The Battle of Megiddo in 1458 BC marks the first battle for which we have in-depth and reliable historical description i.e., “written history” as opposed to pre-history. Ancient Egypt receives intel of a mounting threat in Canaan, so pharaoh Thutmose III leads his first military expedition into Canaan to face a great force of Syrians, Canaanites, and other allies gathered under the Prince of Kadesh.
