Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe Flydone MT1 is a high-performance e-bike capable of reaching 45 mph when unlocked. Priced under $1,000, it features a powerful 5,000W peak motor, hydraulic brakes, and full nitrogen-charged suspension, making it suitable for both road cruising and off-road terrain despite some minor stability issues due to weight distribution.
We are riding the Flydone MT1 e-bike today.
And this thing, as you can see, is crazy.
We are cruising going 45 miles per hour
on the roadways here, so insane.
You could pretty much legally keep up with traffic.
I'm not recommending it because theoretically,
some of these e-bikes aren't actually legal to be doing that.
But hey, you're a grown adult.
Hopefully you do what you want.
But yeah, the Flydone MT1, this is a solid bike so far.
I haven't spent really much time on it at all until now
because the weather is finally nice,
but we're gonna dive into it,
kind of go over what this thing can do,
what it's capable of, and how fast it can go, right?
45 miles per hour, crazy.
Also, it was extremely tricky to find
how to unlock this bike online.
Out of the box, on speed four, it only goes 20 miles per hour
so I'll show you guys how to fully unlock it
since I had trouble finding it.
It's a very, very, very simple process
and it's because I came across some random person's comment
on some random YouTube video.
So I'm gonna put it in this video
to make it super easy for all you guys
who just possibly bought your very own Flydone MT1.
So other than that, let's dive right into
the typical fun stuff, which is the speed test.
So we're gonna start out with speed number one,
give it the full throttle,
and see how fast this is gonna go.
One thing I do wanna mention, first impressions.
The bike, I did have to air the tires up
a little bit obviously.
I believe the rear was 36 PSI
and the front was 33 PSI when they're cold
so that's what I put them to.
The bike does feel a little squirrely,
as in like it doesn't wanna just stay
in a perfectly straight line.
I don't mean that in a really bad way at all,
it's just worth noting.
And I think it's because the way your body
is positioned on the bike.
The seat is kinda farther back
and your foot pegs are kinda farther forward.
So it's hard to explain, it's worth noting,
it's nothing crazy to really worry about in my opinion,
I'm already pretty much used to it.
But the bike did feel kinda like
if I'm riding with one hand,
it kinda wants to go like this
and kinda veer left and right a tiny bit.
But again, I think it's just the way
the weight's distributed on the bike.
So speed mode number one, we are at 15 miles per hour.
We're gonna bump into speed mode number two.
We're gonna give it full throttle here.
Again, this is with the bike unlocked.
It's completely different speeds
before you unlock the bike.
But mine is unlocked to full speed.
So for me, speed mode number two is 25 miles per hour.
And then we're gonna bump up to speed mode number three,
35 miles per hour for that one.
And as you guys already saw when the video started,
we were ripping going 45 miles per hour
in speed mode number four.
This is full speed and we are definitely cruising.
For some people who think maybe
that speed isn't exactly accurate,
I can tell you I've ridden motorcycles forever,
this feels like a true 40, 45 miles per hour.
So I mean, we're definitely moving.
And for the display, we have an 8.9 inch color display.
This thing is massive.
This is probably one of the biggest displays
I've ever seen on an e-bike.
And it looks pretty good, honestly.
So far it's doing good in the sunlight
and I can still see it pretty well.
And it's a very simple setup.
It just shows your NFC key was activated,
your speed modes, your speedometer, your battery,
and then you have a few options on the bottom,
which shows you how many miles are on the bike
and things like that.
The other cool thing that the MT-1 offers
is it has RGB lighting on the side.
It's gonna be really hard right now to see
while I'm riding.
You might be able to see it flashing there.
It's kind of changing colors, blue, purple, orange.
That's cool.
And you can toggle through the RGB button over here.
So you can see my bars getting a little squirrely
if I'm not keeping them under control here.
The RGB button to change the colors.
And then you also have a horn
and you also have blinkers and a headlight in the front,
which is also huge.
The brakes, this is always a big one for me.
Two things that they won big on the brakes
is they are hydraulic brakes.
So that's cool.
It always feels good.
It gives you a little extra braking power.
And two, they put the brakes on the correct sides.
The left side is your rear brake
and the right side is your front brake.
Cause right front, it's always on the front,
but a lot of e-bikes get that wrong.
So FlyDun did good with this one.
The bike itself, you guys, weighs about 122 pounds.
So it has a little bit of weight to it.
And then also the weight capacity
for this thing is like 330 pounds.
So you really just don't have to worry about all that much.
Like really, pretty much anybody can ride this thing.
They recommend anywhere from five foot five inches tall
to six feet tall for the rider
to be most comfortable on this.
I personally, I'm already getting used to it,
but the little foot pegs where they are placed
and the size of them feels a little off to me.
Like it's perfect for just cruising on the road
like I'm doing now.
But once we get out in the dirt,
I feel like it might feel a little bit off.
And the battery, you guys,
the battery is a 52 volt, 20 amp hour battery.
So depending on how you're riding it,
I have this thing unlocked.
So we're gonna assume it's gonna be much less than this,
but they claim 80 miles, up to 80 miles on a charge
for the 52 volt, 20 amp hour battery, which is solid.
So it does take a little while to charge.
That's okay.
A good handful of hours.
I just plug this thing overnight and let it do its thing.
And here we are cruising around.
But again, once you unlock it
and you're going full speed at 45 miles per hour,
you're definitely gonna drain your battery
a lot sooner than 80 miles, that's for sure.
So the front tire they have on this e-bike is 14 inches.
So it's a little bit bigger than the rear
to help you get over those big rocks
and ruts and things like that.
And it also has what they call,
it's like a puncture resistant technology
that they have in the front tire.
So you can kind of worry less
about blowing the tire out or popping it.
And then the rear is a 12 inch tubeless tire.
I'm not sure if it has the puncture list technology or not,
but 14 in the front, 12 in the back.
And I already mentioned the PSIs for those as well.
Now these tires are very dirt inspired, right?
Heavy tread, just like a dirt bike.
It still rides really smooth on the road,
but it's definitely got tires on it
out of the box for the dirt.
And let's see if it feels less squirrely in the dirt.
Honestly, so far, this doesn't feel bad at all.
Like I was actually expecting to hop on the dirt
and feel a little more squirrely than this,
but I think, I mean, it doesn't feel so bad.
It really doesn't, truthfully.
There's still a little bit of a squirrely aspect to it
for whatever reason.
Again, I'm pretty sure it's the weight distribution
and it could be just how I'm riding it,
but you know, I'll still just keep putting that out there.
But this thing definitely can burn out.
It even started to want to do a wheelie
when I took off after I unlocked it.
So it's definitely got some torque.
I believe it's 300 NMs worth of torque.
It can get up like a 35 degree incline
and again, 45 mile per hour top speed.
So like those specs are pretty solid
for an e-bike that's sub $1,000.
I think this thing right now is on sale,
I believe on Amazon for 799.
You could go on Flydun's website
and get it for like 899 if you wanted to go direct.
But I mean, for that price going 45 miles per hour
and getting decent range, it's hard to beat, honestly,
especially hydraulic brakes, all that fun stuff.
The bike itself is just over like 60 inches long, I believe.
On the motor note, it peaks out at 5,000 watts.
So I mean, the motor's got some power,
definitely has some power.
And I do remember reading with the 5,000 watt peak
that I could have swore that it can do 60 degree climbs max.
So I think it can do like 35 degree climbs easily,
but then the 60 degree climbs are probably like it's max,
it's peak, right?
But I also saw that under the specs for it
that it can do 60 degrees, which is,
I mean, that's like, that's almost double.
You have full suspension on the Flydun MT1
on the front and the rear.
Oh, here's a little bit of a hill.
Looks like some dirt bikes and quads
have been out here or something.
But yeah, the suspension is smooth.
I mean, it does a good job.
It's a little bit bouncy, but again,
we're talking about a bike that's $800.
So you're not gonna get like absolutely insane,
buttery suspension, but it does a really good job.
Off-road, I don't feel too much.
Doesn't feel like my back is gonna be hurting tomorrow
or anything like that.
So that's always, always a good sign.
Solid, solid suspension.
And on the suspension note,
the suspension is nitrogen charged.
So again, it really just does a good job.
The responsiveness of it is pretty good overall,
I would say.
Like I said, I just went over all kinds of rocks,
all kinds of stuff.
Sure, it's a little bit bouncy here and there,
but I mean, it feels very standard slash above standard,
in my opinion.
Like it really does feel solid,
especially after just taking it off-road a bit.
All right, so we're gonna try to whip the MT-1
through my favorite wash here
to see if it has the power to get through.
Oh yeah, no problem.
And then once we get to the other side of this wash
and up this hill, as you saw, that was zero problem,
we are going to pull over quick
and I'm gonna show you guys how to unlock your MT-1
from 20 miles an hour to 45 miles per hour.
I'm not gonna literally do the process
because I already did it, but I'm gonna tell you how.
You're gonna have the bike off, powered down.
The power will be on, like you'll be able to turn it on,
but the bike will be off.
You're going to take your brake sensor wires,
these right here, boop, unplug it.
This wire, these wires right here that run to your brake,
not to the throttle or the other electronics, to the brake.
Same thing here, boom, unplug it.
While they're unplugged, what you're gonna do
is hold both brakes in with the throttle fully engaged
and turn the bike on.
If you don't have a helping hand,
I literally held the NFC key in my mouth,
held both brakes down, full throttle,
turned the bike on with the NFC key in my mouth
on the screen.
Once the bike powers on, you continue holding the brakes
and the throttle all the way down.
Do not let off of them, hold it for 20, 25 seconds.
Then once you release after 20, 25 seconds,
your MT-1 should be unlocked
and you can go 45 miles per hour.
After that, before I turned it off,
I plugged the brake sensors back in,
turned the bike off, turned it back on,
and we're going 45 miles per hour, it's that easy.
As for the frame on this thing,
I know I told you guys this bike weighs about 122 pounds.
It is made of high carbon steel,
so the frame is not too, too heavy.
It has a little carrying handle
kind of on the back behind the seat, which is cool.
On the note of the seat,
seat is actually pretty comfortable
and pretty cushy if you ask me.
And another thing that the MT-1 comes with
is a carrying rack and a bag.
I got a bag with mine as well,
so I have a bag and a carrying rack.
I actually just leave the charger in the bag at all times,
just in case, and it works perfect,
has plenty of room for it.
But yeah, overall, you guys,
the MT-1 does a great job for what it is.
I mean, under a thousand dollars,
it is kind of hard to beat, especially 45 miles per hour.
I've only ridden so many e-bikes of this class
that even have the option to be unlocked
to 45 miles an hour.
Normally it's 30, 35 miles per hour, right?
So, I mean, this is, it's pretty crazy
and definitely worth continuing to mention.
I guess that brakes are solid,
suspension is solid for what it is,
tires are solid.
So we pull over for a quick sec.
This is the MT-1.
You can see the RGB lights here a little bit better
because we're in the shade on this side.
Here's your storage bag.
You can also remove your battery tank up here,
which is cool with the keys that come with the bike.
Here's your storage tank there
to carry whatever you want, a little basket.
And another thing this bike does have
is operational taillight and headlight and blinkers.
So those things are huge perks with this bike,
always worth mentioning.
And so far I'm having a lot of fun on the MT-1.
So with all that being said,
if you guys are interested in getting your very own
Flydone MT-1,
all the info in the link will be in the description.
Definitely go check it out.
It's a solid bike.
And thanks for riding with me, you guys.
