Olga Szerstobitow was born in 1979 in Kyiv into an artistic family. She spent part of her childhood in Moscow. For over twenty years, she has lived and worked in Poland. She graduated from the Faculty of Art at the University of Rzeszów, from the Interdisciplinary Painting Studio under the supervision of Professors M. Olszynski, A. Nickel, and M. Pokrywka. She works in a variety of painting techniques, from watercolors and ink and graphite combinations to acrylics and oil. The artist actively practices painting both in Poland and abroad, combining her practice with teaching. She leads alternative painting workshops under the slogan "In One Breath." Her work is characterized by exuberance, a lack of stylistic constraints, impulsiveness, and emotionality. It is based primarily on color combinations. These are searches for ideal combinations and artistic means through which the inner mystery of an image can be encoded.Szerstobitow's works are also directly connected to music, which often shapes her subjects. The artist is passionate about humanity, personified primarily by women, embedded in various, more or less real worlds and emotions. When portraying people, she focuses on the relationship with the model.
She has held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions. Her works are held in private collections both in Poland and abroad. Among the individuals portrayed by Szerstobitow are many prominent figures from the worlds of culture, media, and business.
