Hello everyone and welcome to Africa Revealed. My name is Debbie Austin and today I'm going
to be giving you a tour of the Jabi African Crafts and Arts Village. Stay tuned. So I'm here
at the Jabi African Arts and Crafts Market. There's a lot to see, there's a lot to buy,
so just keep watching, stay with me. I'm going to show you every part of this market.
Here is a beautiful collection of artworks, very beautiful collections.
But wait, before we continue on this tour, I'm going to show you what dress I am wearing.
It is a beautiful African piece made by my fashion designer here in Abuja, Dalbi Skichor.
So here I came across someone playing the talcum drum.
It is one of the oldest and highly stylized musical instruments used by master drummers.
Here we have a collection of beautiful hand-woven bags, baskets and hand fans all made from bamboo.
So I came across the store containing a large collection of dresses all made from beautiful
cotton batik fabrics. This bag is also made from the cotton batik fabric.
Amethyst. This is Amethyst. One of my Roscoe's. This is Roscoe's. And then from these stores,
these necklaces are made. So beautiful.
There are so many kinds of things here. It's basically a market where you come to get
variety of arts and crafts. There are just so many, so many and I'm still exploring.
So I asked the seller here to help me identify all the precious stones in his store and he did.
And by the way, I'm speaking household language with the seller.
And here we have a collection of old Nigerian currencies. So I came across this craftsman
and I asked him what he was making. He said he's making a kitchenware. It's a rack.
Though you can use it in other places aside your kitchen, like your bedroom. He says it costs
9,000 Nigerian Naira and I think it's really worth it. I mean,
considering the effort and manpower put into making this.
So you can use it to put your popcorn, your chocolate.
And here we have a collection of peacock feathers. They're beautiful. A beautiful collection of
earrings, different types, different shapes. I actually couldn't resist getting one for myself.
And here we have a collection of beautiful, beautiful handmade bags.
These bags are all made from the African fabric, Ankara. Another beautiful collection of hand-woven
baskets, pots, covers, hand fans, all made from bamboo. So we've come to the end of the tour of
