UGREEN is making a big move into the smart home with HomeAgent — a local AI smart home hub with Matter support, local storage, camera intelligence, and natural-language control.
I traveled to UGREEN’s launch event at Gillette Stadium to see HomeAgent in action, including voice control, Matter integrations, AI camera alerts, crying detection, security features, and more.

AI GeneratedUgreen has introduced HomeAgent, a local AI hub designed to centralize smart home control and security. By combining local storage, computing, and AI processing, it offers a privacy-focused alternative to cloud-based systems, allowing users to manage their homes via natural language and Matter-compatible devices without relying on an internet connection.
Have you heard of Ugreen?
You've probably heard of Ugreen, right?
They make some really nice tech accessories,
some great NAS systems.
Well, they are about to do something big
in the smart home space.
They just dropped something new,
something brand new,
unlike anything I've seen before for your smart home.
And they invited me out to Boston
to learn more about it at their live event.
I'm excited.
Let's go check it out.
Big thanks to Ugreen for sponsoring this video
and bringing me out to Boston to attend their live event.
All right, so I knew Ugreen was gonna get more
into the smart home space
because I remember them showing off
some smart home cameras a little while ago
at one of the big tech trade shows,
but I had no idea they were gonna go this hard.
They just introduced a new product called HomeAgent.
It's a living local intelligence for your smart home.
So when they asked if I wanted to fly to Boston
to learn more and see it in action,
I couldn't resist.
All right, so there's already different ways
you can integrate AI into your smart home already,
but they often either rely on cloud processing
or they're just very tedious and difficult to set up.
And often they're pretty slow
when you're running them locally.
Ugreen HomeAgent seems different
because it's an agentic AI hub for your smart home
that can run locally and it works right out of the box.
With local storage, local computing,
and local AI at its core,
you can manage your home security
and control your entire home using natural spoken language.
Ugreen was kind enough to send me a HomeAgent
and some cameras just before I left for this event.
So I did get some early hands on with it,
but I didn't really get a whole lot of time with it
before the event.
I wanted to come out here to see what all it can do.
They're gonna have some demos set up
and we can really learn a lot about this thing
and see if this could be the future of our smart homes.
♪ That we can, that we can, that we can, that we can do ♪
I made my way into the event located at Gillette Stadium,
home of the New England Patriots,
where Ugreen started with an opening presentation
introducing their new AI OT strategy and new products.
The centerpiece of all this is HomeAgent
and the basic idea is to combine three things,
local storage, local AI processing, and smart home control.
and they kept coming back to privacy
throughout the presentation.
Your camera recordings, photos, smart home data,
AI processing, all stays inside your house,
which means better privacy,
faster and more reliable connections,
and even if there's an internet loss,
it can still run on your local area network.
They actually introduced three versions of the HomeAgent,
the H100, the one that I have,
which is essentially the main consumer model,
probably the one most people would be interested in.
Then there's the H100 Pro
with substantially more compute power,
and then the absolutely insane MasterAgent
powered by NVIDIA hardware that starts at around $20,000.
You heard that right.
I'll probably just stick with the H100.
They also introduced their new camera lineup,
a smart speaker, digital E-Ink frame,
and some new Qi2 25-watt charging devices
with liquid cooling.
After the presentation,
we got to go hands-on with everything.
HomeAgent can act as a matter controller,
which means you're not limited
to only Ugreen smart home products.
So with the HomeAgent,
you can use natural voice commands and natural language
to control your other smart home devices
like smart shades and lights,
and it supports matter,
so you can connect third-party matter devices
to the HomeAgent and then control them
through this all locally, which is pretty cool.
Let's give it a try.
Hi, Yulia.
I'm here.
Turn on the light in the living room.
Light is on.
Well, the light came on.
Hey, Yulia.
Turn off the light in the living room.
Light is off.
Oh, there we go.
It works.
And obviously, these lights and shades
are not made by Ugreen.
These are third-party matter devices
that you can pair to the Ugreen HomeAgent
and control and automate in your smart home.
Hey, Yulia.
Close the curtains.
There we go.
And the goal is for HomeAgent to understand
what you actually want using natural language,
then figure out how you wanna make it happen.
I'm definitely looking forward to testing this
much more when I get back home.
And just like their NAS systems,
HomeAgent can run apps including Docker,
meaning you can even install Home Assistant on it.
We also got that new line of cameras
that work directly with the system.
Because the AI processing happens locally,
HomeAgent can analyze what's happening around your house
and recognize things like people, vehicles, pets,
security events, and more.
You can even ask the HomeAgent where your dog is.
The local AI can identify key events,
potential risk, and alert you when needed.
So you can get smart alerts for unusual activity,
your baby crying, or a stranger showing up at the door.
All right, so when the baby starts crying,
we're gonna get a notification on the HomeAgent
as well as on your phone or other devices.
Baby crying detected.
Please go take care of the baby.
The camera detects the crying,
HomeAgent understands what's happening,
and pushes out an alert to your devices.
You can also define areas around your home
that you want monitored,
and if someone enters one of those zones,
HomeAgent can recognize the event and take action.
All right, entering the monitoring zone.
Warning zone.
Right here.
Entering private property.
Getting a warning.
Pretty cool.
Alert zone.
Pretty nice.
You can even use natural language to ask things like,
did anyone come to the front door today?
And it will search through your locally stored
camera history and find an answer for you.
This is where Ugreen's experience with NAS and storage
starts to make a whole lot of sense
for a new home product like this.
Again, they also showed off some additional products
like this smart speaker that you can pair to the HomeAgent
and get voice control in multiple rooms
throughout your house.
They also have that color e-ink smart frame
that will display photos stored on your HomeAgent.
Again, all local.
Ugreen also announced Patriot's cornerback,
Christian Gonzalez, as their new global brand ambassador,
which now makes sense why they had this event
at Gillette Stadium.
I also got a hands-on look at their new wireless
fast chargers, including the world's first
liquid-cooled Qi2 25-watt magnetic power bank.
I've always liked the Ugreen charging accessories,
and I am excited about these.
But as you can imagine, the HomeAgent is easily
the one thing I am most excited about from this event.
Now, this is all still very early,
and I do look forward to testing this much more
in my everyday life once back home.
But the concept is pretty compelling
and makes a whole lot of sense.
Matter Smart Home Control, local camera storage,
local AI processing, natural language interactions,
all running from a box inside your house.
All right, so I gotta say,
pretty impressed with everything I saw here.
Easy to set up local AI for your smart home
really has me excited.
I'll put links to everything down below
in the video description if you wanna learn more
about Ugreen's new HomeAgent.
You can reserve one right now for $50
and save 50% on the overall price.
I definitely can't wait to get back home
and put this thing to use in the real world.
If you wanna see a future video on that
or more smart home content,

Thanks so much for watching,
and I'll see you in the next one.
