Kenko Tool Laser engraver with lightburn. test engraving

Hey folks and welcome today, we're taking a look at this Kanko tool engraver We're gonna be doing some burnings and light burn as you can see I've already done a few test runs now this was a high carbon steel knife that I used in my other job and I did a cute little chef with a with a soup ladle there. It's kind of cool Really liked how that turned out. I've also done a few of these metallic cards with this laser I know that's hard to see because it's a really thin outline, but Basically it is a aluminum card with a plastic veneer on top that melts off So I have some things I need to set up for a play that my daughter's in we're gonna prep some props And that's what this 2x4 here is for and I also have a couple of dog tags now this one is Enzo's for my father's dog, and we're gonna do Gemma's as well, so we'll get there eventually But for now, I think we'll probably jump over to light burn and we'll see where we're at and see what we're gonna engrave off the back here, so Having a lot of issues My video encoding Let me see I can do something about that And I'm having some serious stream lag I'm having issues here, and it's getting on my nerves let's All right, we're gonna see if that helps You're doing a little bit better Helps if I turn the laser on for one all right connected to the gerbil It's the speed we can take up to hundred 25,000 Okay, oh Cool, man. I think that's a little bit safer And Reduce the size of this a little more We're pretty close to placement You know these are just like I said some preliminary tests. I've done several of these cards If that's actually pretty square. It's not gonna end up dead center But let's go ahead and give this a burn it and see what we get Had pretty good luck with this so far so As you can see it's not perfectly square not perfectly straight either, but like I said these are these are test prints We're checking out some different materials and things like that. Let's go ahead and hit start and It should kick right on we'll see where we end up here. Give me just a minute. That's good You may or may not have noticed. I haven't been doing a lot of streams lately I've been really busy as I said before the summertime is a really slow time on YouTube not a lot of people indoors Not a lot of people watching videos Do still do okay? But I just kind of take that as my time to spend Time off with my kids and enjoy some some activities and things like that so we go to the beach a lot having a lot of barbecues and other outdoor activities that don't involve being inside when it's 110 degrees with my 3d printer on and Blaring more heat so I am going to be getting back into now that it's August doing more streams more regularly You should see me on here at least two or three times a week as well as uploading more videos I have some pretty interesting video ideas coming up so stay tuned for those And I always always always want your input, so yeah, just let me know if you have any ideas and Definitely willing to check it out. I know I'm right in the way of the camera here I'm not sure this is all gonna fit on here at the place that I put it, but that's okay. I have literally Let's see here These business cards, and that's exactly what they are is metallic business cards And you can get a couple hundred of these for a couple bucks, so they come out really really cool in fact The reason I purchased these is because this printer or this laser itself came with Some gold and some blue ones so One of the business cards that I did came out all right a Lot of these were tests and placement tests, I think that one It's probably one of the better ones And these are actually my two my two complete copies so as you can see I did one with one side in Gold and then the other side in blue and yes It is a little bit hard to read because of the lighting with the camera, but trust me they look great in person I'm very very happy with them in fact. We're gonna go ahead and set those right there This is the pattern we're printing now, I did not scale it to size or anything I just kind of threw it on there And I think from the looks of it a little bit of it is gonna come out on top of that paper But that's okay. We'll throw another card on we'll make adjustments Hopefully my stream is still streaming here. I need to make some updates to my PC. That's another reason You haven't seen me as much lately You know I've been thinking about getting into the discord a lot more again lately Sarge it's just so time-consuming And I I I don't I Don't have the time and energy to go in and moderate and mediate Arguments among people and I'm not in it for the pissing matches And it seems like there's a lot of that going on in the discord, so I just I don't know I'm Taking a step back from everything right now and I'm gonna be making some changes and adjustments to A lot of the stuff revolving around the channel not necessarily the channel itself, but my patreon my merch page things like that Because I do want to find better ways to interact with the people, but I do get a lot of comments So it seems like I could just do it on YouTube I think if we get the community section a little bit better that I will be a lot happier with that so And I'm just realizing that you're not really seeing any of this for some reason oh My god, this is annoying. I don't understand why I'm having such issues with this. It's really irritating me This may actually be the last stream I do for a couple weeks It's not even working. I'm really irritated right now. I think we're going to get a Dedicated machine for streaming because If I try to do anything else on this PC, it just doesn't ******* stream Yeah, man. I'll be down for that. I **** obviously you can hear me, but what is going on here? Shit my stream alright. Well at least the stream is working. I can see it on my phone That's good Sound is working to let me mute that All right, all right, so um the stream is working. I'm not gonna mess with it doesn't look like There's a ton going on right now, but looks like we're gonna get most of this in here Now the cool thing about light burn is I can use this camera To arrange images in there, and then just drag and drop stuff on it there will have a video on that later But I can't do it while I'm streaming Because it uses the same camera. I'm using this stream, so Let's go ahead, and we're gonna hit Stop on this The laser there now as you can see this wasn't properly positioned it's a little bit off to It's basically using it as a template So now that I know where it's gonna be almost perfectly This one should be quite a bit more centered Speaking of Dave man. I wonder why he's not on here. He loves lasers All right. I think that would be kind of cool I just don't have the time to be on there checking it every time I get a message and ---- like that which I know Sounds kind of harsh, but it's the truth. I gotta I got Four other YouTube channels at the moment that are doing okay none of them is as strong as this one of course But I just I have a full-time cooking job at my family's restaurant as well I just don't have a lot of extra time, but I do want to be more involved with the community and talking to people and Getting to know people letting them get to know me, so that's Kind of where I'm at right now This should come out fairly, okay? this is the le 400 pro by Kanko tool it is a fixed focus Dual diode laser system, so basically there are two lasers pointed at the same spot Which gives me a little bit more intensity? It's capable of etching pretty much anything as you can see works pretty well on high carbon steel here It worked on the aluminum obviously it does wood plastic things like that Little tarot card I made That I was working on the line depth needs to go a little deeper than that, but I got it dialed in now If I slow this down a little bit you get a little bit better burn But it is a two-tone color underneath there, so sometimes it's silver sometimes. It's gray Because of that you get a pretty nice flow between the two for almost a watermark pattern underneath, which is cool Really really impressed with this setup so far one of the things I like the most is This guy right here, this is a knob. There's a lead screw here, and I know you can't see it in the position that you're in right now But it is pretty amazing All right Things are mostly working. I think the light burn is eating a lot of my stream bandwidth as well My xbox streams way better than my PC if you're interested in gaming check out my twitch. It's a 5 watt Concentrated spot laser space that has two lasers pointed at one spot And can do some pretty serious stuff as far as engraving metals and things like that Get there get there. He's telling his teammates to shut up Wow As far as lasers go there are some things about this one that I really really like As I mentioned earlier the lead screw giving it a z-axis now. It's not motorized but I've already come up with a few ways for 3d printing some parts and using a Little Arduino for Control so we are going to be modding that so it is adjustable with controls that way I can just use buttons and Raise and lower the Z. I'm also contemplating whether it would be best to use a distance sensor To adjust it automatically or some sort of end stop situation to keep it from going too low Although the lead screw does stop at a certain point, so it's not like It's not like I can really ram it through what would theoretically be the bed dude oh my goodness This guy is cold garbage There's like three or four times that I could have had a hit on goal this freaking guy Just decides instead, but he's gonna knock it out of my way again again.
