The first thing you notice about Skippy isn't his size it's his face. Skippy's tongue is out all the
time and uh it cracks me up. He complains a lot but you know it's it's funny. He's like a feisty
old man in this little four pound body. Of course life isn't always as easy for a cat as tiny as
Skippy. When we found him he was very hungry, very weak. A co-worker of mine had found him
he was just alone in this field. There was something special about him and I said hey
if you need someone to help take care of him can I help? And so when I brought him home he was very
kind of shy and we thought he was injured because he just kind of laid there. I work at a vet clinic
that's kind of why I'm able to take care of Skippy the way I can. It took him a few days
to feel better I think with consistent medication and food and water. You could see like there was a
definite change in his demeanor. Most of the time he just liked to be with us. If I'm playing a game
he just kind of will reach out and hold my hand. He wanted to interact with the other cats.
My youngest cat he loves Skippy and um he will always check on him. For the most part
my other cats they give him his space.
Then he started to walk but when Skippy walks you can tell that he does have some difficulties
moving his legs. So dwarfism is what we're going with. It is like taking care of a baby
in that I have to check on him all the time. He's kind of aged backwards and he can't bathe himself
so he gets a bath but I put his little hats on to protect from the water. Are you done?
And it just became a thing. He just makes these like little noises and I think he's learned that
because of his condition he knows he can't do certain things so he has to talk. I've never had
a relationship with a cat where it's like I can just look at him and know what what he's thinking
and I think Skippy he understands that it's all to help.
He is like my heart and I couldn't see life without him.
