In Three Towns, One Valley, I drive into the forgotten America hiding in southern Colorado's Wet Mountain Valley — a cinematic travel documentary through Cotopaxi, Silver Cliff, and Westcliffe, three mountain towns bound together by one land and one shared story.

This is hidden gems America at its most honest. I follow the Arkansas River into Cotopaxi, a gateway town still passing travelers through. Then to Silver Cliff — in 1880 it was the third-largest city in Colorado, and almost no one remembers. Its weathered structures, old mine workings, and a dome-shaped bar with the lights still on tell a story that didn't end. It moved.

One mile away, Westcliffe grew up at the end of the railroad tracks. Together, these small town America survivors earned one of the rarest titles in the country — an International Dark Sky Community. What begins as a journey through abandoned places in Colorado becomes something else entirely: proof that a valley, and the people who refuse to leave it, keep going.
