Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe speaker shares a diverse range of personal stories, covering international travels to India and Spain, the domestic tension caused by a high-tech bed cover purchase, and a deep dive into mental health and therapy. The conversation also explores cinematic critiques of Christopher Nolan's work and reflections on the pressures of early fame within the music industry.
Ooh, I just landed from a very long flight.
How long was the flight?
Sounds like the beginning of June.
Let me walk you through my itinerary.
Okay.
I'm on set with Priyanka in Hyderabad, India at 4 p.m.
Standard.
Indian Standard Time.
I'm there for a few hours.
I leave from there, go to the airport.
Got about an hour on the ground in Hyderabad, get on the plane, go Hyderabad.
What the ****?
Oh, it's the sign again.
It's a sign.
So Hyderabad to Dubai, about two hours on the ground in Dubai, Dubai here to Dallas, Texas.
What did you do in the Dubai airport?
It's always an adventure.
I was chilling.
How long was the layover?
Watching some TikTok.
Just catching up on things.
Because you can't watch it in India.
Exactly.
Me and Joe got our nails done at the Dubai airport last time we flew together.
How luxury of you.
So this trip to India came after me and Joe's vacation in Spain, which was awesome.
So much fun.
Tell me about Spain.
It looked incredible.
Well, so the house was sick.
We were in a small town outside of Valencia.
They're known for their paella.
And we rented this house.
So the owner of the home is from Holland.
Dutch.
Sorry, Dutch.
Well, same thing.
Well, I wasn't sure.
I just got nervous.
I fucked up.
Anything you say that's incorrect, that sign's going to fall.
It's very interesting.
They have it on a Q button.
All right.
So the homeowner's Dutch.
Her husband, who was the chef for us, is Dutch.
She's not the homeowner.
She was the house manager.
But the homeowner is Dutch as well.
So everyone's Dutch.
Everyone was Dutch.
One gathering is, everyone's Dutch.
Everyone is Dutch.
And we were in Spain.
And it was weird.
It was like a Black Mirror episode, because like...
Everyone's Dutch.
And by the way, it was amazing.
I was like, oh, this is interesting.
It was an amazing experience.
But it did take you out of the experience of being in Spain.
We asked multiple people too, we're like, so what's the reason that this little beach
town in Spain is just sort of overrun?
And they're like, I don't know.
They're like, um, well, they just, there's just a flight that takes you here.
And I'm like, that was the answer.
It was wild.
I was like, what does that mean?
But by the way, not just the people that own the home and took care of us.
I walked to the local pharmacy.
Dutch.
Oh, so it's a little Dutch village.
I went to the meat and cheese...
No, it's a Spanish town.
Well, it's now a Dutch village.
I went to the meat and cheese shop.
Dutch.
However...
Okay.
There was something that we want to show you.
We're going to show a clip here.
This was the night that Spain, while we're in Spain, won the World Cup.
Look at the mayhem on the streets.
It was incredible.
It was really cool.
So we stayed up late with mom and dad.
And our kids were asleep and just kind of magical silence in the city throughout the
whole World Cup final match.
And then you started...
Probably one horn.
One horn.
Followed by another horn.
Followed by a firework.
And it was till four in the morning, five in the morning.
It was just fireworks, car horns, mayhem, as you can see.
Dog's worst nightmare.
But we had a great vacation.
And then me and Malte Marie and Priyanko flew to India and I just got back.
We have some shows.
And we have a big week next week going into Camp Rock 3, Disney Legends.
It's a big Disney week for us.
It's a big Disney week.
But let's go back to the vacation.
Kevin, we talked to you about your vacation and you said that you got heated and you didn't
get invited to breakfast, which sucked for you.
Yes.
It's true.
I had breakfast without you.
It did.
I didn't mean to laugh.
It was just...
It was, you know...
It seemed like a big deal in the moment when it really wasn't a big deal.
But that's what happens in those heated moments when you're like really tight and everything's
happening around you.
Let's be real.
You planned the whole thing.
Sure.
I did.
You can own that.
It's true.
I definitely planned all of it.
And you...
And paid for it.
Paid for it.
But you know what that reality is...
So when you see your family or friends having breakfast without you, you're like, WTF?
Did anything like that happen on your vacation where you guys were a little bit...
Spent a little too much time together?
Uh...
I don't know.
Nope.
Not necessarily.
We had a great time.
Great.
My room was very cold.
I was so happy.
His room was very cold.
I was happy for him.
My room was not as cold.
Yeah.
That was the big...
That was a little interesting.
Other than that...
My room was like an icebox.
I did update on the sleep stuff.
Because we talked about this.
I did end up getting the eight sleep thing that you mentioned a while ago.
I'm surprised you don't have that.
Well, I have it now.
Tell us about it.
So what does it do?
This is not a paid ad.
But it...
Um...
It's...
It's actually funny.
Because Danielle got kind of upset with me that I just got it, installed it, and didn't
ask her permission.
And it's our bed together.
Yeah.
I mean, I would be...
That would be irritating.
You said that like we'd be like...
Why would she be upset?
No, I'm just...
I was updating you on this scenario.
And she's right.
I should have totally talked to her more about it.
That's a Danielle sound.
I like that Danielle sound.
More about it.
You should have talked to her about it.
Period.
I did talk to her about it.
I just...
Because I can hear the truck.
It's like beep, beep.
She saw it.
Where do you want the new bed?
No, it's a cover.
So it's a cover that goes on the bed.
So she was...
What do you mean it's a cover?
So that makes it less...
So you were less at fault because it's just a cover.
No, she saw the boxes.
She knew it was there.
So cover up.
She saw the boxes.
She knew it was there.
I didn't have to have a conversation with her.
But it's a cover up.
It's a cover.
No, the bed cover has...
I didn't understand this.
I didn't really do too much research.
But you fill this unit.
This argument is not looking good for you.
Oh, no.
I was in bad form.
Don't be mad at me.
I didn't even do...
I didn't do much research.
This thing is supposed to...
Nick and Joe said this is...
Apparently, it's good.
Nick and Joe said we needed this.
I don't know.
They bought it, actually.
You fill up this thing with water and it's...
Okay, what?
Yeah, it circulates the water into the cover that's on the bed.
You can't feel it.
It's like super, super small.
It's like a waterbed.
No, it's not a water...
It's like the tubing, though, is being pumped through.
You don't hear it.
It's completely silent.
And you can set your regulatory temperature to either be really cold
or actually it warms you up.
So in the morning...
Who the hell would want a warm bed?
But here's the thing.
It's the alarm.
So you have to wake up at 8 a.m.
It warms up to wake you up.
And you wake up from sleep in a calming manner
compared to being a little...
Ding, ding, ding, ding.
And then the other side of it is it cools and watches your body.
If you're getting into deep REM,
it'll actually drop the temperature further
so you go into a deeper state.
My sleep has been...
What about sex?
...incredible.
What about sex?
Does it change during sex?
I warmed up the bed to make it all super nice and warm and toasty.
When you're waking up, it literally warms the bed
like you pissed yourself.
So you wake up and you're like,
Oh, no.
It felt nice.
And it does vibrate.
Oh, never mind.
It's just the cover-up.
It vibrates as well.
Don't worry about it.
It's just the cover-up.
Where do you want the vibrated bed?
Where do you want us to plug the tubes in?
It's kind of like that.
You didn't refill the ******* water.
You want the Fiji or you want the Aquapana?
We're not getting eight sleep beds apparently sent to us.
You can send me another one for each one of my beds in this house.
Thanks a lot.
It'd be fun to just...
Well, question.
Did you let her know when it was installed
or she just woke up to peeing herself?
She got really mad that I changed the bed.
And rightfully so.
She's like, why did you do this?
You changed it.
Now I was perfectly fine with our bed.
Now it's different.
Have you changed the bed before?
She said, why did you do this?
I did.
We went from a regular bed to a sleep number.
And you didn't let her know?
No, we talked about that.
We shopped for that together.
Okay.
But I wanted to do...
I wanted a new mattress.
You're like, you know what's one better?
The Sleep 8.
On top of the sleep number.
That's a 10.
You just installed a new bed
and you didn't talk to her about it at all?
No, I did not install a new bed.
I don't think that's...
To Kevin's point, I don't know.
If I installed a bidet,
I don't think she'd be like,
we're fighting over it.
But that's...
We should call her.
You don't sleep on a bidet.
When she comes on the podcast, we can talk about it.
But I did say to her that I got this new thing
and she was excited about it.
And then I just did it.
And I think she went to bed
and realized there was something new going on.
And she was like, no,
now I have to deal with this new thing.
What if I don't sleep well?
Which I totally get.
So I'm going to break down the psychology of this
with my lack of degree.
I think for us,
and Joe,
I want you to weigh in on this too.
Bed changes are not a big deal
because we've been moving to different beds
like on tour and everything
our entire life basically.
But I can see how that would really upset Daniel.
She found her perfect number
and she was like,
no, no, you're about to change it.
She found literally her perfect liquid number.
And she found it.
It's negative three.
What is it?
How does the numbering work?
I'll show you.
Also, we could call her now
and we could pretend like you're not in the room
and be like, hey,
I just want to clear something up.
Kevin's out of the room.
That means you cannot talk back.
And we'd be like,
did he mention that he was going to get the...
Go ahead, call her.
Can we call her now?
She's not going to answer.
She doesn't have her phone near her.
What if she just answers on a first ring?
That will be so surprising.
Why is she not going to answer?
Your call has been forwarded to voicemail.
She sent me to voicemail.
The person you're trying to reach is not available.
Oh, she sent you straight to voicemail.
No, you got to call her.
Then she'll definitely answer
because she'll be like,
oh, something's about Kevin.
It's okay.
Why not?
I literally have to call one of my kids
to get her to answer.
Well, let's call one of your kids.
Call Alina.
She'll answer.
Okay.
I'm calling Alina.
Alina Jonas.
There she is.
She'll be like, hello?
Just like, hello?
Where do you want to bet?
Okay.
No one in your family answers the phone.
This is your uncle calling.
Your call has been forwarded to voicemail.
What the?
Who else is left?
Valentina.
Does she have a phone?
iPad.
Oh my God.
She actually does have a phone, yeah.
Yeah, I have her.
Can I call her?
I can call on iPad, right?
FaceTime it, yeah.
Third time's a charm?
Probably is.
Someone loves me.
Dinner time.
That means their phones are nearby.
For sure.
Nobody wants to answer my phone.
Probably all on their phone,
just hitting ignore.
They're looking at it.
They're like,
is he calling you too?
Ew.
Exactly.
Why is he calling us?
Bad form, family.
Well.
All right.
Well, we tried.
We tried.
It will go a mystery.
Kevin steamrolled and got a new bed.
I did.
I steamrolled.
Congratulations.
But it is very cool,
and I will say it's actually pretty awesome.
No, I'm excited to come.
I'm excited to get a free one.
This is number eight.
Eight Sleep.
Something else that I did
over the course of my trip
was I went to see the Odyssey.
How was it?
It's remarkable.
Like true enough?
Yeah.
No doubt in my mind it's not.
I watched Inception to get Nolan ready.
Yeah.
Here's the thing is that I saw someone who said this,
so shout out to the creator who said this,
and I think it's a good way to put it.
He said,
Christopher Nolan has turned cinema
and the idea of cinema
into an event that you must be a part of.
It's no longer just like it's a movie.
It's like,
no, this is an event that you have to experience.
I love that.
I actually understand that
because I've yet to see it
because I want to make sure I go see it
in the proper IMAX format.
And they followed that up by saying,
and he turned a credit into a promise,
which I was like,
damn, that is so real.
And that's what it is.
I think that's the goal of every true artist.
It's like, yeah.
It's a promise.
It's going to be good.
It's going to be the best thing you've seen.
And the performances are all amazing.
I'm really trying not to get any spoilers,
but things are happening on the internet.
Yeah, it's incredible.
Well, you know the story.
Yeah, the story is...
But I mean just visually.
I just want to...
Yeah, totally.
See?
I'm not going to see it now.
Just leave it.
We're going to leave it.
It's falling off.
This is where our sign usually goes.
Do you think he'll win?
Yes.
Obviously best picture.
Whatever it is, he'll win.
But he'll win.
Do you think that the main lead actor
will win best actor?
Matt Damon.
I don't know.
I haven't seen the other performances yet,
but I think that the thing about The Odyssey
that's so incredible is that it's,
you know,
such an ambitious swing to take
to tell that story.
It's been done a few times,
but to do it on the scale
that only Christopher Nolan can do it
with practical effects and all these things,
it's like you're just watching a person operate
at a different level.
And I'm, you know,
we're all massive fans of film
and cinema and the whole thing.
He's just like doing the most,
the thing on a different level.
It's incredible to watch.
And then you think about the fact
that there are just,
you'll see it.
When you see it,
there are lines that he's written
and the directing's incredible.
But if I may just say,
the man's pen was on fire
because he wrote it too.
And there's like,
there's levels of poetry
and excellence in the way
in which he articulates certain things
that I think are on par
with some of the very best screenwriting
that has ever happened.
That's incredible.
And I think maybe it has something to do
with the fact that he said this
on Jimmy Falun the other night,
which was like,
yeah,
I don't,
he said,
you don't have a phone or smartphone.
He goes,
no,
I have a flip phone when I need it.
It's,
but someone has it.
He goes,
yeah,
but all those moments
that I would be on the phone,
I would be addicted to it.
He said,
he goes,
I need to be in those moments
to be able to just
look out the window and think.
I think he's leaving room
for all of that genius.
Yeah.
And I think that
no phones on set rule too.
There was another thing I watched
where he was talking.
I don't know if he was talking about,
but some,
some version of this,
someone was talking about
with him saying that basically
he showed his son the script
and his son was like,
you know,
it's good,
but like keep going.
He's like,
you know,
I won the Oscar for,
you know,
opera music,
but you didn't write,
you didn't win for a screenwriting.
His son like laid the gauntlet.
It was like,
yeah,
dad,
you may be Christopher Nolan,
but you didn't run for screen.
So he went even harder
and wrote one of the best scripts
I've ever seen.
I cannot wait.
There's a line
about the siren song.
Yeah.
That has started to go viral
on,
on everywhere.
And it's,
it's just incredible
because it basically.
Don't tell me.
No,
I'm not going to tell you a thing,
but it's the story
of the Odyssey as a whole,
as we all know,
because we all read it
is about like this person
testing God
or the gods all
at every step of the way
and like trying to will
their own thing to happen.
And this film does an excellent job
of,
of explaining that sometimes
you have to just give in
the journey,
take you where you're supposed to go.
Love it.
But also to like,
never give up.
It's just really incredible.
So part of that transitioning
into Tom Holland
is having an insane summer
because Tom Holland,
big year.
And I'm honestly so excited as well
to not only see the Odyssey,
but Spiderman,
which we're going to go see tonight.
I've got tickets.
Yes.
Are we going to do it?
Yeah,
we got to go see it.
It's an American classic
starring a British actor.
Although all my favorite
American films
star British actors,
actually just go back
to the Odyssey.
The coolest part
is they say mom and dad,
there's none of this.
Like,
when did it become the thing
that every international accent
is just British?
That's not a thing.
So it's amazing.
You have all these British actors
speaking a lot of
American actors
and others
speaking in
just American accents
and saying like
modern terminology,
like mom,
dad.
Just talk normally
and it just takes you
into a cool space.
But anyway,
Tom Holland.
Dude,
massive year.
I love his
NA beer too.
It's great.
It's fantastic.
You know Tom Holland
and I did a movie together.
Yes,
but no one's really seen.
It's a great film.
I mean,
I think a lot of people saw it,
but not as many as 900 million
that are seeing Spiderman
this weekend.
Yeah.
Well,
it came out in COVID.
Excuses,
excuses,
but it was a crazy cast.
It's a stacked cast.
Like,
no one knows about this movie.
Yes.
Tom Holland,
Daisy Ridley.
Yeah.
Cynthia Erivo,
Mads Mikkelsen.
Right.
I mean,
just IMDb.
Chaos Walking
was a fantastic film.
If you haven't seen it,
go check it out.
It's a great film.
Thank you for saying it.
There's some things
that could have been
different.
It was an incredibly enjoyable
watch on an airplane film.
It was an ambitious swing.
There's a lot of good airplane movies.
I watched Master of the Universe.
I really enjoyed it.
I did watch it on a plane.
I think they made it even better.
I enjoyed the movie.
I thought it was very entertaining.
I just watched it too.
I loved it.
You experience heightened emotions
on airplanes,
so sometimes the movies
you love on airplanes
aren't as good as they are.
Well,
or they are,
but they're just not.
Or finally you're opening
to a new plane,
then you can actually enjoy them
at that level.
here's the game.
Top three movies
you've watched on a plane.
Not because they're not great,
but just on the experience
of watching it on a plane.
Like for the first time?
No,
just in general.
The movie you enjoyed
watching on a plane.
I cried again watching
Interstellar on a plane
because the loneliness
of him just being through space
as we were on the 17 hour flight
to Singapore together.
And it was just,
I was in it
and I felt his pain
being away from the family
and I was just...
And you cried.
And I cried.
Like a little bitch.
Casino Royale.
Fantastic.
Snakes on a Plane.
And...
Great plane film.
Actually,
I just watched Obsession
on the flight.
Wow.
Was it good?
Wow.
I've been saving it
for our next flight.
You've not seen Obsession?
How many flights do you...
You've been on...
You just were on a plane.
But I'm hoarding
for our long flight.
It's not that long
of a movie.
It's a long ass flight.
Uh,
you need to watch Obsession
right now.
I'm hoarding films
for that long flight.
I've already seen it twice.
It's incredible.
It's brilliant movie.
Corey,
I want to work with you.
Me too.
I actually have one
on which
we have some
data,
some data coming in.
I just watched this
on a plane
and I agree
Crazy Rotations
is amazing on a plane.
Again,
just to categorize this.
I've watched it like
three times on a plane.
It's so good.
It's a great film.
Not just because it's on a plane
but it's a great movie
and it's so enjoyable
in that sense.
The other one
that I'll say
is The Notebook.
Great film.
Because you do have
that sense of longing
and sadness
when you're on a plane.
Maybe you've had
one or two drinks
or a glass of wine
and you're like,
I just want to kind of
be in my feels
and The Notebook does that.
I've been binge watching
The Americans.
So good.
This is flying
back to the States
and my iPad's in front of me
with the show on
and there was a family
with young children
that just happened
to be around.
Because you're on an airplane.
Well,
just specifically
where I was sitting.
You're used to having
lots and lots of space.
Yeah, yeah.
I was like,
this is so weird.
Just kidding.
We're not.
Okay, so
I'm watching it
and it happens to be
the first episode
where there's just
full-on nudity
and lots of sex.
Oh, that's it.
And I didn't
I didn't know what
So I'm like,
I'm not gonna
I'm gonna watch it
but I don't want the
Don't say it like that.
That's weird.
You said like that.
I'm just gonna watch it.
I'm not gonna skip it
because that would be wrong.
That would be rude
to the amazing actors
and the filmmakers.
So I'm going to watch
this nudity
and I'm going to study
this sex scene.
And then I like,
I angled the monitor away
because I'm like,
there's a young kid.
I don't want him to
I don't want to
And the dad's like this
Dad's like
And be like,
Joe Jonas is the reason
I saw boobs.
That's the dad
or that's the kid?
That's both.
And so I,
yeah,
I do this polite
like, you know,
hide.
And then I just look like
I'm watching something
I shouldn't be watching
on a plane.
It's almost double down.
Then I'm like,
is this guy watching
like something
he should not be watching
on a plane?
And I'm like this.
I'm like close to my chest
and I'm looking at the kid.
Now I'm just,
I feel so uncomfortable.
And then I was like,
oh, we're safe.
So I put the movie back on.
I put the TV show back on.
This,
this show,
this episode
was the one that had like
three sex scenes.
So that was,
it was a journey.
Yeah, it's a journey
for me and the kid.
Educational for both.
Okay.
I learned something.
It is awkward
when that happens
and it's no better
when it's,
you know,
when it's on the actual thing.
When everyone's watching
it together.
Exactly.
Okay.
So we have a lot to cover.
So much.
We've covered the,
the sleep situation
we've covered.
And my family
doesn't answer the phone.
No, yeah.
I'm still waiting
for any sort of like response.
Yeah.
There's no,
there's not going to be.
They don't use their phones.
The one thing we haven't covered,
which we should just address
off the bat,
Joe and I
didn't plan this.
We are wearing
the same pants.
well,
mine's a little,
yours is a shade darker,
but we,
it's camo day.
It's a shade darker.
Um,
but I'm,
I'm with it.
I think we should
lean into it more often.
Oh,
let's listen to this
little fun audio guy,
shall we?
I mean,
I remember you saying like
just a couple of days ago,
like you don't remember like
almost anything.
I have like very big gaps
in my memory.
Like,
why do you think that is?
Jack's voice.
Trauma.
I'm not kidding.
We don't think you're kidding.
I've been impacted
with my therapist.
There's like,
I think so much was going on
and I wanted to like,
I was fighting against
the machine for so bad.
Like being at that age
where I felt like I was older
and I should be like able
to go do whatever I want
and be,
I would theoretically
be in college.
That was my argument
to my parents constantly,
which was like,
your parents were the machine.
No,
no,
no.
Like the Jonas Brothers thing
where everything had to be,
we talked about getting
our dentist on the pod,
but I think we should get
our therapist on.
We should get our dentist
and our therapist
on the pod at the same time.
My dentist is my therapist.
Sorry.
My therapist is my dentist.
It's a low-hanging fruit there.
I just thought I'd go for it.
Um,
I don't think it'd be a bad idea.
I also don't think that
thankfully,
my therapist would agree
to do it because,
you know,
I think they appreciate their
authority.
They know too much.
Yeah,
they do.
Yeah.
We could ask like a third-party
therapist we've never met
and then if they give us advice
we don't like,
we're like,
well,
you're not my therapist.
So,
this was one of the things
from this episode
with the OG band
that kind of traveled a bit
and people were talking about it.
um,
I do think that there,
there were a few moments
that were really candid
in that episode
because we have such
a long-standing history
with Jack and Greg,
John Taylor.
Um,
and we definitely
should do a follow-up
because John Taylor
has way more stories
he wants to share.
And,
um,
I was glad that,
that that one came out
and to see the response
and to see that,
um,
people believed it.
It was all fake.
We were just pretending.
No,
I'm kidding.
There was some real talk in there.
There was,
for sure.
Mental health was,
was kind of
one of those things.
Yeah.
Hot topic.
We talked about,
you know,
that obviously
and Kevin not having
memories of those times
which I totally relate to.
We also talked about
the 3D movie.
I think there was some
misunderstanding
about kind of
what that was about.
It wasn't about the
success of the film
but it was about
the importance
that I think
I placed
and we all placed
on success as a whole.
Totally.
And it wasn't about
comparing to others
that had
basically nothing to do with it
but about
needing to grow
and understand that
I needed to be okay
with myself.
I need to be able
to look in the mirror
and just be okay
as a person
as opposed to
comparing to others.
Um,
you know,
placing success
at the level
that I was
of importance in my life.
And,
um,
it was really
healing
just to connect
with a friend
and kind of
work through that.
But,
some people
misunderstood,
I think,
what exactly that was.
Yeah,
but that was also
your experience,
right?
It's like your
emotion going through it
and so like,
yeah.
It doesn't have to make sense.
It was tough for you
because it was tough
and you put,
we all did,
but like you said,
put so much pressure
on ourselves
to be excellent
all the time
to be the best
and wanting it too.
Like we worked really hard
at that age.
Like,
without any idea
of what it could do
to us long term
without taking breaks.
I think that
therapy's
obviously
very important
and I,
I've,
uh,
you know,
grown a lot from it
but I certainly
could do a better job
of keeping it consistent.
Joe,
I know that
you also have spoken
pretty openly
about your journey
with therapy
and how it's benefited you.
You,
a similar reason
why I got in,
uh,
got into therapy
and the reason
I started doing therapy
is because of
the first taste
of like not
achieving
success
and I use
my quote fingers
for those who are listening
because
I released a solo album
when I was about 21,
22
and it didn't
do as well
as I thought it would do
because everything
the Jones Brothers touched back then
it would be like gold.
Like we would just,
it would be a number one,
number one thing
and like
sold out tour
and I put something out
by myself
and I think I had a lot of
high expectations
of like success
without you guys
and like
that was important to me.
Somewhere in my core
I was like,
if I do that
then I matter.
So obviously there's like
a through line
that's wrong there
and I
like started having
panic attacks
and like started having
like physical pain
and I would go to the doctor
quite a bit
and do like
full body checkups
and blood work
and then eventually
and it was actually
your doctor
who was like hey
I
again
wanted to tell you
that you're
because
I would go on the weekend
but the only thing open
I think
she was only the one available
because it was weekend for
She was my endocrinologist
my
Yeah
So
but she was kind enough
to see me
and she was like look
like
you're
you're physically fine
like I can show you
the charts again
for like the third time
this month
because you're again
in a
garb
like you're at the hospital
on Sunday fun day
that's what my
buddy Maggie would say
because he was taking me
to the hospital
she's like look
I think
you should
um
like could you speak
to somebody
and I'm like
like what do you mean
like a therapist
I was like
I don't need a therapist
why would I need a therapist
therapy
what what are you talking
we don't do therapy
in our house
and
I just kind of like
was starting to
put two and two together
and I was like well
the only thing that made me feel better
I was living in New York
at the time
would literally be
taking a
my bike
and going for like
bike rides
all day long
where I couldn't be on my phone
and I couldn't like
scroll
reading comments
or seeing
what was going on
with that album
um
and I think just like
being able to be outside
and distract myself
but I was still running away
from the problem
and
I finally spoke to somebody
and after like you know
crying through the first question
for an hour
um
I realized
how great it was
and yeah
I definitely can be better
at consistency
um
but
it definitely like
so it was so helpful
during that season
and it has been
throughout my life
or
other
major life things
that have
I've gone through
to just speak to somebody
that's a professional
because
friends are great
family's great
but
there's definitely
an importance of like
a sound
a sounding board
of somebody that
you can speak to
that just like
will ask questions
in a completely different setting
and also
there's not like
a personal ultimatum
because I think
when you talk to a friend
or family sometimes
they're thinking about
themselves
and that's just
a normal selfish thing
that we all human beings do
but you talk to a professional
and you're like
oh
okay
like I didn't think of it like that
um
so that was great for me
and
they've heard it all
yeah
you think the worst things
that you have in your mind
they've probably
either heard that already
or they
they're like
knock it
that's nothing
or they say it to their therapist
that's what I always say
yeah
who's your therapist?
let's have a therapist party
on the pod
we should have a therapist
come on and just
I don't know
we could
we could really dissect each other
live on air
that's
that's perfect segue
our guest today
is the one and only therapist
please welcome
Jake Shane
hey Jake
I'm kidding
he's not here today
but he will be someday
he will be
and we can't wait
he can be our therapist
okay
let's get into it guys
we've got stuff to do
places to be
people to
sing to
haha
name the sound
uh
Zelda?
Pokemon
oh
and Kevin
Jonas
you were just hosting
live with uh
Kelly and Mark
yeah
Kelly was
live with
Kelly had a
Kevin and Mark
Kelly had a surgery
she had gum
she had some gum surgery
so they had to graft
skin and put it
pretty
I know I was
I watched
oh
thank you Joe
he watched the surgery
he watched the surgery with Kelly
yes
that's my dream job
to be a surgeon
no actually to get
the job one day
to steal
to take it
to take it from Kelly
no
or Mark
whoever
just you would like to be a
morning
or talk show host
that show
host
that just specifically
that show
I've always loved that show
back in the day with Regis
doing the thing
and of course
it was
I got the chance
later
to co-host
with Kelly
um a couple times
um
which was
traumatic actually
I had a really bad experience
doing an interview
and I learned a lot
so I asked a question
that the guest did not
like that I asked
and
which by the way
has happened to us on this podcast
we can tell sometimes
when we ask a question
that maybe like
they weren't expecting to be asked
or they
totally
they don't
they have a deal with it
so I
it can happen
it was a follow up
to the conversation
so I thought it was natural
but it was a learning experience
what questions have we asked
that no one liked?
all the
the ones that are on this
this list
that they ask us to ask people
I was about to say
I was like
I'm pretty sure
everyone's been
I think the success rate's
pretty high
it's just when it's like
the only time I think
anyone's ever like
uh
it's just getting to understand
the bowl game
I think with some people like
we
we ask the bowl game questions
and I think it's so random
sometimes people are like
uh
oh like when it's like
how often
do you change your sheets?
I was like
I don't want to read this
I was like
uh
you did
but there's two now
yeah
but shout out to
yep
they're gonna call us later
you'll see it
it's in the next week's episode
she
they were a great sport about it
she was great
and by the way
I had a very
like a fantastic answer for it
yeah
the correct answer as you said
but
it's
correct answer
but yeah no
but it was really traumatic for me
to be honest
I get it
I never thought I'd be invited back
and so to be able to be going back
and actually like host for two days
and it probably happens
like
all the time
where they're just like
totally
hey by the way
just a reminder that we don't
it's traumatic
and I never thought I'd be invited back
but I was
and that's my dream job
one day
well I hope that it
I hope it comes true
happens
or
now it schedules
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday only
let's talk
though
weekend warrior shows
let's talk though
about one thing Kev
Marc Consuelos
a very dear friend of ours
handsome man
looking
fantastic
always though
he's always looked fantastic
I asked him what his regiment was
that's what I was going to say
did you get into it with him
I did
we talked about it
you talk
routine
he lists four days a week
we talk supplements
he's not on a big stack
on peptide stuff
like he's definitely like
more of a clean straight guy
sure he loves it
you're talking about
on the pod
yeah exactly
no I'm not actually sure
his stack
we didn't get into that
stack
his stack
what's he lifting
I didn't get to wait
level
I kind of like teed it up
it was like
oh on Monday
I was like
do you workout before
because we were talking
I was like
does that help you
get your mind going
I would want to workout
before the show like that
it would probably
have like 3 a.m
no like 7
the show is a bit 8
so like
workout
go there
shower
go on show
to your point
I did the same
I would do the same thing
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He's like, no, no, immediately after.
And I was like, oh, that sounds great.
Yeah, I haven't worked out today.
Like trying to tee it up, like, yo, bro,
I'd come with you to work out.
Let's get lifting.
That's crazy.
I'm actually staying up this area.
That's what I said.
I was like, I'm staying in today.
I'm like, Danny's coming in later.
You know, I'm just gonna probably
go back to the hotel and work out.
He's like, cool.
And then just whoosh out the door.
I was like, well, I didn't get the invite.
Yeah, he wants to work out on his own.
Dude, I get it.
Workout's a secret time.
I did make that joke while on air.
They're like, I have this cigar room.
I go, yeah, Nick and Joe have seen it.
I have not.
And he's like, you've gotta come.
I have not.
I have not seen it.
So you're not alone.
I thought you've been to the cigar room
on the top of his apartment.
Yes, you have.
You told me stories about it.
I have never been to his.
Oh, no, we went to their home.
What's your home on vacation?
To a different house with them.
It was a great trip.
But yeah.
Nevermind.
We should have Kelly and Mark.
They should.
On the podcast.
It'd be great.
They're some of our favorites.
They're the best people.
Kelly, a fellow New Jersey Hall of Fame.
That's right.
Truth.
Member.
Well, I sent Mark a thermal imaging camera
so he could look up for leaks in his house
because he's a handyman.
That's amazing.
Yeah.
That sounds cool.
Yeah, he was very excited about it.
That's very Wizkid of you.
You probably could have sent me that.
Probably should have.
But you never invited him to work.
If you know, you know.
You never invited Kevin to work out, so.
Yeah.
All right.
We're going to go fight.
See you guys.
Bye.
Oh, wait.
Somebody's calling me back.
Alina Jonas.
Kevin, you're not here.
Hey.
Question for you.
Is your mom around?
Yes, mom.
I have a question for her.
Oh, it's a FaceTime.
Perfect.
Suspense is killing me.
Uncle Joe needed to ask you a question.
She's in the bathroom.
Hello.
Oh, hey, Joe.
Oh, hi there.
Okay.
Question for you.
Oh, God.
The new bed topping thing that you guys got.
Yeah.
Did Kevin have a conversation?
Me and Nick are really trying to figure this out.
Did Kevin give you the heads up
that he was going to get the bed topper,
or you were just like, what the hell?
What is this thing?
No, he surprised me.
And the night that I got into the bed,
I was so pissed off,
because I'm like, am I going to have
the most awful sleep ever because of this thing?
And also, isn't this my bed, too?
There, it settles it.
That's what Nick and I were talking about.
It is absolutely your bed.
That's all.
And he gets to sleep in it.
You are on the live on the podcast, by the way.
It's audio only for your consent.
May I use just that audio part?
But we'll talk about that later.
Okay, love you.
Love you, babe.
Love you, bye.
I just had to honestly,
consensually make sure she knows
that she's being recorded.
Isn't it my bed, too, she said.
That was perfect.
Actually, to your point,
that is what you said did happen.
Of course.
Yeah, but it doesn't change the fact
that you were an asshole about it.
Totally.
Hey, here's a new bed that you didn't ask for.
She's like, isn't this my bed, too?
It's true.
It's facts.
Yeah, it's actually her bed,
and I had the honor of sleeping in it.
Well, there you have it, guys.
Thank you so much.
We'll see you next time.
This week, a hot new bombshell enters the villa.
Who could it be?
For now, bye-bye.
Bye.
Bye-bye.
