Rumeysa Gelgi, born in Türkiye on January 1, 1997, stands at 215.16 cm (7 ft 0.7 in) and is officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the tallest woman living. Her extraordinary height is associated with Weaver syndrome, a rare genetic condition that causes accelerated growth. Before becoming the world’s tallest living woman in 2021, Rumeysa had already been recognized as the tallest living female teenager.
On the other side of the record books is Jyoti Amge, born in Nagpur, India, on December 16, 1993. Measuring just 62.8 cm (24.7 in), she became the shortest woman living when she turned 18 in 2011. Jyoti has achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism that limited her growth, but her record opened doors around the world — including an acting career and a Guinness World Records title as the shortest actress.
