Spanish parliament backs granting citizenship to Western Saharans born during Spanish rule

Spain's parliament has approved a law granting Spanish citizenship to tens of thousands of Western Saharans born before September 29, 1977, and their descendants. This move recognizes the end of the decolonization period and provides a path to nationality for an estimated 80,000 to 200,000 eligible individuals.
