To realize their plan to rob the bank that he manages, Stephen Price (Barry Sullivan) and Paula Craig (Janis Carter) lure an out-of-work mining engineer, Mike Lambert (Glenn Ford), into a trap. An uncanny resemblance between the two men has Price planning to steal the money, kill Lambert, and then blame him for the crime. However, the plan runs afoul of Paula, who kills Price and has mine owner Jeff Cunningham (Edgar Buchanan) charged with murder. And when Paula seeks to have Stephen's crimes pinned on him, Mike must turn the tables on this dangerous femme fatale before he ends up taking the fall.
