Climbing Switzerland's highest peak in two days from Zermatt.

Dufourspitze (4634m) lies in the Monte Rosa massif and is the second highest peak in the Alps, after Mont Blanc. The mountain is located between Switzerland and Italy, but the peak itself is wholly within Switzerland. Dufourspitze was first summited on August 1st, 1855. The normal route from the Monte Rosa hut is mainly on a glacier, with a final rocky ridge to the summit. The route is graded PD+/AD- according to multiple sources.

• Distance: 28 km
