BREAKING: Gators Strike $5M Mega Deal - One of CFB's Richest EVER
Sep 5, 2026
It is believed the Florida Gators just landed the most lucrative deals in college football.
Worth five million dollars, Ripple slash XRP will be on the field sponsor for the Florida
Gators in this upcoming season, which again equates to one of the most lucrative deals in
college football. We're going to talk about it today. Is there more deals to come? We'll find
all that out. Let's get after it. Welcome back. Good to see you. Be sure to smash the like button
and subscribe. This morning on our live show here for the morning show it was broke that XRP
will be the new on-field sponsor for the Florida Gators. Remember last year we had Geico sponsor
the last two games for roughly a million dollars. Now we've got six home games this year so XRP
will have their logo on our field for the first six games this season, which obviously it doesn't
quite equate to a million dollars per game. A little bit under that I think XRP will probably
be seen elsewhere. Not quite a million dollar per transaction like they got with the Geico deal,
but all in all very excited for this deal. If you've heard us on the show talk plenty of times
about NIL and Florida being innovative. Not being afraid to get in the mix with sponsorships,
especially on the patch. We've seen plenty of jersey patches be signed up this offseason.
Florida has yet to do so and there is a bit of that puristness where you don't want to necessarily
take away from what is the jersey and college football. I know Florida likes to kind of
hold their ground and stick to it. We're going to get into that a little bit later on in this episode
discussing more possibilities of sponsorships, which I'm going to say something that's going to
piss a lot of people off, but all I'm saying is just hear me out. Think about it. I don't want to
have it happen. I'm more so wondering who's going to do it first. Think about what I could be talking
about here and we'll get after it here. But XRP what I do like about this a lot about opinions
of what should be the on-field sponsor. Whether it was Pepsi, whether it was Gatorade, whether it
was the Publix P, which a lot of people were throwing around. We landed on XRP slash Ripple,
which Ripple is the parent company. Now I'm not giving anybody any type of investment advice.
That's not where my strong suit is. Not that I have any of those at all, but I did dabble in
Ripple and XRP. I was invested. I guess I'm somewhat versed. I wouldn't say well versed,
to say the least. I do like what Ripple has to do. I know the crypto world may not
sit well with a lot of people, but XRP and Ripple, the way they're trying to navigate it,
I understand it. I can actually at least somewhat align with what they're trying to do. I have to
feel that Gator and Scott Strickland feel the same way, hence why they partnered with XRP and Ripple.
I think if you have any stock in XRP or just XRP, you got to feel pretty good about this
on the movement towards legitimacy for XRP and Ripple. What I do like from a cosmetic point
is how simple it looks on the football field. You get a big Gotti logo out there. Again,
this is where that Florida mindset is. You keep this in your head. They don't want to take away
from the logo. The logo carries weight. You don't want to have anything overwhelming. The Gator
head and the orange and the blue, I understand that. I think they crushed it with XRP. It's just
nice and subtle. The logo is simple. It's lines, so it fits in with the lines. I like it a lot.
Again, I think a Pepsi logo would look sexy too or a Gatorade as well. I don't think anybody would
have complained about that. I don't know if they'll be throwing $5 million at them either.
Now, we did mention at the top of the show the most lucrative deal in college football. Here's
where it sits amongst the rest of the gang. You can see Florida State with a $5 million. It stands
above the rest of the market as of now. Keep in mind, some of these other schools have jersey
patches as well that may be bringing up the slack there. Penn State has a $2 million deal.
Ohio State has a $1.8 million deal. Washington has a $1.25 million deal for their
on-the-field sponsorship. Again, Florida crushed it here. Not first by any stretch. Florida is
definitely not known for being first, but here they are. Let's make sure we measure twice,
cut once. If we do it, we're going to do it right. We're going to have the best one out there. Right
now, we are setting the tone for on-field sponsorships. I'm excited that Florida was
able to push that forward and lock that in. Again, it's all money that we need. How they'll
distribute this money, I don't know. With it being on the football field, I would assume
80% of this should go to the football team and assign some big-time recruits into next year.
Will more of this come from this? We don't know. More sponsorships. That's the next part of this.
Jersey patches, I think, are the next easy one that you could go ahead and lock in. Again, I'm
sure this is a big step for them for putting this on the football field. I would have to imagine
that Jersey patches would be coming next. We've seen the Big 12 deal with Monster.
Not the greatest deal. Sometimes being first in this world isn't always best. I think maybe
Florida is trying to navigate this the best possible way to get the most lucrative deal
for them. Now, here's what I was alluding to a little bit earlier on in the show.
I want to make this very clear because I can already hear in the comment section. I am not
saying that Florida should ever do this. I don't want it to happen anywhere. At this point in the
world of college football, I don't know what to believe or what could or could not happen.
With what LSU is doing with college football, anything can go at this point. What made me
think of this is going back to basketball, big Miami Heat fan. It was American Airlines for as
long as I know. That's what it was when they hit the ground. Over the last couple of years,
it went from FXT, which they had their falling out, or FTX, which they had their falling out
arena. Then it moved to KCS Center, which I don't even know what that is. I went past
Orlando Magic, which was, what was it? I can't remember what they were called anymore.
They're changed now. My point of it is, you guys see where I'm going. You could sell the rights
to the stadium, aka the Swamp, aka Ben Hillgriffin Stadium. I'm not saying that I want to do that.
I would never want to do that. I'm just saying there is going to be a college football team
that is willing to sell themselves and sell the names of their stadium to get that extra paycheck.
Congrats you because you finally made it to college football season, boys and girls.
Yes, that is right. You can now get in on the action on Price Picks
with college football. It is time to get up after it. This week, we're rocking and rolling.
Feeling pretty good about our guy Micah Alejandro from Hawaii. Then we've got, of course,
King Miller with USC. Get some rush touchdowns. I know we don't like FSU around these parks,
but I think Ashley Daniels is going to use his little legs in this upcoming week for some nice
football to get him more in his rushing yard. You can now get in on the action with Price Picks
for the rushing season and individual games. On the app, you can pick your team to just win the
game outright. When you use that code HMA, download the app today using the link in the
description. You pay $5. You get $150 if you win that lineup for brand new users. Take advantage.
Ride with the crowd. Use the great features that Price Picks has to offer. Price Picks,
it is good to be around. Now, as we know, I'm sure obviously Ben Hill and all these guys that
haven't named after them gave up a pretty penny at some point. Renaming it now would
be interesting to see. Again, I'm using the Swamp just because that is our example that we have
here. Never wanted to have happen, but I do ask you the question. If there is a college football
team out there that you think would be willing to sell themselves to sell the naming rights of
their stadium, who do you think would be the first on the board? I'm going to probably put LSU,
given all the last few things of what happened here, but that's, again, crazy, crazy theory.
I know some people might not like it. I don't either. Makes you sick thinking about it,
but I'm just trying to think of other ways you could start bringing in some money. Now,
the big one is going to be the jersey patch. I hope they find a way to make that work. I don't
think anybody would feel too weird about it at this point with how things have moved. I think
they did a good job with XRP. I think it looks good on the field. I'm a NASCAR guy. I've said
this before. I wouldn't mind if you threw a cool logo on there. I am kind of biased, though. If I
hate the logo and hate the brand, I'm not a big fan of it. I will be critical if it's ugly and
it doesn't fit well. I do think there is something of having a logo that is clean, that's subtle,
that fits your brand, that fits who you are, that also fits your fan base as well. Maybe that's
what's taking them so long to get there on the jersey patch for the Florida Gators. All in all,
great stuff here for the Gators. Love the direction they are headed. Now, in a recent
interview, Brandon Spikes, as we all know, no longer is employed with the University of Florida.
While he was there, he kept things very quiet. Didn't do a lot of interviews, but since then
has been on a handful of radio shows, if you will. Not necessarily podcasts, but radio shows.
He sat down with Chris Doering and Peter Burns on the SEC College Sports Series XM Radio and had
some things to say about John Summerall and getting things back to where they are. Take a listen.
We're stacked with talent. Obviously, it's hard to compare it to our days because that was just
something I think you'll never see. A locker room with that many guys. We was deep at each position.
That was special, but there's no question we have talent. The real question for me is the
leadership. The discipline, the look, and getting guys where they're supposed to be.
Getting guys on the field. Guys dialed in. I think that's the question. As far as Summerall,
man, he's one of our guys, Chris. The dude, very passionate about ball. He moves with full
intensity like me, which I can appreciate. I just think he's a breath of fresh air for the
University of Florida. Rome won't build overnight, so it's going to take him a while, but I think
he got what it takes. If you've been around him and you spend some time with him,
you look in his eyes, he's a linebacker, man. I'll get in the trenches with him and go to war
any day. He's just a guy that loved ball, and we needed that so desperately. The whole Gator
nation. I'm pretty sure everybody's happy so far with the hire, even the players.
Look, I love this. Spikes is obviously an opinion that I appreciate greatly, as I do from all former
players, especially ones that won a championship at the University of Florida. I think we all
take their opinions. I appreciate them very much, but I appreciate his even more so because he's
been around the system now, or this team, if you will, for the last four to five years.
He was there with Napier. He was part of the coaching staff to some facet, part of the NIL.
He has been involved with it off the field side of things. Getting to see the full politics of
this thing and how it's been working. Now here he is, kind of removed from it all, and now has a
clear vision and opinion of it. Obviously, there's going to be bias there. Of course, he's a Florida
Gator by nature, but I still think there's a sense of refreshing, you know, take coming from Brandon
that I do love. Again, hearing him talk about John Summerall is the guy, his intensity. These aren't
things we haven't heard. We've heard them from everybody. Again, I think this is the biggest
thing for me is this is one more voice to capitalize on what we've been hearing. One last
voice of oomph before we go into the season that hopefully backs everything we've been hearing,
right? This is kind of one last little notch to the hat of like, all right, dude, we've heard it
all offseason. You're the guy. You've got the intensity. The players love you. The fans love you.
The old players love you. Can we just make sure it all works out so that all the love that you've
been getting and we've been giving you all comes to a head here on Saturday night. Obviously,
all season long, but it's going to get started on Saturday night tomorrow against FAU at 745.
Again, love that Brandon Spikes is getting out there and talking about his time and his experience
with Summerall, being a part of the University of Florida in a different capacity as well.
We're going to do our best to get him on this show. We've talked to him for some time about
getting him on this show. Said he would, but obviously was involved with Florida from a
to that. And I think that may have changed why he navigated the way that he did. So maybe things
will open up now that he is not associated in that same sense as he was before with the University
of Florida. So love that as I'm sure everybody else does. Great stuff. Let me know down in the
comments section below your thoughts on XRP. You may not like XRP or crypto, but that part's fine.
But how about just the branding as itself? Are we a fan of that? Are we excited about the new
income that's coming into the University of Florida that hopefully will apply to NIL? Will
they, you know, utilize XRP in other ways? Will they be able to branch off this? We know about
the renditions happening to the University of Florida, to the stadium. Will there be some
other areas that they can give away for advertising? Obviously not the naming of the stadium.
We don't want to get into that world, but other areas where they can continue to capitalize and
bring in more revenue so we can continue to stack a elite roster to match up with the big dogs.
Let me know down below. Smash the like button, subscribe, and I'll see you boys in the next one.
Peace of love, baby.
