Jonatan Christie vs Jason Gunawan | Locked in from the start

Christie edges ahead. Look at the lights and a long look at the lights for John Christie. That's wonderful for Gunawan. Great power from Jason. Smart play from Jason. Keep it fast but that's a good hook down from Christie. A stunning power coming from Gunawan's racket at the moment. It's much better from Christie. Four game points. Well 21-16. Jason Gunawan has done everything he needs to do and is in control here in this men's singles. That's in two. Well Jason Gunawan can take some encouraging signs from the start of the second game. If he can match this kind of output should be able to hijack this game and match near the end. Look at this rally. Fantastic. He's forced the error from Christie. Beautifully dropped in there by Gunawan. Gets the applause from his coach and rightly so. Forced into that lift. Much better play from both players. This might even be rally of the match so far. Oh great recovery from Jason. So 11-8 at the break and Christie well I wouldn't say back on track but certainly facing the right direction now. He's taking it to Christie. Oh that's wide. Jason's got the bit between his teeth. He's right up at the line forcing the errors. Great output from Gunawan. This might just be longest rally as well. It was 40. It stood at 42 shots based on that last epic rally that they had. Christie flat out. So this one at 37. Again Gunawan scores. 16-14. 18-15. That's wonderfully done. That's given him five match points. I'm seeing is how he never really got. That's gone wide. Fantastic performance from the young Hong Kong player. Jason Gunawan has taken the biggest scalp this week and that is the newly minted world number one Jonathan Christie in straight games 21-16, 21-16.
