Hi everyone, I'm Ellie from Ellie's Exotics and today is going to be a chaotic one,
okay? I am prepping for a trip. I go away for a couple of weeks in like three days. Within the
next three days I have to get all the animals clean, all the animals fed and everything ready
for the pet sitter. Usually I'm really good with keeping on top of these things, especially when
it comes to editing as well. I'll like backlog a bunch of videos but I'm not gonna lie guys,
there has been so much going on and I've got so much to do. Everything has just been a bit chaotic
but anyway, the animals still need their enclosures cleaning, no matter how chaotic my life is at the
moment. So the plan for today is to take out all the snakes bar Marmite, my Kenyan sand boa. He
doesn't need spot cleaning but the rest do. I also need to spot clean Tim Tam, my barking gecko,
and I need to spot clean Egg, my leopard gecko. I'm gonna go through my bioactive setups as well
and give them a spray and just do the daily maintenance that they need and take out any
poops that I do see but the main enclosures that need doing today are the naturalistic ones or the
ones without live plants. So anyway, let's get right into it. It's so warm in here, there are
so many heat lamps in here but we're gonna get it done. Let's start with Chai, my Dumeril's boa,
who can be a little bit sassy. I need to take her out to get out the shed and I also need to take
out some poop she's done so let's do that first. You know what, actually we're gonna start with
Bikki because he's in a really good spot and once I start faffing about with enclosures he's gonna
start coming out thinking I'm feeding him. Yeah, let's do Bikki first. He's just in his hide there
so let me pull him out and pop him into this travel container whilst I clean his enclosure.
Here is Mr Bikki. He's such a big boy, I cannot believe how big he's gotten. Since he's gone into
his six foot viv, he has literally gotten huge. But anyway, let's get him in here. There we go,
good boy. There he is in his box. He used to be so tiny. I used to take him to shows in this box
and he would like barely even fill up the corner. Now look at him, my big boy. Okay, let's get
everything out of here. I haven't done like a full take everything out and redo the enclosure in
quite a while with Bikki. It's quite nice, it's good enrichment for him. Okay, let's start taking
the poops out. He's done so many poops. I mean they're mainly peas to be honest but there's a
few poops in here. He's a big boy, he eats big meals so there's a lot of poops. And I'm just
gonna mix up his substrate whilst I'm here to make it all light and fluffy again and I'll find
any poops along the way. And onto this side and do the same again over here. Give everything
a good mix and look for any more poops. I'm gonna hydrate his substrate a bit now using my spray
bottle just so it's not as dusty and dry. Let's give this a bit of a mix again and you can see
now it just has a little bit more moisture in it. Woma pythons are a fairly arid species anyway
so I don't want it to be like soaking wet in there but a little bit of humidity in that soil is good
for him. All right, so that is Bikki all spot cleaned. I can pop everything back in the enclosure
now. I'll take off these gloves too, throw those away and then Bikki can go back into this enclosure
as well. I'll start with his big pieces of cork bark. This is his favourite one. He always sits
inside that tunnel but I am kind of getting a bit scared that he's gonna get stuck. He loves
this cork bark piece as well and then he's got one hide over here and another hide on this side and
he's got his branches. He loves to climb. That's one thing I love about Womas is they'll utilise
all the space in the enclosure. Let's pop this one over here and then he's got this branch as well.
Where should we pop that one? Maybe put that one there. Of course he's got to have his crocodile
back. He's had that since he was a little baby and now it's just time to pop his fake plants back in.
All the water bottles are already clean. I did those yesterday so Bikki can go straight back
into his fresh clean enclosure. Are you ready Bikki? Ready to go back into your nice clean cage?
I know I've said this so much but I cannot believe just how big he has gotten and he'll probably get
even bigger to be honest but that looks much better. Let me make sure to lock up his enclosure.
You exploring your nice clean enclosure? Oh look at you. I love Womas because they appreciate when
you do something for them like clean their enclosure or at least it's appreciation in my eyes.
Let's move on to Chai now. Okay on to Chai. Let's see how this goes because she can be interesting
to get out. I'm gonna take her stuff out as well. Just take that off of her. Calm down Chai.
This is the thing is she's a bit of a runner. She's a track star okay but she is getting better.
Okay where's my hook? Come here. Oh it's okay. Who's the pretty girl? I know. Oh Chai what the? Okay
let's give her a moment. She does freak herself out a bit. What happened there is she got caught
on the brace of the vivarium at the top and then she was trying to hide and the place she was
trying to hide was her heat lamp so obviously that was a bit warm and that just stressed her out even
more but she seems okay now. This is the thing is once she's out of the enclosure she is actually
okay. It's just getting her out that can be a bit of a nightmare. We've got Bikki looking at us as
well. Okay Chai let's get you into this box so I can clean you but where is your lid? You can't
say hi to Bikki. Bikki probably would want to eat you not gonna lie Chai. Where are you going? I
don't know how I'm gonna get you in this box. I need to get a bigger travel container for my snakes.
What should we do Chai? You need to let go of me. Come on Chai. Good girl. There we go. We've got
Chai in a box. Now she can be cleaned out. Okay now let's just start looking for poops. I could
have sworn I saw a poop over here maybe. Yeah there it is. There was still some moisture underneath
which is nice. That's all good. I probably need to get her some new leaf litter soon too and then
I'll mix it up on this side as well. Oh this side is a bit drier actually. Let me give this side a
spray. And this has revealed a poop to me at the back. Give it a good mix. Oh there's some isopods
in here. That might be why there's not that many poops then. Whoa there's loads of isopods. All
right I think that's good to go for her. There weren't that many poops in there today. Let's pop
all of her stuff back in. Starting with this log on her cool side and then she's also got this one.
This is like her warm side log and then she's also got this piece of cork bark that goes over here.
Her water bowl just goes there. Her enclosure I really like. I think it's cluttered up quite
nicely. This branch is what makes it though to be honest. This big like twisty one. I got this
from Shirley Platics and she does really like this. It's great for climbing which she doesn't
really do very often to be honest. But it looks really nice. I give Chai like loads and loads of
clutter just because she is a bit of a timid snake. I like her to feel nice and comfortable
in her enclosure. And now that's Chai's enclosure all done and she can go back in. Okay Chai are you
going to be good? Let's see. Stop trying to hold on to everything. You don't need to hold on.
And off she goes. Anyway let's move on to the next enclosure. Okay so the next two enclosures that
we're going to do are my king snakes and my corn snakes. These are my very well behaved babies but
they are both in shed at the moment so might not go that way. But we'll start with Toast. He is
deep in shed. Like deep deep in shed. Like super in shed right now. So I don't want to stress him
out too much. So I'm literally going to pop him straight into the box. There's a Toast in the
box. Yeah he can't really see very well right now so they can get a bit stressed out when they're
in shed. So I'm going to try and do this as fast as I can. But just like with the others I'm going
to take everything out. Take all his fake plants out. I really want to redo Toast's enclosure to
be honest. Because the plants that I have are just like any random plants that I had available
when I was setting it up. It doesn't really make sense for him as a king snake. So I want to do
something a bit more like Chai's. Like Bicky's enclosure that suits his natural habitat a bit
more. Now his poops are usually really tiny because he is really small. But let's see if I
can find them. My camera is gonna die. Everything is fine. I've got a poop over here. Little tiny
poops. Let's see any more poops. Oh I see a poop here. When he was a baby he used to love pooping
on his background. But I don't think he has this time which is nice. It's a bit trickier to clean.
Not many poops from Toast today. But his substrate definitely needs rehydrating because he's in shed.
So let me give this a good spray. Spray down all his moss too for his humid hide. Give this a good
mix. And that is Mr Toast all done. Let me pop my gloves off and we can pop all of his equipment
back in. And now plants. And my camera died. But that is Toast's enclosure all done. Let's pop him
back in. Okay Mr Toast. You ready to go back into your enclosure? Yeah? Alright let's go. Back into
your humid hide now. Oh Toast needs his water bowl. Sorry Toast. Forgot about that. Let's pop this back
in for you. There you go. And now that is Toast all done. So we'll move on to Kiki now. We'll do the
same for her. But first we need to fill up my water pump because there's no more water left in there.
Pop this down here and unscrew the lid. And then I'm just going to put the hose in there and fill
it up. I've got some ReptiSafe water conditioner that I'm going to put in there as well. I put
quite a good amount in because I believe this is 12 litres. So it's quite a lot of water to
condition. And I'm going to be spraying all my animals with this and filling water bowls if I
need to. So it needs to be nice and safe. Alright that's all full. It gets so heavy when it's full
of water. Now let's carry this back over to Kiki's viv. Here we are in front of Kiki's enclosure. Like
I said, she is also in shed. So I'll try and do this as fast as possible for her so she doesn't
get stressed out. Let's get her out. She's a bit of a grabber as well, like Chai. She likes to grab
onto things when I take her out. There she is. She is like ever so slightly in shed so she won't be
as stressed as Toast. There is Miss Kiki, my beautiful girl. She is a corn snake. She's my
oldest snake I believe. I think she's like six years old. Let's pop her into the travel container
and there is Miss Kiki in her box. Now time to repeat the same process again, which is just
taking everything out of the enclosure, taking out toots and rehydrating the substrate. She's got her
moss back here. I'm just gonna pop this inside here for now. That needs spraying down too because
she's in shed. If you see that ledge on the background, that is her favourite spot to sit
in the morning. She always basks up there. When I first come into the reptile room, she's super brave.
That's one of the reasons why I love corn snakes because like she just doesn't care. She's just
a good girl. That's her enclosure all empty. Let me grab some gloves and pick out some poops. Okay,
we've got some poops over here, a little bit of shed there. Take all these out. She's not done too
many poops either actually. There's a big poop in this back corner there. Oh, let's take her slate
out. I think that is all of them. So let's give the substrate a spray down. Perfect. That looks
so much better. But anyway, let's set her back up. Oh, I need to spray her moss down actually.
I did make these hides myself quite a few years ago now and they look okay. At the time when I
did them, I was like, oh, these are great. Not a huge fan now. I would honestly much rather prefer
just to use like the ExoTerra ones because they're easier to clean, but they still look nice. And then
she's got her favorite cork tunnel that goes in the middle. She's got this piece of cork bark back
there, a big branch. She's got her basking slate there. And finally I can add her fake plants back
in. All right, that looks good. Let's put her water bowl back in and Kiki can go back into
her nice clean home. So let me grab her. Here is my pretty lady. You ready to go back in?
Go on then. Oh no, don't go that way because you'll end up coming back out again. I know what
you're like. She's a rescue by the way, so I'm not sure of her morph because people do ask me quite
a lot what type of corn snake she is. I have got no idea. I honestly do not know. Anyway, let's close
this up. She already wants food. Pop her lock back on and that is all of the snakes that need cleaning
done. Look at the state of the floor now. It is literally covered in dirt and leaves,
but I'm not going to Hoover just yet. I'll do these enclosures first and then I will
Hoover at the end. So let's get started on Tim Tam who needs spot cleaning today.
So here is Tim Tam's enclosure. I'm just going to pop some hand sanitizer on. I use hand sanitizer
in between touching or holding any of my animals just to be safe. It's just to err on the side of
caution. But I can see he's done some poops in here, so I'm going to pop him into this container.
Let's get Mr. Tim Tam. He is usually in this side. Hide. Let's see if I'm right. Yep, there he is.
Good job. There we go. There is Mr. Tim Tam. He's honestly so good. I just put my hand in front of
him and he walks straight on. Okay, back. No. No. Tim. Okay, good boy, Tim. There's a Tim in the box.
I've caged the beast. Okay, Tim, you're going on the shelf whilst I clean your enclosure.
Will I need to take the doors off? I might need to take the doors off. I do want to clean the
tracks of this enclosure as well because the substrate barrier is so low, dirt gets stuck in it.
So I might just get like a toothbrush or something and give it all a scrape.
Because the thing is with Tim is he will actively push the dirt into the tracks. I watch him at
night. He comes and sits at the front and pushes the dirt in and then complains when I open the
door and it's loud. Anyway, let's get all of this out of here. I just need one glove for Tim's
enclosure because he's an arid species. I'm not gonna, I'm not going to rehydrate his substrate.
I need to show you what he's doing right now. What are you doing, Tim? Are you peeking over
the side? I just see like a little eye and tongue smiling at me. I know, you are so cute. Hi.
Hi, Tim. Hi. Oh my gosh. Everyone needs a barking gecko in their life because I don't know how I
live without this smiley little Tim Tam face before. He's just too cute. He comes out every
night begging to come out. He's also poops in one corner. He likes to make my life easy. The
hot spot over here is his poop corner. You know what? I'm going to move the substrate away from
the substrate barrier. I'm just going to put a thin layer there and push it all backwards.
So hopefully he will stop kicking the substrate into the tracks. I doubt that'll stop him,
to be honest. He's a free man. He does what he wants. Okay. I've got a toothbrush with some
safe four on it, and I'm just going to give this a bit of a wipe. Let's try and get as much of this
out as possible. Oh, it's coming out quite easily, actually. That is so much better.
Nice, clean tracks. Now let's put all of his hides and stuff back. This is covered in excavator clay.
I think it looks pretty good, but the round ones that I did didn't last. I think it's because they
were too smooth. And then he's got his big branch that goes in the center. He loves climbing on
that, actually. Okay, now let's put his fake plants in. See, let's try and clutter this up
as much as I can. I think that looks pretty good. He's quite a brave gecko anyway, so
yeah, that looks good. Pop his water bowl in there. And that is Tim Tam all done.
Let me pop his glass back on, and hopefully it doesn't make a horrible sound now.
It still does. It still makes a horrible sound. Oh, that's the only thing I don't like about
sliding doors. Let's pop Tim Tam back in. Okay, Tim, be free. Come on, sir. Bye. Off he goes.
See you later, Tim. Now let's do Egg's enclosure, which is Tim Tam's neighbor.
We've got a very sleepy Egg in his humid hide. Oh, he's too cute. I'm sorry, Egg, but I'm going
to have to disturb you, wake you up so I can clean your enclosure. Let's take this out,
just so I can get to you a bit easier. Come on then, Eggie. I need you to come out of here.
My gorgeous boy. Come on, Eggie. Hugest little guy. Look at that little face. You need to go
in your box, though. I know you do hate going in your box. For the next 10 minutes, all I'm
going to hear is Egg trying to make a break for it. But it's got to be done, Eggie. Let's put you
on the shelf like Tim. All right, I'm going to take his doors off as well. His handle, because
it's been so warm, has started to, like, melt off. So when I keep opening his door, it keeps falling
out. So I might need to order some more sticky stuff for it, but I can do that when I get back.
It's not a huge deal. And get all these plants out as well. He had this setup done not even that long
ago, to be honest, because it's been so warm. It's gone really dry, so he needs a refresh. Egg pooped
on a piece of cork bark anyway, so all those poops are out now. So it's nice and clean in here
anyway. All right, give that a spray down. I'm not going to do too much because he is quite an arid
species, but it should clump together a bit more and not be so dusty. Yeah, that looks good. And
just like Tim Tam, Egg pushes loads of dirt in his tracks, and he is also scared of the sound.
So I'm going to try and get that out for him and just try and dust away that dirt. And hopefully
that is a bit better for him. Okay, let's pop all of his stuff back in. I don't know how I remember
where everything was. Let's move that forward a little bit. Yeah, that's a bit more secure.
And he has his Humid Hide, which I'll give a spray.
Pop the lid on that. And then he's got these two branches, if he wants to climb. And he's got some
of these plants. I really do like these, actually. I think they look good in a Leo enclosure. And now
I just need to pop his glass back on, and that is Egg's enclosure all done. Fantastic. Let's get Egg
back in. He is also staring at me like Tim Tam was. Hello, sir. Hello. I know. Are you ready to
go back in your house? Okay, come on then. Now don't go running out because I know you're not
the smartest. Come here. Good boy, Egg. Go explore. You can go back in your Humid Hide now if you want.
Bye, Egg. Bye. So those are all the naturalistic enclosures that needed cleaning. Now we can start
moving on to the bioactive ones, which don't consist of as much work. It's just a bit of spot
cleaning, cleaning the glass, things like that, picking out any urates or poops that I come across.
But I don't have to take everything out. I do have two more naturalistic enclosures, which are just
down here. We've got that one there, which is Terry, my Nob Tail Gecko. And then that one down there,
which is Lamington, my Golden Spiny Tail. But they are very new additions to the reptile room, so they
really don't need cleaning and I don't want to stress them out too much. I'm still making sure
that they're eating consistently. And let me tell you, Lamington, the Golden Spiny Tail, is definitely
eating consistently. He loves his food. But Terry, he's a bit hit or miss at the moment. He did take
from tongs the other day, but he's just a bit nervous. So we're going to leave him alone for
the sake of the video as I build up that bond with him and get him ready to be on camera
and get him ready to be around me talking. But let's move on to some bioactive enclosures. I've
got these two down here. And Honey's is fine. Hers is pretty new, so hers doesn't need anything doing.
But Cheese's especially, he has done some poops on the walls and the glass. So let's get rid of those.
I don't really need to take Cheese out to do this. I'll clean his glass and walls and stuff first,
and then I'll get him out so you can say hello. He literally, I swear, he like sits at the top
and then poops all the way down, like drops all the way down the enclosure. And especially
when it's like urates and stuff, leaves like white marks. It's so gross. And there's some poops on
here too. So let me just give this a wipe. He's pooped all over this snake plant at the bottom.
Let's give this a wipe too because it looks gross. I think that's probably all for Cheese today.
Let's get him out because I love him. Hi Cheesy. Come here. There is Cheesy. I keep saying he,
I'm just so used to saying he, but Cheese is officially a little lady. She did in fact lay
some eggs not that long ago because it is egg laying season for these guys. And I've had Cheese
for almost two years now, I think. So, you know, that's probably the age that she's coming up to.
It just feels so wrong to say she. For the last two years I've been saying he, he, this is my son.
This is my little boy. This is my young man. But you're not, are you Cheese? No, you are not. Okay.
Bye Cheese. You can go back in. Off he goes. Let's give Cheese a spray. Give his plants a good water.
I'll give Honey a spray as well. Honey is my gargoyle gecko. She's just next door. Her plants
are fairly new, so they're still growing in. That'll do for Honey. Let's close her up. Uh,
what do we need to do next? We need to do Peach's enclosure. Peach is my pink-tongued skink. She's
in a bioactive setup as well. Hers is really nice, if I do say so myself. So let's go over to Peach.
I'll see if I can find her and I'll get her out for you guys because she's so lovely.
Okay, this is Peach's enclosure. As you can see, it is literally all plants. She loves it.
There's so much enrichment in here. So many places for her to hide away. Usually, oh yeah,
there she is. Hi Peachy. You want to come out to say hello? She's in this little cork tube here.
I'll see if she wants to come out, but I'll give her a spray down first. She is on the misting
system, but I do hand spray the plants once a day still as well, just to make sure they are properly
watered. The misting system is more for Peach to make sure she's getting the right humidity she needs.
Okay, Peach, would you like to come out? Where are you? Are you still in here? You are. Can you say
hi to everyone? Oh, she is too lovely. I can't believe how much she has grown since I got her.
She's having a proper growth spurt at the moment. She's been shedding quite a lot and she's really,
really coming out of her shell. I feel like we've both learned about each other. We know like what
we like and what we don't like, but overall, Peach is super, super lovely, very friendly,
and honestly, probably one of the best pet reptiles out there. I do have to say they are amazing.
The only downside to them though, I'd say, is the fact that they do only eat snails. I've tried her
Omnigog, she won't take it. She only wants snails, but luckily she's not picky about which snails.
I've gotten some Escargot grade, popped that in the freezer, and she eats three times a week,
just a couple of snails, but there's Miss Peach. Okay, let me pop you back. You can go back. Right,
there you go, Peach. And now I need to spray Big Mac and the chameleon geckos. And I'm also going
to have a look for some eggs from the geckos because Apple is due any day now. Marmite also
needs spraying. I can't forget about my son Marmite. He's my Kenyan sand boa and he's got a
bioactive setup. Let's just give him a little spray. He's got like a Pokemon themed enclosure.
It's pretty cute. All right, that's Marmite all done. Now let's give Big Mac a spray. His enclosure
has grown out so nicely. I'm really, really happy with his enclosure. The pothos has gone crazy,
but I don't mind that for him. As long as the other plants are still doing well too,
like the Chinese evergreen and the fern, then I'm happy with that. The bromeliads look great as well.
There is Big Mac, the Pac-Man frog. You can see him just at the back there. He's a Pikachu Pac-Man
frog, which is why he is bright yellow. So that's him all done. Let's close up this enclosure. The
last enclosure I need to work on is the chameleon geckos. So I've got my gloves and I'm just going
to root through and very gently have a look for any eggs. Like I say, she is due any day now. She
still does look a bit chunky. Oh my gosh, there's isopods literally everywhere. She still does look
a bit chunky, so I don't know if she has laid. Apple is just at the back. Oh, there's Kiwi down there.
That's the dad. These guys are communal species, so they can live together. I'm not seeing any eggies.
Usually it's pretty obvious when they have laid because they'll be like shiny white eggs. Yeah,
she looks massive. I don't know if you can see from here. She looks huge. She's definitely still
full of eggs. OK, well, I'll have a little bit more of a look, but I highly doubt I'm going to find any.
Oh well, no eggs from these guys today, but let's give them a good spray down and she'll probably
lay within the next few days, I'm guessing. She is absolutely massive. She's huge. She's a big girl.
OK, just closed the door on you guys. Sorry about that. So that's all the animal chores that needed
doing, but I need to Hoover. So let's do a quick Hoover time lapse before I go.
Well, that is everything for today, guys. I really hope you did enjoy this quick, fun video, just
cleaning some enclosures. Let me know down in the comments if you would like to see more videos like
this. I feel like the channel is currently in a bit of a transitional stage. I love to try new
things and I love to make educational content, but I also want to make sure I'm showing you guys my
animals because I know you like to see those. So let me know down in the comments what type
of content you do prefer and hopefully I'll try and cater to that. But yeah, that's everything.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day. And if you saw any of the enclosure labels,
you can actually get some for yourself. I do make them all myself and you can get them from my Etsy,
which will be here and it will be linked in the pinned comments. So I hope you all have
a wonderful rest of your day and I'll see you all later. Bye bye.
