AI GeneratedThis tutorial demonstrates how to paint a mason jar vase filled with flowers using a one-stroke painting technique. The instructor guides viewers through sketching the jar, applying shading and highlights for a glass effect, and adding colorful floral elements to create a decorative piece suitable for cards or small canvases.
Hi guys today I'm going to be using my
Where does it say my name on here?
It always says that maybe they changed it
but this is
vases and jars, okay, but
This must have been way back before when we first started
All right. So I want to show you how to make this without see you can tell I stenciled with paint
But I want you to see that if you if you draw
Halfway, so we're gonna draw right here with a pencil
Okay
And this is half of the jar up there
right here
here
halfway
Okay, and then i'm going to slide over. Oh, no, I want it down
So i'm going to come down like this
Remember it comes down
And make the jar to here
Okay
So see how it's got
half of the pencil
Okay, so
And right here it did
Right here didn't show much
Okay, so there
Now i'm going to come over here
This is where the jar was
There so now i'm going to move over
And make it a wider jar
Okay
So now i'm going to bring this over and it's going to touch
And put down and do a little bit further down
I just match it to that
And then over here
so
I didn't match that too good here, but it's easy
Especially when you have paint on there
The paint shows through a lot better
Okay
So that's going to be our mason jar. You can make it this small size
That's a smaller size jar, which looks good in many painting. You can put the ball on there if you want that
um, I kind of lean away from that because I don't want
um
That company to have a problem with me. All right. So then what i'm gonna do
Is i'm going to come in here
With a 16 flat that is not good
Let's get that paint off there before it gets all over me
There you go
All right, so i'm going to come in here with a 16 flat
There's two different ones
All right, so I am going to use some floating medium and i'm going to come right in here
So I hit with that first and then I did floating medium which made it way too watery
Okay, so what i'm going to do here
Is i'm going to come right around here
And get the outside lines for this jar
I'm going to use this jar as a vase
Okay, so I can
these little
screw marks
When you get the stems in here, you'll come back and put them in there right now
Right now we're just coming in here
And we're coming over here
Okay, let's get some more medium because this is art paper. This is multimedia
Pads of paper and they're the weight of them
You want like 180 160 to 180?
Weight so that it doesn't
Wrinkle up when you paint it. Okay
All right
I love getting ready for the seasons that are getting ready to come here
If you're in the fall, you will want to be doing things for the show
Shows are to decorate your house
and more
Okay
So I can come in here
And work this in
So it's not just a wide band
You want it to shade see how that is?
You want that shaded look not
a strong line
Sometimes I want a strong line
Now this you can look at it two ways
You can look at it as
It went up on the front
But hopefully you look at it as it's going down
And it's inside the jar
You see that?
You can take away some
I can wipe this off even on paper. I can take away some of this
All right
And I can come in here
And do a little bit of a water line
Okay
Because we're going to put stems in there
And see if you do that the water line would be
Like this in the back because that's what you're going to see there. Does that make sense? See this line?
It's an oval. This would be an oval
This would be an oval. You see that?
All right now this paper if you're on canvas is going to let you do that a lot easier than that just did
All right, and then i'm going to come in here with medium and get thicket
and some of
What was this?
This one is wild wasabi
And this one is alfalfa
So see that's got some olive color in it
But I can put out some wild
Wasabi also, I know that's loud if you're
You have your earphones on you're saying Donna don't do that again
Okay, so
The first thing you do guys is you're going to come in
in here
and
Okay, I can get some medium here
All right. So what I want to do is
Find a cute little surface cutting boards or
our little inexpensive canvases
And just make some fun little designs like this
that will
That people can go. Oh, I want that one because it's got that color
You know this one i'm using purples, but it could be all juneberry. It could be all blues. It could be all pinks
So be thinking about that. Okay
So i'm getting this ready
For us to put all kinds of different
Uh, what do you call it?
leaves and
Looks on here
So we're gonna come right down here
Okay
Now what what you want to do now?
Is I can come here
Okay
And we're just going to have a few coming out of here different places
This is with a 16 you can use a different size brush if you want
Okay, we got the wild wasabi
Okay
See, let's put some of that wasabi in there. You can even put white with the wasabi
Okay
All right
And I can even have a few more that come out here
Okay and hanging a little bit
So it's hanging on this side of the jar not that side
and
What I would do you can do three or four of these at the same time
But i'm gonna dry right here
And right here
This is with my heat pen
okay, so
So what you can do
Is let's get like
a smaller brush
And i'm going to put floating medium this is an 8 or 10
And then i'm going to come right in here and pick up the white
Okay, so what's going to happen is
I'm going to take and put these rings screw rings like the jar
Okay
And then you would want this on front
of the stem
See that
And I can come in here
And get some greens in here
Okay
And a little bit darker up here
It's got a glare over the
Over the jar a little bit
Because it's shadowing it you see that
And I get up through the screen over because I touched it
Okay
So that gives you a little bit of color inside
And I can just pick up white and I can bring a little bit
White along there like a glare
And in here
There's a little bit of purple
And it has a clear
A little bit over here
Got pieces of lavender that's fallen
Okay
And there's just little bits of glare of it in here of the lavender
That looks pretty easy so far, right?
I like to have relax and paint things that you could paint that you will just go. Oh
I like this. This is fun. You know, that's what I want you to think about
all right, so
We're gonna pick up
Violet pansy and neon purple. Okay, so i'm gonna come in here with a little bit of that and even some juneberry
Let's get a little bit of white with the juneberry
And there was some white in there and a little bit over here
Okay
so
We can be a lot heavier on this side
A little white a little bit of purple
All right
I'll put a little bit of juneberry in here
So is that kind of pretty?
You'll see how quick that was so think about it
You make pink ones blue ones all kinds of shades of different ones yellow like yellow ochre and white
And make it more fall. You can tie your ribbon around it up at the jar lid and more. All right, so just be thinking
This is not covering it. Well, so I can go a little bit darker
and
There you go, so I can also just do floated
Look at this. We can go really light
watercolor effects
See just a little bit
And you could take floating medium with a little bit of pink
or purple
See a lot of floating medium
With the purples
You like that?
A little bit in here
And you put a little bit out here
All right, you sign and share it. What do you think?
There you go. These matte really pretty so you get a soft green matte and this is gray paper
This is actually lighter
And I don't right. Let's see what it says
this one
This is gray tone
This is only 80 pounds and the reason I looked is because I can see
That it's warping up a little bit from the dampness
But when that dries you can iron it even and get that
Iron the back of it and get that wrinkle out of it
But it's perfect for matting perfect for put it think about putting on a greeting card. It's giving it as a gift
With a mat and they can frame it like they want to frame it
and more okay, so
This is really cute on a t-shirt. There's all kinds
Of designs that you can do and all you have to do is change the medium. Okay
