Why Marineland's last living belugas are on 'death watch'

Following the financial collapse and closure of Marineland in 2024, several beluga whales and dolphins were relocated to facilities in the U.S. and Spain. Since the move, four belugas and one dolphin have died, primarily due to feeding and respiratory issues. Experts suggest that the combined physical and psychological stress of relocation may be the primary cause of these fatalities.
