I Got ATTACKED While Clearing This Lady’s Front Porch

I got a message from a lady saying her mom really needed some help with her yard. Her mom lives about an hour away from me, so I hopped in the truck and drove out there to see what was going on. When I got there, she came out to meet me and told me her husband passed away seven years ago. He was the one that took care of everything outside, and she's been living on social security ever since, so keeping up with the yard has been really hard for her. She did have someone mowing for her last year, but they let her know they wouldn't be doing it anymore. Luckily, a neighbor has been keeping the front yard cut for her, but the weed trees had grown all the way up and around her front patio to the point where they were completely blocking the front door. On top of that, the city had already sent her a letter about it and threatened a $400 fine. So I told her I'd love to knock it all out that day completely free of charge, and she was super happy. I started with the front sidewalk, which was almost completely buried in spots, and trimmed back the tree overhangs so she'd have a clear path to walk again. Then I started working my way around the front of the house and the porch, and that's when I found out the hard way that there was a wasp nest tucked up under the handrail. They got me pretty good on the arm, so I backed off, made a run to the hardware store, and came back to take care of them before finishing up around the porch. With a thunderstorm rolling in, I cleared out the side of the house, mowed the big back section, and hauled all the brush to a city brush pile just up the road. By the time I was done, she said it didn't even look like her house anymore, and when I asked her to rate it on a scale of one to ten, she said twenty. She also told me she can finally take that letter back to the city and let them know it's all been taken care of.
