Patrick’s cameraman was left with ‘cuts, abrasions, lacerations and a possible concussion’ after the assault, requiring him to be quickly bandaged up after escaping the violence.

Another member of the crew was punched in the back of the head by a migrant who reached into one of the team’s cars as they attempted to leave.

Rocks, bottles and other projectiles were also hurled at the cars, leaving them scratched and dented.

‘Lots of people here. Lots and lots and lots of people. You can see huge numbers. What I'd like to do is just ask some of these charity workers exactly what they think they're doing,' Patrick said as he made his way through the assembled migrants.

None of the high-vis-vest-clad workers, who were standing and preparing food, wanted to speak and instead shooed Patrick and his team away.
