Our wedding video! documentary style

So I do a lot of reading and so I read a lot of love stories and I feel like our love tops all of them. I know it sounds so cheesy but I read all these amazing stories and I'm like yeah that's what I have or nothing compares to that. Our love doesn't stop the world from turning and bad things from happening and there's still so many things I don't understand but he is my shell top in that turbulence and that is just all that matters to me. You showed me that true love is real and I'll forever be grateful that you chose me and that you didn't run away when I said I love you way too early in our relationship. To me this is like, this is it. Getting married to Soph, it's the ultimate creed to me. Okay so we're going back almost eight years now. We were kind of like in and out of school, like we weren't ever part of the same friend group. Like I knew he existed, I always knew he existed. He rocked up at schoolies and he was wearing high viz. So in the moment and funny and I just instantly gravitated towards him but I really didn't think anything was happening. We went to a nightclub on first or second night that I was there and there was some peer pressure. From memory they were like you should kiss her. And I looked at Sam and he was like no I don't know like kind of being a gentleman he was like no no no. I looked at him all over and he was like I mean if you're down. And so that was our first kiss. We sort of look at each other going what the hell just happened and then probably didn't talk to each other for a little bit. We're on schoolies you know it's just a bit of fun. And then he texted me and this is our first message ever. He said Soph comma can I call you? I was like call? Call first? Hi you've reached the Allens. And I was like yeah of course trying to act all like chill. And he was like hey I was just like wondering if I could ask you on a date. And I was like okay. He had talked to my best friend at the time and asked what my favorite cuisine was, where he should take me. So we went out for sushi and then ice cream, went for like a walk along the beach. Sam followed her around like a lost puppy. He made cute internet videos just for all of her online friends and he enjoyed all the things that she did. I will never forget the moment I first met Soph opening the garage door. She was there and I just went oh my god you're so beautiful. She actually took my breath away. As soon as we saw this venue we loved it because we love this kind of like almost Italian Riviera like countryside energy. And we walked in and Sam was like oh this just takes me back to Europe and when we traveled Europe when he proposed. The proposal obviously got the ring. I had no real plan. I had like my slight suspicions. By five weeks in I was like there is no chance. There is no chance that it's happening. We're standing up on this ledge which overlooks the ocean. I've sort of got her to like turn away from me. And I was like that's gonna look so bad. Like I'll entertain it but I'm I'm not gonna use it. When I turned back around he was on one knee. I was so shocked because I just didn't believe. I was like oh my gosh he's just there and he's looking up leaving at the ring and I was just like it was the most surreal feeling. As a girl I always dreamt about my wedding day. Like from my earliest memories like what am I gonna wear? Who is it gonna be that I marry? And so I think I'm just gonna be looking around being like this is all happening. Like I look back and I'm just like we have done so much over the eight years from travel and moving different places and getting dogs and just like growing separately and then growing together as well. And I'm just like looking back to when we met I'm like gosh those people like if we were to tell them now. I really had to learn how to let someone in. Just kind of like growing up as an only child and then losing mum at such a young age. The love from him has never changed just always stayed constant throughout it all the best and the worst. I could not be prouder to stand here today as your very soon-to-be husband. As I say these vows I do so knowing that your mum is watching over us. I make these vows not only to you but to Jane as well. I promise to love you with my whole heart, to be faithful and honest to you in our marriage and to protect you for the rest of my life. You can see a reflection of Jane today when you look at Soph. I know she'd be so proud of you Soph and she'd be so happy that you've married Sam. You carry yourself with resilience and grace being your father has been the biggest honour of my life. My mum never got to meet Sam. I can't hear her words but I can just imagine that she would be head over heels that I picked such an amazing man to marry. I could talk for hours about the way you show up for me, the patience you've given me and the love you show me every single day. Thank you for choosing me to be the person to receive the greatest love I've ever known. Finding Sam, I have a hand to hold to keep me steady through it all. When everything else is falling apart around us at least I know that we have each other and that is just all that matters to me. You showed me that true love is real. I'll forever be grateful that you chose me. Every moment we shared has led us to here and this is the happiest day of my life. I love you. You're my soulmate, my best friend.
