Something About Göbekli Tepe No Longer Makes Sense

For thirty years the story was clean. Hunter-gatherers built a temple on a Turkish hilltop before farming existed, buried it deliberately when they were done, and walked away. Almost every part of that sentence is now in question, and the number underneath all of it is five percent, because that is how much of the site has actually been dug. In this one I go through what the other ninety five percent has started saying. In October twenty twenty five, georadar and LiDAR across the unexplored northern sector found numerous structures that look nothing like the famous circles. Smaller, no T-shaped pillars, and the current dig leader's first impression is that they were residences. Which matters because the whole temple reading rested on an absence, and that absence may only have existed because nobody had looked in the right part of the hill. The uniqueness has gone too. At least eleven sites across the province share the same pillars, circles and reliefs, and Karahan Tepe produced a two and a half metre human statue with a realistic face emerging from a bench in a sealed chamber. This was a network, not a lone cathedral. I also go through Pillar 43 and the comet and calendar readings, and why specialists push back, because a vulture and a scorpion might be constellations or they might be a vulture and a scorpion, and there is no key. Even the deliberate burial is shakier than people think, since some fill looks placed and some looks like wind doing what wind does to a hilltop basin. Five percent has already rewritten the textbooks twice.
