The long holiday flew by, and autumn is here.
Recently, I bought a couple of bigger things.
I chose the oven hoping it would bake great bread, and the scones I made for breakfast this time turned out really well too — I'm very happy with it.
I hope my bread baking gets better.
The new things are a microwave oven to replace my old one that wasn't working well, and a shelf for the dining room that I'd always wanted someday and happened to find by chance.
I stopped by IKEA on the way to pick up my daughter from her club tournament.
The back of the kitchen is tidier now (our home is really small),
and with the new shelf in place, my mind feels a little clearer too.
[Scone Ingredients & Method]
A
Cake flour 100g
Bread flour 50g
Baking powder 4g
Butter 30g
Sugar 20g
B
Heavy cream 50g
1 egg
Put A in a food processor and pulse until it becomes fine and sandy.
Add B and mix until it comes together — be careful not to overwork it.
Turn it out onto plastic wrap and stack the pieces to bring it into one mass.
Chill in the fridge, then cut out with a cutter.
Brush with milk and bake.
10 minutes at 200°C, then 10 minutes at 190°C.
