Impossible Late Retrieval Outplays in Badminton

Point! Magnificent! Incredible! Not just to play a shot like that through the legs, yeah, we've all seen that before, but for it to be a winner? This show tonight, I can't really follow the pace of the players, I have to see it in replay. Done it again. Expect the unexpected. Which is so much fun to watch, because, as you say Steve, you never know what's coming next. The most difficult shots, yes. And there's too many big deceptions, where the racket makes a big movement. Oh! Fantastic retrieval. Lin Dan thought the rally was won. Look, he plays to the block, and Lin Dan just stops and watches it. Somehow, Li Chongwei gets to it, and that was the right occasion to play the cross-court net shot. It's a tough rally at this stage of the match. 33 shots. It's me! That's unbelievable! How on earth did he get that back? And then to play a winner on the backhand. Extraordinary. Only a couple of points to take. That's a good angle. Thank you very much. That is incredible. Longest rally. What the hell? Look at this. No look. Reverse. Straight across the net. Good shot. Just now, Li Chongwei also thought Lin Dan's shot was saved. Good shot. An unbelievable save. And it was very passive. Lin Dan, this is a resurrection on the edge of the cliff. Good shot. Take a look at this. Misses it. Has another go. Just put one point in it. It's awesome. Not only... You have to admire that shot. 19-0. Here we see total split. Still getting up. And still playing the next shot with immense quality. Oh, I can't believe it. He's going to leave the... Oh, and he's won the point as well. That's outrageous. It's over. Yeah, that was a good one. And then come back. Behind him. And it's in. That is absolutely extraordinary from Sheng. Full-length dive. And it landed on the line. A moment of magic from Sheng Shi Wei. Good shot. And again. That is magnificent. Where on earth did that come from? Take a look at this. She's pushed deep in her forehand corner once, then a second time she's in. Oh my goodness. Opportunities for Li Zhongwei. How on earth did he stay in that rally? Right in front of the two players. That's an inspirational shot. Great defence. Again, he's dictating the rally. He's just keeping his opponent late the whole time. Again, great touch on the net. Here's the trick shot. Late. Oh, fantastic. It took the top of the tape. That is super. Look at that punch clear. But look at the backhand from Sindhu. Played to perfection. Look at that. And then the two players. XG. It was going to Zhou Zhijun. And once again, he's adjusted so well. Miyazaki with accuracy, so she's not playing it that often. She's playing much more downwards. Oh, good defence. Oh, and a jump! At full strength. And An Sui Yang plays a remarkable deceptive drive for an outright winner. Look at that. Nice. Oh my goodness. How did Han Yue get out of trouble there? Yeah, she's won the rally. Compared to most other opponents. That's a fantastic shot. She gets away there. You tape in. Orbi. Good flick. That is extraordinary. How did he get it? Let alone play that cross-court net shot to perfection. Look at that. That's surely not possible.
