Hello again and welcome. September is here, the kids have gone back to school,
there is a whiff of autumn in the air and that can only mean one thing.
It's time once again for the Lloyds Tour of Britain.
The crowd line is Vermeer's Dixie but here comes Lewis Askey, the British rider.
Lewis Askey goes supersonic on the Michael Gate and is going to power home here.
It is the power of Philip O'Gannor, he's trying to close the gap down
but it is not going to be enough. It's a British win on stage one of the Lloyds Tour of Britain
and it goes to Lewis Askey ahead of O'Gannor and Wellands. What a ride!
Yeah, it's amazing, especially to have my grandparents there. It was super special to
have everyone there at the finish. As I was saying, to win bike races is why I ride my
bike. It's that super special feeling. Hello and welcome to stage two of the
Tour of Britain men. It's the second consecutive day in the county of Lincolnshire. You're looking
at Boston which is hosting the start of a long and flat stage that will finish
in September sunshine on the seafront in Skegness.
But now Jasper Stuyven starts to make his move. Ethan Werner trying to find his way through.
Olaf Koy straight down the centre of the load. It's going to be between Olaf Koy and Tim Malir.
Koy's got the front Malir in the sushi but Olaf Koy comes through to take it for Decathlon.
Olaf Koy makes it one apiece between the heavyweight sprinters.
Yeah, it's always nice to get a win. I think, especially after yesterday, I want to try and
really do my sprint at the right moment. With the headwind I really had to wait for that moment but
yeah I could find my way through and then open up. A day that could shake up the general
classification and a day for the race leader Lewis Askey to defend that green leaders jersey.
We head into the queen stage, stage four, with nine riders separated by 40 seconds.
Lewis Askey in green as the start and the rollout is given. This is our neutralised section.
Kees Boal, his last win coming in 2022. Kees Boal comes off the wheel. Tim Wellens has no answer
to the big Dutchman. Kees Boal of Decathlon CMA CGM team is going to welcome return here
in Great Britain when he takes the victory. Kees Boal, what a ride. All day in the breakaway,
manages to stay with them and hang on to the finish. Yeah, unexpected for me. I was going in
the break actually to help my teammate Dan but yeah I found myself in the leading group on the
top of the last climb and then yeah I knew the stage win was possible. Hello and welcome to the
Scottish Borders. It's the final day of racing in the Tour of Britain men today. A stage of 156
kilometres from the little town of Earlston and back into Earlston. Over three categorised climbs
and some wild and wet and windy conditions. This race is not done yet. And UAE team Emirates XRG
take the stage of victory. Phenomenal win for Niels Pollitt. It's going to be his teammate
Florian Vermeers that makes it a one-two and Philippe Organa looking for the third spot
on the podium here. Oh actually we were thinking that today is the sprint stage but then we were
coming up this climb and yeah Niels was giving it a try and we were there with the whole team.
I have to thank the boys. It was an amazing week, amazing day also for me and yeah this
victory is for my grandpa. He passed away some weeks ago so yeah I need to give him something back.
Please welcome your winner Tim Wellens. He's got the full set of Giro,
Welter and Tour de France stage wins. But he takes the Lloyds to Europe and that green jersey.
Yeah indeed not only for me but after today for the whole team. So now it was a very successful
week we came here for the GC and then today we also have this stage victory so everything been perfect.
