Hi, this is Jason from Meguiars Clocks at MeguiarsClocks.com.
Today we're going to take a look at this nice size tambour clock.
It uses a Hermley 1050-020 triple chime movement.
The original movement was pulled out and a brand new same make and model movement was put in.
The case appears to be a solid cherry construction.
Has a nice semi-gloss to gloss finish on it.
Nice wood grain throughout when you're looking at it.
The front of it has what appears to be olive ash burl accents on it on either side of the dial.
Gives it a little bit of a nice contrast on the front.
And it also has all this really nice molding on this front side.
And it continues on around to both sides of the clock.
It's a really nice little detail.
Now there's no manufacturer's mark anywhere on this clock.
So given that it was produced back in the late 80s,
I'm guessing that either it was a small company that manufactured it,
or an individual manufactured it.
But it's very well made.
It's so well made that even though they're completely unnecessary,
they put these brass adjustable feet underneath the clock.
So if you needed to visually level it out on a mantel or a table, you could do so.
Because it's running that Hermley 1050 movement, it has a floating balance in it.
So this clock will essentially run sideways.
And if you were to stand it up, it just doesn't need the adjustability,
but it's there to make it look nicer on the mantel.
Go around here to the back.
Overall, the case is in really, really good shape.
The only thing that I really saw on it was
the bottom of this door right here has some loss on the corner of it.
But other than that, it's in great shape.
It's very overbuilt with the way they put it together.
It's screwed in together all the way across the back.
Again, with the really nice feet on the bottom of it.
The finish is nice and smooth and even throughout the whole entire thing.
Let me show you the new movement here.
That's a Hermley 1050-020 with the bronze bushings in it.
We don't use the lesser models.
Triple chime, so it'll play Westminster, St. Michael, and Whittington.
All right.
Nice, easy to read dial.
The silver and the black contrast make it really easy to read.
As soon as everything else around here stops going off, we'll take a look at
or take a listen to it.
We're going to be listening to the Whittington right now.
I'll go ahead and do the Westminster also because I usually get requests to do so.
Now, on all three tunes, it will chime every 15 minutes and strike the hour.
Hands are also nice on this.
They're not anything super special, but they're not your standard spade or serpentine hands,
which I can appreciate.
