Hello everyone! Welcome to my channel Nikitina Knits. My name is Evgenia and in this video I'm
speaking about autumn knitting patterns, specifically sweaters, that I would knit
myself and that feature elegant, classic and timeless design. So all of the patterns, as
usually, I would knit myself. They're not random patterns from the internet, they're my favorites
that I would knit every single one of them and because of that I research on the construction,
on the yarn and I comment on all of that in this type of videos. So by the end of the video you're
not only bombarded with patterns but you also have some technical ideas on how exactly you
would like to knit this pattern or the other. So with that being said, grab your knitting,
grab your favorite drink. Today I'm having some chamomile tea and let's enjoy some of the gorgeous
sweater patterns for this autumn. The first sweater that I'm so in love with from the last year is
two-way pullover by Min Young-hun, the adult version. This is a Korean designer that releases
gorgeous patterns available in English as well. So what caught my attention about this pullover is
that it's a combination of two styles, a sweatshirt and a classic beautiful pullover with this gorgeous
braids along the whole sleeves and I do appreciate the casual sporty look on the sweaters but if it's
just a plain sweater usually it's too simple, too sporty for me. I need some sort of details
and when I saw this pullover I thought wow what a beautiful and smart combination of both. Besides
it being so beautiful it is also very functional because we have quite a high neck which warms us
up during the autumn days but we still have good amount of positive ease, quite deep armhole as
well and the sleeves are free but not too wide to be able to fit the jacket which is very important
for autumn and winter season for me. What is also interesting is this beautiful marled effect that
we see with two yarns. So basically we're holding two fingering weights together to achieve any sort
of marling if this is something that you want to go for. I specifically like the combination of two
low contrast colors and the recommended yarn by a designer is Nakyung yarn I'm wool 2. So I have
wool 4 in my stash which is double weight of this yarn and if you want a plain look on the
sweater like no marling I would suggest to go with one strand because it's easier to knit right
but if you want to go for the marled effect of course we need two yarns so we hold two fingering
versions of that. Regarding the yarn itself I would use this yarn it feels very interesting
it feels very smooth a little bit shiny but at the same matte and lightweight and if we look at
pictures we can feel the lightness of the garment regardless the fact that it's actually merino wool
which is usually quite heavy and it is not scratchy at all it feels so so soft. I'm a fan of this yarn
it is a Korean yarn but it's also available in Germany and they do ship worldwide. The gauge is
19 stitches per 10 centimeters and we're knitting this on four millimeter needles which I think
could be a fast project. What also caught my eye is the way it's knitted up so we're having the
combination of the saddle shoulder and the raglan in the front we have beautiful saddles and at the
back we have the raglan lines. First of all I really want to know how it feels when you wear this type
of garment what's the reason for such construction is it just aesthetic or there's a technical reason
for that and second of course I would like to experience knitting it because I've never tried
this type of construction. The whole sweater is completely seamless and top down so it should be
no problem while trying this on and specifically I like how the cables continue to two different
directions from the shoulders all the way along the body as well so we have them on the body and
on the sleeves. Very beautiful classic and elegant design that I hope a lot of you can enjoy this
autumn and winter. And before I move on with the next pattern I want to say big thank you to FOREO
for partnering on this video. FOREO is all about making advanced skincare easy to use so you can
enjoy professional quality treatments from the comfort of your home. I personally really wanted
to try a red light therapy on my face for quite a long time but I couldn't find the trustworthy
product and this time I got to try their FAQ202 mask which is an FDA cleared silicone mask which
was important to me. It uses eight different wavelengths including near infrared light
so it can target many different skin concerns. Clinically proven results of this mask are quite
impressive and actually studies have shown that the regular lead treatments can help reduce acne
spots, help brighten up the pigmentation, boost collagen production and slow down the sebum
release. My personal skin concerns are post acne spots, some pigmentation, overall skin elasticity,
I would like to improve that and sometimes I do have spots of acne that pop up from nowhere.
So I use their mask with an FAQ red light peptide serum which optimizes lead performance with
photoreactive active ingredients and only after two weeks I can already see the results. My skin
feels more elastic and fresh, the overall skin tone is more even and bright and finally I can
see when the post acne spots start to become less visible. The mask is very easy to use and clean
you can use their app that they offer where you can select customized or pre-programmed treatments
of different lengths that you want but the average treatment is about 15 minutes and also I like of
course the fact that I'm completely cordless and my hands are free so I can enjoy my knitting while
the mask is working on my face. I will continue using this gorgeous mask during my busy autumn
season while getting back into my daily routine. If you have been thinking to try lead therapy
yourself I will be leaving the link in the description box and you can also use my code
for 30% off almost all furry products including the FAQ 202 mask and their other best sellers
even if they're already discounted. The code is only valid for 30 days so if you have been thinking
to try it out this is the best time to do that. The next pattern on my list is Luna zip sweater
by Moroccan Knit. Beautiful zip sweater that I think could also look nice with a high neck
or with a shorter neck just like mentioned in the pattern. Oversized relaxed fit with drop shoulder
construction that is really really well made. Overall Moroccan Knit is very much respected by
me because she puts a lot of effort into how the design is constructed, how the item is fitting
your shoulders and your whole body and this sweater doesn't show a lot of complexities but
there are a lot of short rows, a lot of different details that make this zip sweater different from
many others there in the market. What else is grabbing my attention is of course the marled
effect because we're using three different strands of yarn to achieve such a mixture of
different colors. I do like the marled effect so much I would just use a bit less contrast just
like I usually prefer. Regarding the fit it is quite oversized I'm not sure if you can fit it in
a jacket or the coat depending on what you're wearing because my coat is quite tight and I
would prefer this piece just like a transition piece. It is quite a warm garment and so that's
why we can use it in between while we're transitioning from summer into autumn and both
from winter into the spring and summer. We're knitting here with iron weight yarn 17 stitches
per 10 centimeters on 4.5 millimeter needles. The suggested yarn is from two different brands,
three strands of Filcolana or three strands from Lamana. I would personally go with the Lamana
combination which is Como, 100% merino wool, Milano, 90% merino, 10% cashmere and Pura. Pura
is a 100% alpaca thread. So this whole combination creates a very interesting garment with so many
different qualities in just one fabric and we can experiment a lot with the colors, very very nice.
The construction is completely seamless, thumb down, you start at the back doing a lot of
picking up stitches for the right front and knitting the front panel, left front,
condensing everything over the back panel, knitting the body down, knitting the sleeves
with short rows, creating the beautiful sleeve cap, very beautiful transition from the drop
shoulder into the sleeve. This is not so easy to achieve and I really appreciate that in her
designs and of course after all we're knitting the neckline and installing the zipper. The next
pattern is Hygge sweater by Natalia Aksonova, a Ukrainian designer that I want to knit so many
items from and I'm a big fan of Ukrainian designers overall, it's just not a lot of them
release their patterns in English but when they do I'm so glad to speak about them on my channel.
So if you haven't seen my videos about Ukrainian designers, 10 Ukrainian designers to knit from
and the video with Ukrainian knitting patterns, I will leave the links to watch in the description
box and in March of 2026 she released this gorgeous gorgeous sweater. So besides the whole
motif that we can see that is quite interesting and gives us the opportunity to use the leftover
yarn, besides this fact I'm so impressed with the construction and a very polished design that
fits the body just perfectly. It is a little bit oversized but still the sleeves are narrow enough
to fit the jacket and overall the construction is quite interesting. We have a beautiful neck
bend that defines the neckline and the neckline itself is actually white, it's not so shallow
which I always appreciate in turtlenecks or high necks and then the whole ribbing is quite wide
so we have a wide panel on the stockinette and we have a very thin panel of the purl stitches
that gives it a very beautiful elegant finish and actually reminds me of the items that you buy from
luxurious boutiques, they look store-bought, they look really nicely made but if you make it with
your hands it becomes extremely special. If I were to knit this sweater I think I would use this
every single day, it looks very cozy, very lightweight, very warm and beautiful and simple
at the same time. So I'm not sure with which color combination and with which pattern I would go but
I actually quite like the version from the designer itself. This sweater is also a great opportunity
to use and combine different colors of the same yarn quality and maybe even considered as a scrap
project, why not? Regarding the yarn, the recommended yarn is Italian yarn and cone, that stock yarn
that is not available for a lot of people so I will go with my alternative and that is available
on the market. It is Urga by Fonty. Fonty is a French brand that I appreciate quite a lot
and I want to try so many yarns from them so Urga is one of them. It is a sport weight yarn
with 50% merino wool and 50% yak, down yak, which is so soft. I can only imagine how soft it is,
I knit it with 100% yak and I still know that a different brand uses different qualities of yak
on the same animal so I really want to try this one and I just imagine the whole pullover in this
type of yarn would look just gorgeous. The construction is completely seamless and top-down,
we need to achieve the gauge of 23 stitches per 10 centimeters on 3.75 millimeter needles
and just like with the first design we're having the combination of the saddle shoulder in the front
and the raglan in the back and comes out maybe this construction sits really well if it's chosen
sometimes for such a perfect fit. So I am really looking forward to try it out and I think I can
learn a lot of new skills while making this construction and one more time I want to
appreciate the neck band that is made I don't know it's either together with the neckline or
you need the body first and then you pick up stitches for the neck band and the neckline.
These type of neck bands are very helpful in holding the shape with time and overall they
add the separation between the neck and the body and that adds a very small but very important
detail that polishes the whole look and make it even more elegant. The next one is Ogden by
Veta Romanenkova. She created this gorgeous beautiful cable sweater for woolfolk yarns
and I just can't take my eyes out of this. It is simple but it is so polished and so classy
that if I knit it I think it's going to be in my wardrobe for at least 10 years. So I gotta be
careful with the yarn. We have only two main elements in this sweater. We have a lot of braids,
a lot of cables in the front panel and in the sleeves and in the back and on the sides we have
very beautiful soft diamond motif. They're all placed across plain pearl panel. This sweater
is very versatile and could look beautiful in any color. I would really like to knit it in the color
that the designer did in this very light dusty blue or the cream color. I don't know, I think
cream color would be even more nice. So we're using the worsted weight yarn on four millimeter
needles and we need to achieve 22 stitches in stockinette panel. So what I'm thinking is that
you're knitting quite tightly because the worsted weight yarn with 22 stitches per 10 centimeters,
it is quite a tight fabric and I'm the knitter who appreciates the tight fabric in the garments
and the whole fabric of the sweater does look quite compact and it does hold the shape really
well. I think it's created specifically because the recommended yarn, the Woolfolk Far, it is a
chain knit construction and if you knit it on, I don't know, five millimeter needles or more, then
the whole fabric is going to be so relaxed and it's going to stretch a lot creating gaps between
the stitches. So I don't really like this type of looks and in order to avoid that I think she
created a quite a tight gauge for this sweater. So this type of tight definition results in a very
polished and beautiful look which I always appreciate. By the way, if you haven't seen my
video on how to achieve a polished look in your garments, I have the whole video about that. I will
be also leaving the link down below. So coming back to the yarn, would I go with it? I don't
really think so because Woolfolk is quite pricey and I don't know why the price is so high. Maybe
because it's produced in Canada or maybe because it is actually worth it and I don't know about that.
But when it comes to cashmere, yuck or mohair, I'm ready to pay high price because it is a very
special fiber. But when it comes to merino wool, there's so many different alternatives and I
wouldn't spend that much on the merino wool. So what I'm thinking to replace it with is guipard
tovullia and the stitch definition of guipard tovullia in cables is very beautiful as well. I've
seen a few examples. The construction is knitted bottom up and seamed in the top. You start in the
underarms, then splitting for front and back panels, reaching the top, shaping the top shoulders
with german short rows, doing the same at the back and then connecting everything here with the
three needle bind off or any other sort of seam. There's also shaping for the neckline so it's not
straight but it is curved which is always appreciated and that is not so often seen in
designs. I don't know why. It is very important and finally quite a few designers started to do
that and this is one of them. After you're done with the neck shaping and you connected the
shoulders, you're casting on, picking up stitches here and the sleeves and I don't know if there's
a sleeve shaping or not and you're knitting them in the round down to desired length. The next one
is vega sweater by petite knit and you may think that it's another sweater that is super basic by
petite knit that is just the same as all of them but no it's not and it has so many different
details that the previous designs don't have and I really want to knit it. So let's take a look at
the whole design first. It is extremely classic, slightly drop shoulder construction. The line is
not dropped or not exactly on top. It is just in the middle here as your shoulder already starts
which is a beautiful balance between being sporty and casual but still not too much to keep it
elegant and classic. The whole design looks extremely polished with this beautiful mega band
and very carefully knitted 2x2 rib. I think the ribbing and the stitch definition in this sweater
is everything so when I would knit this sweater I would really make sure that my ribbing is really
neat and nice and I would swatch a lot in the yarn that I'm choosing not only on the stockinette to
meet gauge but also in 2x2 rib to see if I like the ribbing because it is quite an accentuated
detail in this design. So the neckband of course is something new in Petiteness design. We don't
see it previously and just like I mentioned before in previous sweaters it is a very important detail
and I personally appreciate it. It is worth all of the effort and it is going to increase the
durability on the whole shape during next years of wear. So what else to say about the sweater?
It is slightly oversized, not too much. The sleeves are wide but you can still fit in your jackets.
And maybe even in the coat depending on the size that you're wearing and the positive ease available.
In my case I would just need a casual sweater that I would wear at home hanging out in my terrace
just running errands and I would just get so much wear out of this garment I swear. And depending
on the color that you're choosing it could be more calm everyday sweater or it could be more bright
and special sweater for different occasions. So regarding the yarn recommendation, it is
Dumbled Sunday by Sadness Garn and it is knitted with the sport weight gauge. So that means we're
knitting more tight than the yarn recommends. And that is the same detail that we just saw in a
previous sweater, in a cable sweater. Where we're knitting more tight than the recommended gauge
we're achieving very tight beautiful stitch definition. And this is something different
that Petiteness started to do recently. She did it with her scarlet cardigan I think it's called.
There is also very very tight gauge with Dumbled Sunday and you can see how different the whole
garment looks. It looks way more shaped, way more crisp and it holds itself way better. And I am a
fan of these things. I always go for a tighter gauge than the yarn recommends, almost always. And in
most cases I'm very satisfied with how it looks. So would I go with this yarn? I think so because
this is a gorgeous yarn that a lot of knitters appreciate and they knit with this. I only tried
Sunday by Sadness Garn which is a fingering weight. I am not so satisfied with this because
it's really loose and quite shiny. But I think in a tighter gauge it could look really really nice
because I was knitting this on a very loose gauge. So I would try this yarn in this specific project.
But I do have another alternative in mind which is a bit more luxurious and more desired for me
to try which is Tibetan by Pasquale. This is 70% merino wool and 30% yak. And I just imagine
how gorgeous and how soft and how warm that yarn is. It is a bit more tightly spun than Dumbled
Sunday so that could hold shape even better. And of course yak is extremely warm, super soft and
you only have 30% of it so you're not paying so much, just like 100% yak yarns cost. And if you
want to try any Pasquale's yarns you have 10% discount if you shop it through my link. The link
is going to be also down below. Now getting back to the sweater we're having 23 stitches per 10
centimeters on three millimeter needles and the whole construction is knitted completely seamlessly
and top down. And this is where Petite Knit added some new details that she didn't have much in
previous designs. When you start at the back panel you start shaping the neckline to create this
beautiful depth at the back of the neck. I was knitting her poppy sweater, poppy tee that I
transmitted into the sweater and I was thinking and adding those short rows at the back of the
garment myself to create that depth at the back. And I was wondering why designers don't do that
and finally they're doing it. This is incredible. So you have some short rows with the increases for
the shoulder slope then you're picking up stitches for two fronts and here at the sleeve you're doing
some decreases to shape the shoulder even more nicely which is also something new that Petite Knit
started to do recently. And this is what makes this design different from others. It has more
smart details and she's slowly improving the fit of her garments which is always appreciated.
Otherwise it's very similar design to a lot of her others where you need the sleeves and the
body together while doing the increases both for the sleeves and for the body. Reaching the
in the body and then keep on knitting the sleeves until your desired length. And after that you're
picking up stitches for the neckline and doing the neck bend and finally finishing the neckline.
Really beautiful and casual design but still something new to learn. And the last sweater
I have on my list is Clovelly Sweater by Cheryl Mokhtare or Coco Moon Knitwear. This is a very
fresh design that just released in August of 2026 and as much as I'm not a big fan of striped
sweaters this one really caught my attention. I don't know if it's the elegant presence of the
sweater in the pictures or it is really needed in my wardrobe. I wouldn't go with black and white
stripes. I would go again with the lower contrast yarns. So one of the features of this sweater is
how seamlessly the stripes begin and they keep on going across the whole sweater even though it is
an English tailoring shoulder construction where we have the shoulder slope right behind our
shoulder. The whole stripe motif looks extremely clean just like it was made in a factory and I
would personally be very interested to try it out and learn some new skills because I've never tried
to this construction in the stripe motif. It is a little bit oversized but not too much. Again
something that I appreciate in every single design. They're all like that. You can tuck it in
your trousers and show off the belt or wear it freely and completely open. All sorts of styles
are suited in this garment but I would again wear it on everyday basis in my house or running errands
and just simply living my life in this sweater. So the recommended yarn is again a double Sunday
by Sadness Garn just like in Petite Knits design but here we already have the recommended gauge
by the yarn. We're having 20 stitches per 10 centimeters on four millimeter needles and that
means the fabric is going to be more relaxed and the fabric is going to be a little bit more prone
to peeling and stretching over time. So what I would do is I would use the double Sunday but
with an additional strand of mohair, alpaca or cashmere in lace weight to add a little bit of
thickness to the garment and to prevent double Sunday a little bit from peeling. So that would
give me a little bit more sturdy fabric and achieve the look that I usually like to achieve.
The construction is completely seamless and top-down. You're knitting both sleeves and the
body continuously all together but first you're starting with the back panel doing some increases
for the shoulder slope, picking up stitches for the left panel, knitting it down to the neckline,
doing the same with the right one and then connecting everything in the round and keep on
knitting with the stripes all the way down to the underarms and when you're done with this you're
splitting for sleeves, knitting the whole body down and knitting the sleeves down and then you
pick up stitches for the neckline and doing it folding over or just one layer as you prefer.
I usually like my necklines to be folded over so I would go with the recommended version
and overall I just can't wait to have this gorgeous striped sweater in my wardrobe because
I don't have one. So that was it for today's video. Unfortunately it got dark because we
have huge rain as I'm recording this video. Autumn is coming, it is almost here and it felt nice to
record and feel the rain that is associated with autumn in my head. Let me know if you liked any of
the designs and if you want to knit anything from the list. I will be curious to know and also let
me know if you have any special plans for this autumn. Do you have any specific pattern in mind
that you're already knitting or you're about to cast on? So when I read through the comments I'm
also getting inspired from you. Thank you very much for watching and I'm hoping to see you soon in my next video!
