US Navy Bell Boeing CMV-22B Osprey Stranded at TRI with Rescue Osprey Arrival and Departure 28May26

A United States Navy Bell Boeing CMV-22B Osprey from Fleet Logistics Multi-Mission Squadron (VRM) 40 “Mighty Bison” based in Norfolk, VA, made an emergency landing at Tri-Cities Airport (KTRI) after getting a warning of a potential gearbox failure. With the Osprey unable to fly back to Norfolk, the U.S. Navy sent a second Osprey to TRI to rescue the stranded crew members. I arrived at TRI in time to catch the rescue Osprey’s arrival and departure.
