Dollywood details plans to honor Dolly Parton's legacy

Announcing new plans to honor the life and legacy of its namesake Dolly Parton. Officials at the theme park gonna share details on how the entertainment icon will be celebrated. Our Maria Guzman they're live with how they plan to do that Maria. Hey Tom yes just like you mentioned we are in Dollywood it's just right next door to Sevierville which is Dolly's hometown. I'm gonna go ahead and step to the side because this is just one of the way they are already honoring her. There's our pink poster it says I will always love you. This is just one of several posters across the park that are honoring her. Another way is you know Dolly did a lot of work with reading through her program imagination library. So next year they are launching a new character it's gonna be called dream maker and the goal of that is to really inspire the next generation. But outside of the park they're also working with city leaders from Sevierville. They're gonna be establishing a new program it's gonna be called in the footsteps. So basically they're gonna have markers throughout the city of Sevierville when anyone that is visiting can go and stop by and learn about her work and story. So let's go ahead and listen from the president. Footsteps in life and you're gonna see them throughout some historical spots you know in our city that meant a lot to her like the Pines Theater or the Reds Diner. Those are foundational stories in her life and now to think about returning to Dollywood at the Dolly Parton experience where we have celebrated her since 2024 with the Dolly Parton experience. One of the highlighted areas of this park that she really truly loved because it gave her a chance to tell her story in her own words and we're giving it a proper portal into the zone and you're really gonna see how we're bringing out the Dolly Parton experience onto the show street. You can also see and I've seen many comments about the banners that we unveiled after her passing and that is gonna continue to frame the experience in the area. And the center of today's conversation really focused on next steps and moving forward because in Dolly words she would want us to get back to words just like nine-to-five Tom. I understand that she was so personally involved in the creation the formation of Dollywood and you could actually find her on occasion walking around the park in addition to her family members and so it's it's very clear why her her spirit looms large over Dollywood even after her passing. Maria Guzman live for us this afternoon at Dollywood. Maria thanks so much.
