Mumbai Police have detained two individuals, identified as 28-year-old Rohan Parekh and his armed private security officer Dilip Kunde, at Jio World Plaza in the Bandra Kurla Complex ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address at the Global Fintech Fest. Parekh allegedly gained entry using a fake Prime Minister's Office identity card describing him as a Grade C official. Security personnel intercepted Kunde after recovering a firearm and live cartridges, prompting an inspection of Parekh's credentials, which lacked validity dates and proper issuer designations. Police contacted the Special Protection Group and launched a search for a third suspect, Prathamesh Ganesh Bagul. A case under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered at BKC Police Station. In court, Parekh's counsel claimed he fell victim to an elaborate con involving fraudulent appointment letters signed in the Prime Minister's name. Mumbai Police clarified that the arrest did not cause any security breach concerning the Prime Minister's visit.
