Manila has CHANGED so much! 🇵🇭 In this vlog, I’m back exploring BGC (Bonifacio Global City) with my Filipino friend Kat and honestly, parts of Metro Manila feel completely different from just a few years ago.
From new infrastructure and developments to world-class wellness experiences right in the heart of BGC, we’re checking out another side of Manila that you might not expect.
We visit a brand-new wellness spot in BGC and spend the day talking about how much Manila has evolved, what has improved, and why BGC continues to become one of the most modern areas in the Philippines.
Is the old perception of Manila outdated? Let me know what YOU think in the comments! 🇵🇭

Most people would say, don't go to Manila.
It's trash.
But I've lived here for many years
and every time I get back to the city,
it's getting better and better.
And I didn't know what to expect.
And when I came, I was very, very surprised.
And I had no idea this spot in BGC
had this modern approach on world class level.
I'm so happy to see how Manila has developed.
Definitely a place that I'm going to come back to
many, many times.
And one thing that I always find time for
when I'm in the Philippines
There's no chill when you're in Manila.
Good morning and welcome to BGC in Manila
from my billion dollar view.
Look at these skyscrapers.
I am back in the city for a little bit of shopping,
I would say, and meeting some friends.
And the best part about coming back to Manila
is that I'm not a tourist here.
So I used to live here.
In case you're new to the channel,
I have friends here.
I have a lot of activities that I do
when I come into the city.
And today my friend Kat invited me to a yoga class.
And I did not think that's that kind of yoga class,
but the place is very stunning.
And I didn't know what to expect.
And when I came, I was very, very surprised.
But yeah, let me show you the place.
The place is called Longativity Lab
and this is the outer area.
So you can enjoy the view of the city.
Pretty, pretty stunning.
There's a lot of greenery here, some seating areas.
Let's go inside.
Who is here?
Welcome back to the vlog.
Oh, hi guys.
This is the exercise for oxygen therapy.
So this is what we call the superhuman crucible, right?
Okay.
It's a three-step process.
So what Isa is doing.
Hi.
Smiling.
Yeah, she's smiling, she looks pretty.
Yeah, work it, girl.
Work it, sexy.
Yes, this is the second step.
So basically, this is more for increasing your VO2 max
and having more oxygen in your body.
Our founder believes that this is a good process
to get a better performance.
Yeah, my brain is like crying from it.
I can't think.
I think it was that extreme yoga that we signed up for.
We just finished a hot strength today.
Look how sweaty we are.
Still, still sweating.
The tour continues.
Okay, I'm going to sit down for a little bit,
get some work done,
and Kat is going to show me the recovery area in a bit.
But yeah, usually when I'm on these trips,
I try to catch up on work wherever I can
and believe it or not,
but Manila has actually fast internet.
Unlike when I came here for the very first time in 2018,
it was so slow that I literally had to walk around
with my phone and catch the signal.
The infrastructure has improved so, so much
and I absolutely love it.
But I also have to say I got wiser with age and experience
and I switched to HoloFly plans whenever I travel,
which means that I have one SIM card
that covers 160 destinations.
Appreciate you.
Thank you, thank you.
And to be very honest,
I wasn't really sure if I would be able to post
from random places.
I mean, I was on remote islands
and I had the best internet connection.
I was doing a live from a tiny, tiny little island
in the Philippines,
so HoloFly actually connects with the best network
and it literally saved the day for me
because I wouldn't have been able to go live
and post so much and just stay connected with you guys.
And you don't have to worry about being too technical
because it's super easy to install
and they have a 24 seven customer service.
And one feature that I haven't seen
with any other eSIM providers
and totally makes sense to me
is the always on function.
As long as the HoloFly eSIM stays installed on my phone,
I still have one gigabyte of free backup data,
even if I don't currently have an active plan.
So I'm never completely stranded without the internet
because trust me, I had situations where
it could have saved me, but now I know better.
And it is actually something
that made this trip so wholesome
because I played tour guide for my friends,
I rented scooters, I booked tours.
And while I did all of this,
I was able to take you guys on this journey.
If you haven't seen the vlogs,
definitely check them out.
They will pop up here or here.
It is on my channel.
And if you travel a lot,
I will definitely leave a link
in the description box down below for you guys.
You can also use my discount code TRAVELBESTIE
for 10% off HoloFly plans.
And like I said, it's just worry-free.
It doesn't give me any headaches.
So that's what we want, right?
I already see Kat waving at me.
So we're going to check out the recovery area
and let's continue with the vlog.
I love the towels, by the way.
And yes, so we have four towels,
different temperature.
This one is 5, 12, and here.
Oh, wow.
Now, since it's super hot now in the Philippines,
you can actually just, you know,
sauna outside.
Yeah.
You have an option.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Or go inside our really big sauna space.
It can fit 30 to 40 people.
Welcome.
Oh, wow.
Extra toasty.
Oh, it's so nice.
Right? It smells so good, too.
It smells so, so good.
We put essential oils to the water.
Oh, my God.
Oh, yeah, we need to do sauna.
It's so big as well.
We do like events here.
Like once a month, we do Thermal Soundscape.
So please check out Longevity Lab
Yeah.
By the way, guys, Kat has been coming here every day.
And I'm part of the team, too.
Part of the team, too.
I get paid to be here.
You look so great.
She has been working out like crazy.
It's consistency.
So it's not just that you look nice, right?
But you look so good.
It was her birthday just recently.
Oh, yes.
Her 30th birthday.
No, 40th.
Don't lie.
It's my parenta already for the Filipinos.
You know what I mean?
But yeah, it shows.
Like you're really on it, very consistent.
I try my best.
So that's why.
Also keep in mind, guys, recovery is so important.
So before, I really, really pushed myself.
Oh, yeah, you did.
But now I also value recovery.
That's why I'm here most of the time.
So I hope you guys can visit.
I think for me, it was mostly getting enough sleep, magnesium and also having rest days
and not work out too much because I used to work out every day.
And it didn't do me well.
OK, I'm going to rinse off and shower and get changed to my bathing suit.
OK, we are ready for contrast therapy.
Yeah, that's how I call it.
Because it means hot, cold, hot, cold, meaning sauna and cold plunge.
So yes, we are the type of people who just did a hot strength class.
I thought it's going to be relaxing.
It was not.
And then we're still doing sauna.
Yes.
For the vibes.
Yes, for the vibes.
And then just so we get the full benefits.
Because actually, if you do sauna, like between eight minutes onwards,
it will decrease your chance of cardiovascular.
Yeah.
And it's also good for your recovery.
And like inflammation with the ice bath.
Yeah.
So many benefits to it.
It's like if you put it into Chachipiti, benefits of sauna, contrast therapy, ice bath.
It's so freaking good.
Yeah, that's why we should let them try it here.
Yeah.
Am I getting a hat too?
Yeah.
Nice.
This is your look like a smurf.
I know.
I always see it in your Instagram stories and I'm like, you guys look so cute.
Yeah.
Welcome to the club.
Hold on.
Okay.
Smurf Nelly, ready to go.
Ah, which one is this?
Electrolyte.
Okay.
I'll try because I'm so thirsty after the relaxation.
Yeah, you're so dehydrated.
Thank you.
Thank you for making it extra toasty.
Like we need it more.
As if we're not hot enough already.
Wooden.
Okay, let's go.
We just put the water in the central point.
Okay.
This is how you put the towel.
What's your name?
Chad.
I'm Kat.
This is Nelly.
Time to sweat.
Switch off.
Talk to you in a second.
Yeah, first sauna session is done.
I am hot.
Now, it's going to be the ice bath.
Okay.
Okay, have to rinse off the sweat.
I love that your bikini goes so well with the tiles.
It's like you planned this.
Yeah.
The planned, unplanned outfit.
I never see it.
Really?
Yeah.
You can do two minutes here.
Yeah.
Maybe I'll do 30 seconds.
I haven't done ice bath in a long time.
Really?
Yeah.
Feel free to like scream and shout.
Okay.
No judging.
I'll be here.
Okay, one, two, three.
Up to here, up to the nape.
Okay.
Has to be up to here so you really feel it until your vagus nerve.
Oh, I sound so technical but yeah.
Can I just watch you?
Be calm.
This is how you reset.
Tune into your breathing.
Yeah.
Okay, Nelly, your turn.
I love this.
Again?
You did two minutes.
Go.
Oh my god.
Nelly has no sense of rhythm.
There's no chill when you are after me.
No, no.
But you need friends like this.
Yeah, it's only before 12 minutes that she's done so many things.
I know.
Ideally, four rounds, right?
Yes, a good solid hour is ideal.
So you do eight to 12 minutes in the sauna.
You can do 15 if you really need to.
And then you do the lunch for one to two minutes.
And then, yeah, you do it.
Thank you for guiding me.
This is my pleasure.
Yeah.
My pleasure.
Yeah, you guys just breathe, breathe, relax.
Yeah, he's our sauna master.
The master ray.
Everything in life is stressful.
The whole bunch is stressful.
Yeah.
Just give yourself peace.
Yeah.
Your breath is left.
Yeah.
All right, that was so, so nice.
Really appreciate Kaz taking me along and showing me
the newest health biohacking places in Manila.
And I'm so happy to see how Manila has developed,
especially because when I moved here,
yeah, there was only anytime fitness,
no biohacking places whatsoever.
So yeah, definitely a place that I'm going to come back to
many, many times.
So if you want to come and visit it, check it out.
I'll leave a link in the description below.
I'll go and finish my coffee.
And then I'll head out into the city and enjoy.
