Palestinian Israeli politician withdraws from Knesset bid after disqualification

Palestinian-Israeli politician Sami Abushahada has withdrawn his candidacy for the Israeli Knesset after being disqualified by the Central Elections Committee. Abushahada chose to step down to prevent the Supreme Court from setting a legal precedent that could be used to bar other Palestinian-Israeli candidates and lists from participating in future elections.
