Lion vs. Giraffe vs. Zebra! | Whoa Factor | Nat Geo Kids

It's safari time in the Serengeti. Would you rather laze around all day in the sunshine or run wild with your entire family? Yikes, that question is savannah-sized. Get ready to race, jump, and pounce until we find out which Serengeti animal has the most whoa factor. Whoa! Welcome to the Serengeti. It is a giant grassy place in Africa, like really giant. It stretches 5,700 square miles from Kenya to Tanzania. And it's basically an animal party with over 70 big mammals and more than 500 bird species. This place is packed with epic animals. But now it's time to choose sides. It's on, let's do this. I'm going big and tall because why not? Also, who doesn't want to be a giraffe? Best neck ever. OK, wow. That's a skyscraper of an animal. Talk about seeing everything. Get this, baby giraffes are already taller than you when they are born. No fair. I'm already a little salty at how much taller you are. Yep, a newborn can be almost six feet tall. Imagine being taller than grown-ups. That's as tall as my dad is. Giraffes are always snacking on super tall trees, like all day long. So their long tongues are in the sun a lot. I wonder if they get sunburned. Nope, that's the reason their tongues are so dark. It's like built-in sunscreen. Bowfractor level, sky-high snack machine. Tall is cool, but I'm choosing chaos. The hyena laughs all the time, runs in packs, and never, ever gives up. What's the deal with that laugh? They're not laughing at jokes. It actually means they're excited or kind of annoyed. Like when your teacher tries to make you laugh at the worst joke ever. But they're not being silly. It's how they say, hey, back off, that's my food. Like when you try to steal my snacks. Yeah, you're definitely not laughing then. They sort of look like dogs, but they're actually closer to cats and mongooses. Tricky, right? Here, kitty, kitty. Bad idea, bro. They're also super, super smart, and they can solve team problems better than chimps. That's some serious brain power. Bowfractor level, chaotic but clever. Nice try, hyenas, but I'm bringing out a strong contender. The zebra. Interesting choice. Okay, check this out. Every zebra has its own stripe pattern, like fingerprints. Each one is totally different. Whoa, no copy paste allowed. Hold up, serious question. What color is a zebra really? Your eyes might say one thing, but surprise. Zebras are black first, then they get their white stripes. Boom. I did not expect that. They also have their own language, snorts, barks, and silly faces. Bowfractor level, stripy legends. We're turning up the volume with the king. And queen. Of the Serengeti, lions. A lion's roar is so loud. You can hear it from like five miles away. That's almost 90 football fields in a row. After a big meal, a lion can chill over a whole week without eating again. Snack goals. And guess what? Some lions love climbing trees. What? They go all the way up there to take a nap? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Oops, don't worry. He's okay. It takes a lot of practice. Lions are also napping pros, snoozing up to 20 hours a day. Check out the size of those paws. Lions are the second biggest cats in the world. Only tigers are bigger. Bowfractor level, roaring royalty. It's time for power in numbers. Wildebeest. Wait, wildebeest? Wildebeest? My tongue is not cooperating. They look a little funny, but also kind of awesome. Their horns curve out and away from their heads. Kind of like bike handlebars. You think I don't sit still? Look at these guys. Every year, over a million of them go on the ultimate road trip. It's called the green migration, chasing rain and grass. Bowfractor level, marathon beast mode. So I got roars, stripes, laughs, and stampedes. Now we have to choose. I'm gonna go with the wildebeest. I love to run. Gotta say, team lion got me with the tree climbing and naps. That's kind of my jam. Now you decide which Serengeti animal has the most wolf factor. Bye-bye. Bye. Wait, I can see my house from here.
