Controlling the mosquito population

Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties are under states of emergency due to rising dengue fever cases. To combat the outbreak, the city of Clearwater is deploying thousands of native eastern mosquito fish to eat larvae in local lakes, supplementing traditional spraying and urging residents to eliminate standing water and use protective clothing to reduce infection risks.
