#Ideal couple_ Rewards given
Hello everyone. Have you ever heard about the barter system? In olden days, instead of buying
certain things, they used to exchange goods. Suppose, if they give animals or certain things,
they get back other things from others. For example, for instance, if we want to buy jasmine
flowers or rose flowers, our grandparents, great grandparents used to give some grains,
rice grains or wheat or something else. They used to give for getting those flowers.
Not only flowers, whatever we want to get, it's in the form of exchange. That is what is known as
barter system. Here is a humorous story. I think you can enjoy this story. It also contains
some message in it. Now, let's get into the story. But you need to read the story till the end
without skipping, so that you can understand the mutual understanding and cooperation between
husband and wife. Once, there lived a couple named Rajesh and Kavya. They were like made for
each other and were leading happy life, supporting each other. Normally, husband and wife never
compromise with other's opinion. That leads to disputes between themselves. Everyone in that
village had a lot of respect towards them. If husband and wife had any disputes, they used to
approach the ideal couple and got their problems solved. When Rajesh was counseling husband,
Kavya took the activity of counseling wife. Thus, they played vital role in the village.
They became so famous and their story reached even the king. He was very curious to know much
more about them. Rajesh and Kavya had two buffaloes. One of them stopped giving milk.
It became difficult for them to feed that buffalo. So, Rajesh decided to sell it.
When he was going to town, another person came from opposite direction.
He had a horse. He asked Rajesh where he was going to with that buffalo. He told him everything.
The man with the horse said, can you exchange it with my horse? Rajesh thought it was a good idea.
This horse will bring glory to my house. Besides, I can go anywhere riding this horse. He said to
himself and took the horse in exchange with the buffalo. Now, I can happily go home riding this
horse. Thinking so, he jumped onto the horse. But the horse wasn't moving a bit. He realized that
the horse was a blind one. Thus, he was cheated. He saw another man coming from opposite direction
with a cow reduced to bones. The man said, sir, see my cow, how it is reduced to bones.
The grass which is grown in our place is not suitable to my cow. Can you take this cow in
exchange of your horse? Rajesh, being honest, said how he was treated by the man who gave the
blind horse. No problem, sir. Give me the horse in exchange for this cow. Yes, cow milk is very
healthy. Cow will also feel happy knowing it. He thought and took the cow. While returning home,
he realized that cow was too weak to move on. He found some grass and was about to feed it.
But no use. It wasn't touching anything. In fact, it didn't have teeth. Then, what can I do with
this cow? He thought. When he was lost in his thoughts, another approached him with a goat and
asked for the cow in exchange with the goat. Sorry, some mistake is there. But each time he was telling
truth about those animals. Even then, the man agreed for exchange. Rajesh thought, it is good
to drink goat's milk. He took the goat and was going home. When he was going with the goat,
he saw another man with a cock. It's a rooster. He convinced him saying that his rooster was very
efficient in taking part in competition and it could also wake him up in the morning. Rajesh
thought what he said is true. So, he agreed for exchange. Later, he realized the rooster was
wounded completely. He was not in a position to move any further. Another man came and asked him
to sell it for one rupee. He was so exhausted and could not move any further. So, sold it for one
rupee. Feeling very hungry, found a small hotel, bought some food and was about to eat. A beggar
approached him and said that he had not eaten food for three days. Feeling sorry for the beggar,
gave his food to him. Thus, he went home empty-handed. His wife gave him water to wash
his feet. Then asked what he brought. I exchanged it with a horse, but was about to say something.
She said immediately, Oh, very good. Our house will be glorified with the horse.
No, let me finish. I exchanged the horse with a cow, said he. Very good. Cow is considered as
Lakshmi. Cow milk is very good for health. No, I exchanged it with a goat. He starved for a while.
Very good. Goat's milk is very healthy, said his wife. I exchanged it for a rooster,
said in feeble voice. No problem. It will wake us up in the morning, said his wife.
No, I was very hungry. So, sold it for one rupee and bought meal, said he. It's okay. Early
morning you went. Okay, you got something to eat, said his wife. No, I didn't even eat that. I gave
it to a hungry beggar. After saying those words in feeble voice, he sat down. His wife Kavya said,
you have done a great job by feeding the poor beggar. She further said,
wait, you are looking very tired. I will serve you something hot.
King's men heard their conversation and revealed everything to the king.
The king appreciated their mutual understanding and cooperation and presented them a beautiful
horse, a cow, a goat, a rooster and some money. Thus, even the king was impressed by the ideal
couple.
