Preserving land near Caladesi Island

Florida officials are considering the purchase of a private parcel of land known as Moon Island to expand the Caladesi Island State Park. This acquisition aims to conserve a nearly untouched barrier island, protect critical wildlife habitats, and improve public access to the area, which currently requires a paid ferry ride for visitors.
