The “Light & Concrete House” | This Modern House Design Looks Simple… Until You See the Inside!

The “Light & Concrete House” is a contemporary architectural concept inspired by B+B House by studio mk27, the Brazilian architecture practice led by architect Marcio Kogan. The original B+B House, located in Brazil, is known for its powerful combination of exposed concrete and wood, its open architectural ramp, filtered natural light, and strong relationship between interior spaces and the garden.

In this video, we explore a House Design inspired by those architectural principles while developing them into a fresh residential concept. The House is imagined as a calm, sophisticated, and highly connected Home where concrete provides strength, timber brings warmth, glass creates transparency, and greenery softens the architectural geometry.

The journey begins with the exterior, where bold horizontal volumes and exposed concrete establish the identity of the House. Moving toward the entrance, the design introduces a gradual transition between the garden and the Home through a long architectural approach inspired by the promenade concept found in the original B+B House. Perforated concrete elements filter sunlight and create beautiful patterns of shadow and light.

Inside, the House opens into a spacious social area designed around comfort, interaction, and visual connection. The open living room, dining area, and kitchen work together as one continuous Home, while large glass openings bring the garden directly into the everyday experience. The original B+B House similarly uses an open social area and a large sliding door to connect the kitchen and dining spaces.

Throughout this House Design, raw concrete and natural wood create a striking contrast. Rather than hiding the structure behind excessive decoration, the Home allows its materials to become the decoration. Natural light changes the atmosphere throughout the day, while timber details introduce warmth and make the concrete architecture feel more intimate and welcoming.

The bedrooms and private areas offer a quieter side of the House, with carefully framed views, warm materials, natural light, and a stronger sense of privacy. The overall Home is designed to feel luxurious without becoming excessive—proving that a sophisticated House Design can come from proportion, material contrast, natural light, and thoughtful architectural composition.
