🎬 ABOUT THE MOUNTAIN MEN 🎬

Here is a sweeping adventure dedicated to the first true heroes of the American, the men who trapped, hunted and survived the remote wilds of the Rocky Mountains in the 1830s. Charlton Heston stars as the lusty, rugged mountaineer/trapper Bill Tyler. At this point in history, the demand for beaver fur is tapering off, and the life that Tyler and his sidekick Henry Frapp (Brian Keith) have carved out for themselves is coming to an end. But they refuse to give up. Ending, too, is the Indian's freedom and way of life; and Chief Heavy Eagle (Stephen Macht) fights for the survival of his tribe against the white trappers and the smallpox epidemic they have brought to his people. Eventually, Heavy Eagle must confront Tyler in dramatic combat. This film is beautifully photographed in the high mountain wilderness.
