New pedestrian beacon planned for Chicago’s North Side

Chicago is introducing its first \"Hawk\" signal (Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon) in the Edgewater neighborhood. This $1.3 million safety project aims to provide a secure crossing at a busy five-point intersection near Lake Shore Drive, Hollywood Bridge, and Wayne Avenues, replacing inadequate signage with a signal-controlled crossing to protect families, seniors, and pets.
