Sports Card Investor: My Wife Rips Boxes Chasing Shaq Rookies!
34 Video Views·Sep 6, 2026
Guess what, babe?
What?
I got a box of cards from Shaq's rookie year.
Okay, you're going to let me open this?
You want to rip it?
Yeah.
Let's do it.
Okay, so this is a serious box.
I hope you're ready to open up a lot of cards.
Feel that.
Okay, this is hefty.
It's heavy.
They don't make boxes like this anymore.
Now, they're, you know, thinner with less cards.
You got a little bit of shrinkflation going on.
It says 36.
Is that, that's the number of packs?
36 packs, and I think 14 or 15 cards per pack.
Okay, and this is, this is where we're going to find all the Shaq?
I hope so.
There's no guarantees, but Shaq actually has three different
cards that we can try to find in here, all of which are rookie
cards, and there's actually a lot of other good rookies in
this product as well.
This was Alonzo Morning's rookie year, Robert Ori, Latrell
Sprewell, so there's a number of good rookies you can find.
But Shaq, is that Shaq like the best card we're going to get
out of here?
Shaq and Michael Jordan.
Oh, but not a rookie Michael Jordan.
No, not a rookie Michael Jordan, but Michael Jordan cards
can still be very valuable, especially what will really
dictate the value of these cards is how they grade when they
come out of the packs.
Oh, so I should stop doing that to the box?
I don't know.
Sorry, I'll be more gentle to the box.
We could be a little bit gentle here.
That would be perfectly fine.
Let me actually show you this.
And by the way, I need to give a shout out to Arena Club.
We're in the Arena Club studio here inside Cards HQ.
Have you ever heard of the Sports Card Investor app?
Well, I mean, I've heard of it, but I do not have this on my phone.
Okay, I know you have Market Movers now.
I do have that, yes.
So the Sports Card Investor app is actually a free app that
shows you visually what different cards from different sets
look like.
So this would be quite useful to me, actually.
This is super useful.
So what I did in the search bar is I put 1992 Ultra Basketball.
Okay, that's the name of this.
Yeah, this is 1992 Fleer Ultra is the box that we're going to
open and it shows you right here what all of the key cards are.
So this with the sort of mosaic situation in the back.
That's what we're looking for.
That is Shaquille O'Neal's All Rookie card.
So he had three different cards in the set.
This is one of them.
So we're going to look for this one and you can see if you go
over here looking at PSA 10, if we look at recent sales, it's
about a $1,000 card if you get this and if it were to grade a
PSA 10.
Okay, so there's actually quite valuable cards from this.
There's the Jordan.
This is Michael Jordan's NBA Jam Session card.
So we hope to find one of these and if I look at sold, it's
about a $1,250 card.
Wow, okay.
So, you know, there's definitely good cards in here.
This is Alonzo Morning's Rookie card, one of the other rookies
from the set.
That one's not nearly as valuable.
You know, about a $40 card, but he's still not as exciting.
This is another Michael Jordan, All-NBA First Team.
This one is about $1,000.
Not all of these cards.
This is Series 2.
So not all of these cards are going to be in here, but a lot of
these cards will be.
There's Robert.
So there's another box of this called Series 1, right?
Which didn't have the rookies.
So in order to get a Shaq rookie, you got to go to Series 2.
This is his base card.
So this is the most common Shaq rookie card.
From the set.
And that's about a $400 card in PSA 10.
Oh, you're right.
Got to go to sold.
There you go.
Thank you.
Still about a $400 card, right?
So we just switched from for sale to sold.
But yeah, that's what they've sold her recently.
So around $400.
By the way, good catch on the app there.
I did.
I'm a quick study, Jeff.
I see you're a quick study.
There you go.
So that shows you some of the... and then there's one more Shaq card.
Hold on.
There's Alonzo Morning again.
This one.
I've seen this one.
Yeah, this is called Rejectors.
Because I've seen this cartoon at like at card shows.
I've seen this one.
Yes.
Yeah, that's a fun one.
A lot of people like this.
This is actually the most valuable of the Shaq rookie cards in PSA 10.
This one's going to do upwards of actually as high as $1,400.
It looks like it's sold a lot since when I saw it at a card show.
That's a very popular one.
Should have bought that one.
So there you go.
So that's the Sports Card Investor app.
Okay.
Totally free.
You got to get that.
And that shows you a few of the things we're looking for.
Okay.
Would you like to do the honors?
Oh, well, I'm scared now.
You just told me that if they're messed up and not as valuable.
There you go.
You're good.
I don't know if I did it.
Yeah, you did.
No, you don't have to keep cutting.
You just kind of...
You can just kind of...
You do the honors.
Oh, you're doing good.
Scared.
Look at you.
Oh, it's so scary.
How long?
How old is this?
Do some math.
1992.
22, 24 years.
Is that right?
This would have been my freshman year of high school.
Did you do your math right on that?
92, 2002, 2012.
No, it's 30.
30 years?
34 years.
Not 24 years.
34 years.
It's a journalism major, you guys.
Here's all your backs inside.
Yes.
Good thing.
Good thing you aren't like trying to solve the world with quadratic equations.
No.
Do not hire me as your accountant.
All right.
So there you go.
There's your 36 packs.
14 cards per pack.
Okay.
And they had...
This was pretty fancy for the time to have foil packs.
Because, you know, most old cards came in what were called wax packs.
Okay.
That's how the name wax comes...
Right.
I think it was...
I think it was Upper Deck in 1989 baseball.
Wait, are you not going to let me open the first one?
Ladies first.
I just got excited.
I see that.
I just got very excited.
And now, of course, you got to do it up here on the screen.
You got to see that.
You got to let the people out there see.
All right.
Here we go.
But 1989 Upper Deck was the first year that they had foil packs like this, I believe.
And it's kind of a sign of like a nicer set.
So those are backwards.
So I guess they're kind of all turned around.
Well, where's the front?
Because that's backwards too.
How do you know what the front is?
Well, both are back.
There is no front.
Okay.
Great.
I'm going to need you to jump in because I...
It's okay to not have heard of those people.
Still never heard of these people.
It's okay.
That's okay.
We got a Playmakers Mark Price.
He was a good player.
Oh, yeah?
Uh-huh.
The bottom on the right?
Tim Perry.
Okay.
We got a rookie.
We got our first rookie right there.
Richard Dumas.
Does that mean anything to you?
Yeah, it's okay.
It's no Shaquille O'Neal.
Well, I mean, very few people are.
There's a lot of rookies in here.
And I think there are 40 different rookies that you can get out of this.
Oh, Sean Kemp.
He was a great superstar.
It's a neat like picture, like that one.
It's a good card to, like a good collector card there.
Robert Parrish.
Another star from back in the day.
Keith Jennings.
Yeah.
No?
These are very stuck together.
Yeah, that can happen with the old sets.
Do you know what the term for that is?
Stuck?
No.
I don't know.
Bricked.
Brick?
Yeah, they're bricked together.
Oh, they become like a brick.
They can become like a brick.
You guys just have terminology for everything, don't you?
Do you want me to open the next pack?
Yes, we'll go back and forth.
We're going to go back and forth.
Okay, and we do have like 36 packs to go through.
So I am going to have a speed up.
I'm going to have a speed up a little bit here.
Well, I don't have confidence that I'm going to like recognize
a good one.
So I felt like I needed to go a little slow so you could see
it.
That's why I'm at your side, babe.
Okay.
I got you.
Scotty Pippen.
There you go.
See, you got to, you knew that.
See, I would have been like Scotty Pippen.
We'll put that in the nice pile.
Okay.
Now that was Michael Jordan.
Then we would have really been on to something.
I need to get his teammate.
But Scotty Pippen is still pretty cool.
So I'm really hoping we get a Shaq.
How come there's no gum in these?
They, for like the higher-end cards, they stop that practice.
At the time, most of the card manufacturers were still putting
gum in cards, but this was kind of the era where it started
to phase out.
They started to feel like the gum was no good.
Here's a rookie, Dom McLean.
Okay.
I give that an okay.
Checklist card.
So that's if you were building the complete set.
These used to, they don't do these anymore, but they used
to come in sets because this is, you would actually check
off as you got the cards.
That seems like a great idea.
Because people don't really try to build complete sets in
the same way they used to.
Yeah, but at least just tell me what's in there.
Yeah.
Charles Barkley.
Hey, there's your boy.
The Round Mound of Rebound.
One of the best nicknames ever.
Do you know that?
I did.
The Round Mound of Rebound.
That does not sound like a compliment.
I think he was pretty happy with that name.
Really?
I think he likes it.
I don't know about that.
Oh, here's another.
Charles Barkley.
Oh, look at that.
So we got, yeah.
So we got, so that's once again, we got like a essentially
like an insert.
We got the, so the NBA Jam Session is that one right there.
Which one's the insert?
This one in my right hand.
Because you see how it says NBA Jam Session in the lower
left.
I do.
That's like a insert.
And then this one over here is the base.
Okay.
So this one's actually more valuable because the inserts
are more rare.
Okay.
Hey guys, let me take a quick second to tell you about the
Labor Day sale.
We've got going on right now on CardsHQ.com.
In fact, all of the boxes in front of me are 10% off on
CardsHQ.com right now, but only through Monday.
We've got football boxes on sale.
We've got basketball boxes on sale.
We've got baseball boxes on sale.
We've got some Pokemon on sale.
We've got some Disney and non-sports on sale.
We got Magic the Gathering on sale and more.
All you got to do is go to CardsHQ.com right now and
shop our sale items for Labor Day and maybe pick up a slab
or two while you're there as well.
And by the way, these cards look really nice.
So the opportunity to grade some of these is...
I haven't gotten too mushed.
Now, here's a fun fact.
Would you believe that these cards can sometimes be some
of the most valuable?
Oh, really?
Why do you think that is?
I guess because they don't do it anymore?
No.
Well, that would just be sensical that scarcity would
cause the value to go up.
Okay.
Tell me why then.
It's because people would actually check these off.
And so getting one of these like to actually grade like a
PSA 10.
That nobody put a pencil to it.
And also a lot of people just didn't keep them.
So people either threw them away or checked them off.
So as a result, there's not as many of them, right?
So sometimes if you're trying to build those...
Why don't you put that in the keep pile then?
I will move it to the keep pile.
Thank you.
There you go.
I don't know if they're like particularly valuable for this
set, but for some of the historic sets, they can be more
valuable.
A whole bunch of people I've never heard of.
Just a parade of people I've never heard of.
That's that cool Sean Kemp again and the Robert Parrish
again.
So we're getting some duplicates here.
And Keith Jennings again.
So we got three duplicates.
The challenge is if you get duplicates, you want to get
duplicates of Shaq.
Yeah, no kidding.
No.
No, and I think we should.
Like, I think the odds would say we should get at least a
Shaq base card.
Now, those inserts might be a little more difficult.
You having trouble there?
Yeah.
What's the problem?
Well, the foil packs can sometimes be hard to open and
especially when you get to the older foil pack.
I don't want to.
You don't want to ruin your Shaq.
I don't want to mess it up.
That one is a little tough.
Right?
What does it say on here to tell me?
Look for Ultra All-Star Rookie Subset.
Yeah, so that's one of those inserts that we're looking
for.
There you go.
Oh, thank you.
Oh, we got one of his teammates.
Incorrect player.
One of his teammates.
Here's your rookie.
Do you, have you ever heard of that guy?
No, actually.
All right.
Just going to be honest with you.
Sorry, Eric Anderson.
He's going to like flop.
No, there's Alonzo Mourning.
That's a good rookie.
Yep.
He was definitely the second-best rookie that year to
Shaq.
So we're going to sleeve that up there.
We should be keeping track of this.
Look at his eyewear.
It's kind of a neat.
You know, sometimes these old basketball cards are just fun
to rip just for the nostalgia.
Some of the old photos and everything like that.
A little disappointed that we're not keeping track of who's
opening the better card.
Should we start doing that?
Okay, you want to turn this into a contest?
I like to turn everything into a contest.
I know you do.
Do we have to do that?
All right, we'll do that.
We'll do that.
Oh, there you go.
I got another Alonzo Mourning rookie.
So clearly I'm winning now.
No, I got the last one.
All right, we'll start our contest now.
I'll let you stack up good cards on your side.
It's video evidence.
I'll stack up good cards on my side.
If you need me to help you open it.
I'm more than happy.
I just really don't want to mess it up.
They're a little tricky.
These things are tough.
These things are, you know, the cards are a little
little stuck together.
The full packs are a little bit hard to open.
So I'm noticing that there's nothing like signed.
There's no.
Yeah.
Pack.
There's no, none of that fun stuff, right?
And push that up a little bit there on the camera there.
There you go.
That is right.
So this was, this was like just a year or two before.
Doc Rivers.
Yeah, he was good.
And he's a good coach.
He's a, yeah, I do.
I like him.
Oh, you want to put that in your good pile?
We'll put that over there.
We'll put the Doc Rivers over there.
He's a good coach now.
That's why you've heard of him.
I'm just going with name recognition and that feels like
one.
Yep.
Well, yeah, he coaches.
He was the coach.
Oh, David Robinson.
There you go.
Doc Rivers was the coach last season for Milwaukee.
He's been around the league coaching quite a bit.
Who we got?
Anyway, so no patch.
Oh, look at that.
Look at that.
That's a really good card.
Insert, right?
That is.
Yes, that is the insert.
That's the NBA Jam session.
Okay, and so that's one of the ones that we looked at.
Oh, that's the one that was selling for around a thousand.
That is correct in a PSA 10.
And I mean, it looks pretty nice.
Is that a scratch on the card?
Is that just the design?
Is that like a little net thing?
See what I'm saying?
Right there.
You can see it on the camera right there.
It's so hard to tell.
Hopefully that's just the...
Hopefully that's just...
I think that's just the stadium.
Yeah, you know what?
Yeah, there it is.
It's on that too.
You can see it right there on the screen.
Yeah, so yeah.
Okay, so that's good.
Great.
So we're going to look at the edges and the corners.
And it looks pretty good.
That corner might be a little bit soft.
So it may not be a 10.
May not be a 10.
But it's pretty darn good, babe.
I like it.
It's pretty darn good.
What's the big win?
That goes in my pile.
That's more than we paid for the box, I think.
That is correct.
Yeah, these boxes aren't very expensive.
A couple hundred bucks.
Yeah, so that's already like...
We're up.
Up on the box.
Good for you.
By the way, shout out BCW.
They're the official supply partner of SportsCard Investor.
Got to get a little BCW shout out there.
All of our card sleeves, all of our top loaders are all from
BCW.
And if you want to stock up on card supplies of any type, if
you go to bcwsupplies.com and enter promo code SCI at checkout,
you get 10% off your entire supply order.
So there you go.
If you need some BCW supplies, go get them with promo code
SCI at checkout.
I definitely need some of those.
The way the kids go through them.
Like a thousand sleeves a day.
Steve Kerr.
He's now the coach of the Golden State Warriors.
Another huge one.
All right.
Well, I'm excited.
We got Michael Jordan.
Yeah, that's a big win.
But we do need Shaquille O'Neal.
Do people generally buy this box to rip or is it the type of
thing that people are buying and keeping in the, what would
we say, like plastic?
Yeah, a little bit of both.
Some people do that.
Some people like to buy old boxes just because they're kind
of collector's items in and of themselves.
Yeah, I think if you want to get like, oh, look at that,
babe.
Wait, but that's not the one we saw the picture of, but he
does. That is the base rookie.
That is the base rookie.
Yeah, so that's not one of the, not one of the inserts as
the base rookie.
Yes.
Good job, babe.
Although technically I pulled that.
I pulled the Shaq and I pulled the Jordan.
Whose idea was this contest?
Look at that.
We got you a Shaq.
Okay, put it in a sleeve.
We got you a Shaq for your collection.
That's great.
Little bit of a corner issue.
These upper right corners.
See that?
That's the only thing that might prevent that from, yeah,
those are the, that might prevent it from getting a 10,
unfortunately.
Yeah, the corners.
I don't really like it.
I don't have this one.
That's right.
That's what it's all about.
We rip this for the fun and the nostalgia.
There you go.
What do you think about Mr.
O'Neal?
That's great.
Yeah, that's a good looking card.
Nice looking card.
We got one.
Yeah, there you go.
All right.
This box has actually been pretty great.
It's been good.
Now, the question is, are we going to get two or are we
going to get one of those inserts?
Because the inserts are actually where you can get more.
I got a Karl Malone on the jam session.
The card with the list, the list card, the checklist.
Yes, checklist.
Ding, ding, ding.
Ding, ding, ding, ding.
It's like Final Jeopardy.
You were struggling there for a minute.
Look at that.
Oh, look.
Look at that.
Another Michael Jordan.
Yes, it is.
How do we get two?
I don't know, but the corners on that one look better.
The corners on that one look good, babe.
The corners on that one look really good.
The corners look good.
Babe, I might have a $1,000 card.
Wait, wasn't this my pack?
I stopped opening them.
So I'm going to assume at this point that this one was
mine.
Okay, I'll give it to you.
That one might need a grade.
We are winning.
Yeah, they're doing good here.
Latrell Sprewell, good rookie too.
Okay.
We're doing good.
Awesome.
All right, we might have to zoom through here a little bit
or this video is going to take like six hours.
All right, we're going to go back to here.
Why don't you open those?
I'll get them prepped for you.
Yes, perfect.
We'll do an assembly line here.
How about that?
Yes, great.
You can open the next one while I go through.
I kind of feel like I know who we're...
Oh, you saw the Lakers and then you know, right, you
wasn't on the Lakers.
It was like, that was like a big towering ball dude on
the Lakers.
But yeah, this was magic era here.
That's right.
Who do we got there?
Orlando.
Oh, Wooldridge.
Yeah, you know.
He was good.
He was in the slam dunk contest.
Well, yeah, that's what he's doing there.
I think.
Why are these all upside down?
Yeah, it's a good question.
Okay.
I'm going to try to get the sword order right before we
begin here.
It's like Pokemon.
There's like a pack trick.
All right, we got another Sprewell rookie.
Now they're all turned around.
I know.
What's going on?
Organization here.
My goodness.
I get the next pack for you.
You just get a lot of good value opening up this many.
You know, it's not, it's not like today's boxes and those
kids who just ripped through the box in 12 seconds.
How to put them to work back in these days.
Checklist.
Checklist card.
Yes, you are right.
Good call.
Good call on your checklist.
We have a brick situation.
Oh, got it.
Don't worry.
So yeah, this was like.
I was starting to say that.
I think we hit one of the big cards.
This was right before.
This was like a year or two before.
I know this person now.
Dikembe Mutombo.
He shook the finger.
You know how you like do that to me sometimes at night?
You know how you like, you're like, you're like, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no.
That was that guy.
Okay.
So is that a key for now?
Yeah, put in your key pile.
I like Mutombo.
All right.
I like Mutombo.
He was funny in commercials.
Are you gonna do another pack?
Well, yeah, you got to get ahead of yourself.
It was one of those inserts.
That's good.
Thought.
Maybe we'll let you be the official pack sorter through
and I'll just open up packs and arrange them for you.
Then we're going to pick up some speed.
So I was saying this was a year or two before they really
figured out like parallels and numbered cards and all that
kind of stuff.
Right?
So this was 1992.
Yes.
Yes, but not a great.
Not the Shaq one.
This David Robinson.
So, I mean, it is a good player, but that's called
the Rejectors and it's a kind of a short print insert.
So I think you basically, I think these are like one in
every 30 packs.
So that might be the only one we get in the box or possibly
we can get a second.
But if that was Shaq, that'd be very, very valuable.
David Robinson still a great player, but obviously not
rookie year and it's not Shaq.
So it doesn't have quite the same appeal.
But still pretty cool.
So we'll keep.
All right, here we go.
Yeah, so this was 1992.
So it was really 1993 was the first year there were refractors
and that was 1993 finest.
Hold those up just a little more.
There you go.
All right.
Just got to get used to doing it on camera.
I know it's new for you.
Oh, Doc Rivers, cool.
I mean, honestly, one Doc Rivers was probably enough, but
we'll preserve, we'll preserve Doc.
Wow, shots fired.
Yeah, you know, what do we have there?
Another David Robinson.
I'll just take that one.
Oh, you like him?
I do.
Okay, you better keep an eye out because I've only heard
of one out of every like 30 of these people.
Okay.
Yeah, this was 1992.
So they figured out refractors in 1993, but 1993 finest and
then they started to figure out number cards autos.
You had made the point like yeah, there's none of that.
They're actually there.
I think actually there were maybe in the first series the
ability to get a couple of autograph cards.
I think maybe 92 Fleer Ultra Series 1.
There were a couple of autograph cards in it, but they were
very not common and infrequent and it wasn't like nearly
as big of a thing.
As the 90s went on, you know, then they started to get really
into short print inserts and all that kind of stuff.
So, and you know, numbered cards and refractors and all
that stuff.
This was just on the early side of it, which is why, by the
way, this box cost about $200.
Charles Barkley.
There you go, the round mound.
Whereas the following year Fleer Ultra, the next year those
boxes cost like around $2,000 because the next year they
started putting short print, more short print inserts in the
boxes and they introduced what was called the Scoring Kings
insert the next year and that's Scoring Kings Michael Jordan
in PSA 10.
Oh, yeah, that's another Charles Barkley.
So that's his all that's his NBA Jam session.
The Michael Jordan Scoring Kings from the following year in
PSA 10 is like a $40,000 card.
Really?
Yeah.
So while the most valuable card from this box that you can
possibly get is like as we saw earlier on the Sports Card
Investor app is like 1,500 bucks the following year, you
could, you know, because they made short printed cards, you
can get a $40,000 card.
This looks different.
Is this some sort of insert?
Yeah, that is.
That's the Playmakers insert.
We've got and I think one other of those.
But not that great.
Well, just because it's not as popular of a player.
Hold those up a little bit.
I'm just going to just going to just put a little sign on
your forehead that says hold those up a little bit.
Yeah, when you're having to open cards for camera, not just
your personal enjoyment.
There becomes more factors to consider.
Look at this funny picture.
Can you see the guy's face?
Interesting photo for them to choose to use.
All right, you open a few.
Yes.
I feel like we need like you lost.
You lost some momentum.
Yeah.
Oh boy.
All right.
Well, I really would like to find one of the Shaq inserts.
So the All Rookie insert.
That's another Sean Kemp.
We just saw or the or the Rejectors insert those.
I want that Rejectors.
Yeah, the Rejectors is really cool.
I had a chance to buy that.
Where were we at the Not Forgotten?
Yeah, that'd be a good one to pick up.
And honestly, wherever you were probably was a third of the
price it is today because Shaq's market's gone absolutely
berserk.
So you should have bought it.
Clearly.
But at least your other Shaq cards have gone up.
I mean, that's good.
Yeah, we got one Rejectors.
I think as I said, I think they're one in every 30 packs
and there's 36 packs.
So that means you got a chance at a second one, but it's not
guaranteed.
All right, we got a card that's stuck together there.
They call that a brick.
And it was black then.
So not even that exciting of a card, but we did get another
Alonzo Morning Rookie card, ladies and gentlemen.
This is our third Akeem Elijah one card.
Yeah, same card.
Yeah, interesting.
Followed by Scottie Pippen.
We've seen him now a few times too.
I think we've gotten three of him.
Now, we have gotten two Michael Jordans, so I can't complain
about, I can't complain about that.
And your Michael Jordan's a little bit better than my
Michael Jordan.
And a Shaq.
And that's not a bad haul.
I mean, honestly, for 200 bucks, this is a pretty good
rip here.
Should get Reeves turned on to this product because you want
to do, you want to do this one?
All right, you're back.
You know, this is like blackjack where you have to like sit
out of hand.
You basically sit, you sit out of pack.
Yeah, I sat out of pack.
You sat out of pack.
Oh, mister.
This one's really messed up though.
Oh, is it?
Yeah.
Yeah, right there.
Your other ones.
Yeah, to be honest, but yeah.
Yeah, someone's messing with this box.
It was, it might have been me.
But you know what?
A Shaq's still a Shaq.
It's still a Shaq.
See, I knew it.
I took over this pack and I just knew Shaq was in there.
Did he call to you?
He did.
Was that your Shaq radar going off?
It was Shaq radar.
I think we learned about your Shaq radar during the last,
the last video we did together, a couple videos ago.
Kurt Rambis, that guy was funny.
He was funny glasses.
He was funny.
Did you see his funny glasses?
And I'll have to go back and show you his funny glasses in a
second and get through the rest of the pack.
He had very, like very era specific glasses.
See that guy?
That's true.
That is Kurt Rambis, ladies and gentlemen.
Clark Kent.
Yeah, kind of.
All right.
I think he would be very happy with that comparison actually.
I think he'd be thrilled for you to say it looks like Clark
Kent.
Clark Kent by day, basketball player by night.
All right, we got our checklist card there.
You want to do this one or you're not feeling Shaq?
Yeah, not feeling Shaq.
Okay, that rejectors card was really cool.
That David Robinson one we got.
Yeah, that Shaq one would look really, really nice.
Another Robert Ory rookie.
But we did get two Shaq so far and two Jordans.
So we can't complain.
Got about maybe about 10 packs left to go.
You do this one.
I'll flip these cards for you.
Oh, you see that's what we need of Shaq right there.
But that's Alonzo Mourning.
It is.
That's the second best rookie.
That's the second.
It is.
But that's that's the all rookie series.
So you're looking for Shaq here.
That's what you want.
I know.
But we're going to sell that one and buy the Shaq.
There you go.
You see that can be how it's done.
Are you want to do those?
Yeah.
I'm afraid that I've like some of them are stuck together
and I'm not noticing like I'm trying but it would be easy
to go past one that was stuck together and not know it.
That guy's name was Pooh.
We need the.
Brings a whole new meaning to you played like Pooh today.
This is the humor.
She has to put up with ladies and gentlemen.
Please send help.
I mean you take that as an insult or compliment if your
name's Pooh and then somebody said you played like Pooh
today.
I think if somebody says to somebody else on the team you
played like Pooh today.
Is that an insult or compliment?
I mean, I guess it depends on how you play.
I guess it depends on how Pooh played that day.
If Pooh played great and somebody else played like Pooh
then they played great.
What do you think that guy's real name is?
I mean surely that is not his.
You don't think his real name is Pooh?
I highly doubt that.
I don't know.
These are these are questions.
I'm not sure.
All right.
While I open this.
What can you find that out for me?
Oh, you want me to you want me to go to like you should I
do like a little.
Look here.
He is again.
Look see he's just he's.
There's Pooh.
He's begging us for.
Pooh Richardson.
To answer this question.
Inquiring minds guys.
Pooh Richardson.
American basketball player.
60 years old currently.
Okay, his real name was Jerome.
I regret to inform you that Pooh was simply a nickname.
His grandmother nicknamed him Pooh after Winnie the Pooh.
Oh, I was right.
And the nickname stuck.
So there you go.
All right.
Well, now, you know.
I was kind of hoping Pooh was his legally given name.
I was kind of hoping for that.
All right.
Come on Shaq.
We're going to zoom through these last packs.
We're we're we've taken our time here.
I'm going to zoom through here.
We did get another we did get another all-rookie team.
It is Harold Minor who actually was a pretty good player.
I never heard of him.
No, he was in NBA Jam.
Of course NBA the NBA Jam video game was big at this time,
which is by the way.
All I did my entire high school.
Just so you know, we didn't know each other in high school.
That's very sad.
Yeah, there's another Mutombo.
If you all I did in high school is hang out of the video game
arcade and play NBA Jam.
Do you mind if I just do some of these to zoom through here?
No, please.
I'm going to let you do the last couple of the last package
to Shaq.
Just put it over there.
Okay.
Yes, I spent ungodly amounts of time at the mall playing the
NBA Jam video game and I was very very good at it so much.
So this is a true story that I was in Orlando at a mall at
an arcade playing NBA Jam.
When do you remember the group?
You remember the group 95 South?
Of course.
Woomp.
There it is.
You remember Woomp?
There it is.
So I'm in the arcade.
I'm in high school and a guy from 95 South challenges me.
I didn't know he's from 95 South at the time.
Oh, we got another Rejectors, but it's another David Robinson.
Who is this guy?
Why is he doing this to us?
Man, I love David Robinson, but we need a Shaq Rejectors.
That's such a cool card.
But now we have two to sell to get the Shaq.
Yes.
Now you can sell two.
Two.
If anybody out there wants to trade a Shaq Rejectors for two
David Robinson Rejectors.
We got a deal for you.
We got a deal for you friend.
Boom.
Okay.
Were you like, hi, are you from?
So this guy challenges me.
We play a game of NBA Jam and I beat him soundly.
Soundly.
I think I beat him by 10.
I beat him pretty soundly.
And he says, he said, nobody has ever beaten me at NBA Jam
before, which I mean, to be honest, I wasn't surprised.
I was unbelievably good at NBA Jam.
I mean, people didn't really beat me at NBA Jam.
So I'm like, yeah, you know, I hear that a lot.
It's like no one's ever beat me at NBA Jam before.
And then he goes, I have a group called 95 South and he gave
me, he gave me their album.
Oh, and I said, you beat him and he gave you a gift.
He gave me the, he gave me their CD.
Seems like a nice guy.
He gave me their CD, their 95 South CD.
He gave me their CD.
At that moment in time, I had never heard of 95 South.
I don't think anybody in the world had heard of 95 South.
And then like a month later, they blew up.
This song called Whoop, There It Is comes on the radio and
everybody's talking about 95.
In fact, even in the song, don't they go 95 South?
I sincerely hope so.
I think they go 95 South at some point during the song.
They do.
And I remember, I was like, oh my God, that was the guy who
I beat in NBA Jam.
You missed your opportunity to get him to sign the CD.
I should have, I should have.
It would have been a collectible.
I don't.
Was it a tape?
No, it was a CD.
This was, I'm not that old.
Yes, you are.
No, I'm not.
Oh, look at that.
Another one.
Number three.
Sweet.
Wow.
That one looks good.
Yeah, it does.
That's what I said.
Man, look at all this.
Maybe we could even throw in a Michael Jordan in the trade
to get your Shaq Rejectors card.
What do you think?
Yes, that looks great.
It's hot.
We're hot now.
We're hot.
It's a good box.
Honestly, it has been a good box.
Yeah, those Jordans are greatable and really good.
Yeah.
All right.
Now, nice man at the Gainesville Card Show sold these boxes
to us.
He said he wanted to see the video.
He did.
Here you go, sir.
He was excited.
We were going to open them and we are opening them.
I wonder if he wishes he would have just opened it now.
Maybe.
After he saw this Michael Jordans come out.
Probably so.
Two Shaqs and three Michael Jordans out of this box.
I mean, that's pretty good.
I can't believe I never told you my 95 style story.
I'm gonna be honest, Jeff.
I've heard that story.
Yeah, I thought you had heard that story.
I thought I told you that story before.
I was just trying to be nice.
I was like, I think I've told you this story before.
Have I not?
But look, now everyone can enjoy the story along with me.
I'm like, have we not gone, you know, 20 years and me not
having told you my story about meeting 95 South?
How could I not have told you that?
That was one of the, that would be very out of character.
That was one of the cherished moments of my childhood of
like my high school years.
Like when somebody says, Jeff, how was high school?
I say, there it is.
Have I told you about that time?
I'm at 95 South and beat them in a game of NBA Jam.
That's what I say to people.
Do you remember the guy's name?
I don't.
Oh man.
I don't remember.
I do not.
I hope he likes sports cards and sees this.
That's probably not the case.
You never know.
But you never know.
Maybe it is the case.
Maybe he does see this.
Send us a DM.
Well, he's probably upset.
Oh, babe, babe.
Okay, that's good.
That's like these.
That one looks better.
I think.
The right upper, upper right corner is messed up.
Upper right corner is messed up.
They all kind of are.
The upper right corners on all these are a little bit messed
up.
They're the left too.
Yeah, but think how many shacks you now have to trade.
It's true.
So you get all these shacks now.
You get all these shacks.
You can trade people.
Wait, this one doesn't get a top loader.
Well, I'm actually, I'm out of time.
I got to open up a new pack of top loaders.
Got to get BCW supplies on the phone.
Okay.
Get some new top loaders delivered here to the studio.
Oh my gosh.
What is going on?
Oh my.
Michael Jordan and Shaquille O'Neal in this same pack.
That is awesome.
Look at that.
We can definitely get one of the shacks now.
We got to get, we got, come on.
We just, this is an abundance of riches.
An abundance of riches.
That is great.
Four Michael Jordans.
Wow.
Three Shaquille O'Neals.
Are you kidding me right now?
Unbelievable.
Are you kidding me?
I guarantee those that we're defying the odds right now.
We are defying the odds.
The odds are that you're going to get one or two of those cards,
I think.
I don't think the odds are that you can get like four Jordans
and three shacks.
I feel like you got quite a deal on this box, to be honest.
200 bucks.
200 bucks for this box.
You know what's going to happen now.
I guarantee.
You know what's going to happen right now?
Box prices go up.
These box prices are about to skyrocket on eBay.
People are going to watch this video.
Probably some people have already done it.
Charles Barkley.
They're already on eBay.
Buying up some of these boxes.
I mean, this was really fun.
It was good.
And just to be clear, because I know some people probably
accusing me right now in the comments.
No, I don't have any of these boxes for sale on eBay.
I'm not.
Yes.
Let me get it ready for you.
Let me let you know.
I'm not pumping the market.
Not pumping the market here.
And no, this is not a loaded box.
The management team of FLIR, which has not existed as a
company for 30 years.
Yeah, they did not show up yesterday and say, hey, Jeff,
open up this one.
That did not happen.
All right.
Last pack.
Wait, is this stuck together?
I don't think so.
Oh, it is stuck together.
Oh, this is what I'm telling you.
You need to go hiding a Walt Williams of all cards.
Because it really would be easy to have one stuck and not
know it.
That we've heard of him.
Yeah, the Charles Sprewell.
Nice rookie.
Got a couple of those.
Are we going to get last pack magic here?
I don't know.
That would be nice.
They really are stuck together, aren't they?
Really stuck together.
Maybe this was the bottom of the box or something.
Lakers rookie.
Okay, but look.
Look how great we did.
I mean, goodness gracious.
Just a pile of riches.
Tons of shacks.
Where are they?
Here we go.
Three shacks.
Shack attack.
Three shacks.
Here's Jordan.
Jordan.
I got two Jordans, right?
I think I don't even know.
We have so many Jordans.
We can't keep track.
Where's my Jordan?
Oh, here's one.
Here's one of my Jordans.
There you go.
And then we got these guys.
I think I have one more somewhere in here, too.
Here's my other Jordan.
Boom.
Look at that.
Four Jordans.
Four Jordans, three shacks, two David Robinson rejecters, and
one good ole time.
Yes.
Good times.
Super good.
Good times.
Good job, babe.
Awesome.
That's it.
All right, that's a wrap.
There you go.
