The Barn by Carney Logan Burke Architects is a 2,416-square-foot guesthouse in Wilson, Wyoming, completed in 2016. Inspired by traditional 19th-century American barns, the design combines a familiar barn form with contemporary architectural elements. Reclaimed barnwood covers both the exterior and interior, while punched windows, a pitched roof, exposed trusses, and cedar shakes reinforce its rural character. The main design contrast comes from a large second-story gridded glass wall facing the Tetons, bringing natural light, ventilation, and expansive mountain views into the upper level. The building also combines a guest suite, workout area, and spacious garage, creating a practical structure that connects traditional materials and construction references with modern living.
