Today I'm on a mission to find the worst reviewed hotel in all of Bangkok, Thailand.
We'll also be staying at the best reviewed hotel in the city, but more on that later.
So finding the best reviewed hotel in Bangkok was very easy to do, but when it came to finding
the worst reviewed hotel in terms of guest satisfaction, it got a little bit more
complicated. So we cross-referenced countless hotel reviews from TripAdvisor, Booking.com,
Google Reviews, and Agoda to find what all sources point to be the worst reviewed hotel in Bangkok.
And after reading all of these reviews, let's just say we found what we were looking for.
Overall, this hotel averages about 1 to 1.5 stars a night. Place is filthy and stinks.
Dirty mattress, as thin as a yoga mat, water turned off at night. Maybe better to mark if
you want to rent it out by the hour. These reviews are so savage. There were cockroaches
all over the room, a void at all costs, and the sink just leaks all of the water onto the floor.
No mattresses on the beds, rooms smell, no bedding, and human feces on the bathroom floor.
This is the worst hotel I have ever come across in my entire life. Cockroaches throughout the room,
climbing up onto the bed. Do not book and stay here.
I have never read worse reviews for anything in my entire life, which was exactly what we
were looking for. So now that we are fully officially booked, it's time to go jump in
some classic Thai transport to head to the worst reviewed hotel in all of Bangkok.
Well, we're taking one to guys here, and honestly, we're on the way to this hotel.
Wow, we've arrived. Map says we're right on top of this place, yet there's no signs whatsoever.
We have arrived. Can't believe we're finally here. So anticipated. Heard so many good things
about this place. Where is anybody? Hello? Hello?
Yeah, one room? Yep. This hotel? Paradise. Paradise? Not here? No, no. Why not here?
It's a nicer room here? There's no nice. Ah, okay. Could we see the room here?
Okay. It's a bit small. And there's a bathroom too?
Okay.
To a mysterious hotel somewhere around the corner,
I guess, to see if there's a better option there for the same price.
Electricity, maybe? No, I think.
504, check. Open.
They check, okay? This okay? Uh, yeah. This have two beds. Okay, can we see this one too?
Oh, it doesn't come with? It doesn't come with any?
I'm walking. Thank you.
Oh my god. It's interesting that they had us just like leave immediately from that first one. Like,
they must just all be the same family running these two different hotels, but it was kind of
hard to opt to not stay in the- because obviously the first one we saw was a bit worse than this one,
but I don't know what we would have said to go back to the old one after this quite generous
upgrade. Right this way.
What up? Welcome to my crib.
Here we are in Bangkok's worst reviewed hotel. The best thing about this room, I think, is hands
down. Gotta be the fact that it has a working AC. We would be absolutely dying in here right now if
it did not. A little bit of a catch-22. The door to the balcony doesn't close, so it's not exactly
airtight. There have been quite a bit of construction noises on and off since we've
been here. We also haven't seen any cockroaches or- and there isn't exactly very many mosquitoes
in here. I did get eaten basically everywhere when we were just walking through the various
lobbies throughout this entire experience. Some massive stain here, but no real signs of
bed bugs, which is really great. There's definitely things in here and many various stains.
Oh boy. Ew, it's so big. Some ear buds, a broken phone, and a bunch of wood chips.
Now we've got the bathroom, which I thought was a bit strange that it doesn't come with
toilet paper. I think it was something, and I heard this in the reviews as well,
that it didn't come with toilet paper because it backs up the toilets. He kind of just
pointed out the trash, but I guess either just using that as an excuse to not have to provide
toilet paper. He also said you can go to 7-Eleven and use their bathroom.
Did he really? I didn't even hear him say that. It blocks the toilet?
So they've got a nice opened pre-used soap. Wait, where is it supposed to drain?
Oh, in the opposite corner. Oh, in the exact opposite corner of the room. Okay,
I want to find out if there's hot water. Simplistic plumbing. We've got the water coming
straight from the sink just through this pipe and straight into the floor. And also,
I don't know who I was kidding, it's for sure not hot water here. I was also surprised they did
provide towels. No toilet paper, but they got towels. And also, we've got this fridge here,
which is a little bit scary. It's kind of a scary looking fridge. This fridge smells the worst.
It smells so bad. It's so moldy, and I literally can't even talk with it open.
It's so moldy, and it also just does not work. It's like super hot in there. Speaking of mold,
there's definitely a lot happening on the ceiling. I'd say the people who were working
here were decently friendly. I wouldn't say it feels like the most safe setup for a hotel,
but they actually do have a somewhat good locking system, but at least they've got that.
Okay, now we're going to really put this place to the test and see
how good their internet connection is. Seems like it's doing really well. Max, translate.
It's actually not bad. Oh, well. There you have it, folks. Not the worst internet I've ever been
exposed to, so one point for this place. Oh, gosh. All right, next up on this room tour,
I have purchased a UV light, and we are going to examine just how clean this place really is.
Hey, you want to come to my hostel? Please, no.
Oh, God. This is so gross. I could have gone this entire experience without having this
information. Okay, cabinets. It's actually looking decently clean.
Keep in mind that this place is an upgrade that was given to us from the management when we got
here. The man who checked us in originally didn't even want to show us the room that we had gotten
for roughly about $13 a night. Just looked it up online. This upgrade is worth twice as much,
and I would have to say that I personally would rate this place around a two-star,
solely based alone on the fact that it has working AC, which is a lifesaver in Bangkok,
and it has relatively good internet access. I've personally stayed in a lot of hotels and hostels
that look very similar to this place over the years because I have been a budget traveler.
I think that it's good to travel on a budget if that's the only option that you have. Of course,
staying in places that are the best reviewed is an amazing experience, but it is not essential
just to be able to get out here and have interesting travel experiences, even though
you may have to bring your own toilet paper. Only about a 20-minute taxi ride across the city,
and we are in an entirely different spectrum of accommodation now. Once again, I scoured the
internet for the best reviews I've actually ever seen for a hotel ever, which without further ado,
here we are at the highest rated hotel in all of Bangkok. So let's go see how it compares to the
last one. My first impressions walking into the lobby of this hotel is, wow, it smells so good.
It's also so dog-friendly here. I've seen so many adorable dogs running around and barking in the
lobby. There's ice cream, there's this beautiful restaurant making coffees and cocktails,
and it looks like they have breakfast all day, which is amazing. So I'm actually really excited
to go check out not only the room here, but also the pool and gym areas as well. There's a
just a little bit more things to see in this hotel than the last one. Oh my gosh, I cannot believe
how insane this hotel room is. You can literally run over here, and there's like a full bar setup.
There's a very nice espresso machine, mini fridge that does not smell like mold like the last one
did. A full six-person dining room. I mean, there's not like a full kitchen, but you could
have a dinner party here. Oh, there's a spare bathroom. There's multiple bathrooms for when
you're entertaining people in your living room. This has got to be my favorite part of this entire
room. Look at this bathtub. It's absolutely gorgeous. This looks like the hairdryer that
I've seen on TikTok. The woman was telling us that these are like custom-made, beautiful.
Whoa. A little flashlight that just turns on as soon as you... Wow. I've never seen anything like that.
I've never seen one of these in my life. Apparently, this is a speaker, but like
I don't... I kind of just want to like tap it. I don't understand why this speaker
looks like this, but it's pretty great. Also, this has got to be the best part. The sheer curtains
pull back automatically. This is just... It's just too good. And this bed, the way that this bed
is folded, like look at this fold. Can you believe that? How do you do that? Why can't I do this in
my own house? It's like perfectly polished. Like I don't even want to touch this bed because it
looks so nice. And I'm not even going to insult this bed by even insinuating or thinking for a
second that there may be bedbugs in here because, wow, this looks way better than my house even does.
And you can even start to see the pool from up here. So I think I want to explore the rest of
this hotel, but wow, you can definitely tell that this hotel room costs roughly 70 times more than
the last hotel room we were visiting. And I think my favorite part of this balcony is the fact that
this door actually closes all the way, unlike the last hotel. Okay, here's another moment of truth.
The worst rated hotel actually had pretty decent internet. So now that we've connected
onto the internet here, let's test and see how these compare. If this doesn't score as well
as the other places' Wi-Fi, that's going to be hilarious. Okay, it wins by a landslide.
Very little comparison. That's some of the best Wi-Fi I've ever seen, probably.
So, sorry, worst hotel. Not going to beat this one quite yet.
We have worked up quite an appetite after reviewing these different hotels, and wow,
this spread looks absolutely amazing, especially considering the last hotel didn't even have a
restaurant. But thank you so much for watching this video. If I should do more hotel reviews
around the world, let me know in the comments. And until next time, let's push our limits.
