What if a House could feel as though it were floating among the trees? In this video, we explore an inspiring contemporary House Design created around the idea of living closely with nature. Known as The Floating Canopy House, this modern Home combines powerful monolithic concrete architecture, expansive glass openings, intimate courtyards, warm natural materials, and dramatic connections with mature trees.

This House Design is inspired by the architectural character and design approach of Copas House by PPAA, located in Valle de Bravo, Mexico. Rather than copying the original project, this concept reinterprets its most inspiring architectural qualities into a new House: strong concrete volumes, carefully framed views, deep openings, sculptural shadows, indoor-outdoor connections, and spaces that allow the surrounding landscape to become part of the Home itself.

From the exterior, the House presents a bold and sculptural presence. Its concrete volumes create a strong contrast against the greenery, while recessed windows and terraces add depth and mystery. As we move inside, the Home becomes softer and more inviting, with warm wood, natural stone, comfortable furnishings, and carefully controlled natural light. Every room of this House is designed to create a different relationship with the surrounding trees.

The central courtyard becomes one of the defining elements of the Home, bringing vegetation deep into the architectural composition. Meanwhile, the living room and dining areas open toward the landscape, creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living. The kitchen continues this philosophy with a minimalist design that remains connected to the social spaces and views beyond.

One of the most spectacular elements of this House Design is the upper level. Elevated among the trees, the Home creates the feeling of living directly within the forest canopy. Large windows transform branches, leaves, changing sunlight, and distant views into constantly evolving pieces of living artwork. The bedroom becomes a peaceful retreat, while the bathrooms introduce a more sculptural and serene interpretation of the same architectural language.

This House demonstrates that contemporary architecture does not have to feel cold or disconnected from nature.
