The "Contact Nikko" project in Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture, offers an eating and drinking space where visitors can enjoy local meals made from fresh ingredients by kitchen cars.

The designed building features a traditional "Kawara" tiled roof, with a backyard, restrooms, and a welcoming plaza. Strategically located along the Nikko Kaido Road, which connects the famous "Nikko Toshogu Shrine" and "Nikko Station," the layout encourages casual stops by tourists walking along the street. Inspired by Nikko's iconic "Irohazaka Winding Road," the architecture incorporates a meandering staircase.
