How to develop long term relationships with customers.
In today's video a new customer requested I check his system out before turning it on for the summer! I found small problems and made a customer for life! #hvacguy#airconditioning#hvac#bluecollar @ACIQComfort @MilwaukeeTool 00:00 Introduction 03:00 Furnace 12:59 Condenser 15:24 Diagnosing 16:46 Cleaning 18:24 Charging 20:34 Ending
Hey guys we just pulled up on preventive maintenance and um
looks like we're going to be dodging rain. Stay tuned.
Right behind here. Okay. I'll let you give me some space.
You talking about in here?
No in here behind it. Oh I see here we go.
all right this is going to be positive pressure drain
so we're not going to need a p-trap
i'm here for the ac
to do a tune-up that flue
pipe bothers me a little bit
it is not the proper way to make a joint all
right i'm gonna go get my tools and i'm gonna
be back in here i was just looking at things here
um where's your filter located around
that corner. I haven't run the AC this season yet.
You have not run it yet? Nope. It's basically all I do.
It has been kind of warm. Yeah, it has.
I just use my AC basically to keep the humidity down.
You know, they're supposed to warm up good Sunday.
And the humidity's supposed to be a lot higher.
Outdoor unit over here? No, it's right back.
Okay. That coral actually looks pretty clean.
I had cleaned it out last year, cut, you know, cut,
get some of the dirt and dust, and it, it stays fairly protected.
Now, you know, all of them get a little dirt in them,
but, but, uh, it, it stays fairly protected.
All right, um, while I'm working on the indoor unit, will you move
this stuff so I can get all around it and take panels off? Okay.
And I'm, I'm gonna go ahead and start working on the indoor unit, okay?
Okay. You, you go through the house.
All right, thank you, sir.
I need
some algae
tablets here.
That goes on this hot water here.
Forgive me, I'm going to have to sit.
Okay, it does look like I need to get my vacuum
and clean this out.
Right now, I'm going to check bearings and check this capacitor.
I'll show you that.
That wheel is very well.
This capacitor is located right on top of the blower,
top of the blower compartment.
I've already checked to make sure we don't have voltage,
but we'll check this again.
Nothing, nothing.
this out see
if i can read
what it is
really hard
for me to see
if i can take
a picture
of it i'm
trying to read the micro
farad rating on it i can
see it 7.5 and now i can
test it switch my meter
to
micro
farads
i'm just
gonna
have
to tell
you
what it
says 7.5
that
one's
good
difficulty
but you haven't returned it on this year right
okay no sir just asking in case i need to
um focus on something okay i'll be around labor day maybe
a little after the last time i i had
run
it
okay
i'm
gonna
turn
on
the
fan
right
now
or do
you
need
to
see
stuff
up
close
like
this
no it's not gonna be there
and here we go here's
my nameplate i'll let you
one maximum total input
6.8 amps
6.8 amps
and vacuum
that out
while i got
this here
code
either
georgia
if at all
possible
you need to penetrate the cabinet with more pipe you could
do flex from here to here but not through
here trying to do
is get some algae
tablets in the main
drain pan there's a
couple ways to do it
cat toro
that's
not
going
to work
option
is how
about
right
there i
got to be
careful
because
the blower's on right now
and it's blowing these out of out of here we'll put this on cool turn
the fan to auto see
what happens i'll
tell you what if it
does start to rain
we about covered
under
here.
Yeah.
In
just
a
second.
410
system.
Load
for
410.
Fixing
to
go
look.
Need
to
turn
these around and check superheat and self-cool.
Okay, this is what I was looking for. We have
low self-cooling and high superheat.
That tells me it is low on refrigerant. That low pressure
is not because of restrictive return.
If it were restrictive return of airflow, that superheat
would be low super heat tells me it is low
in the fridge does not mean it is a filter is not the
right size i'm just saying
this indicates it's low on charge
i'm speaking of wanting to get away
from gas if you ever do replace this um there's
a heat pump that we can install in that closet
okay without having to rewire your house okay
that was that was the knockout
the wall if i could do
but more efficiently, I might look at it.
There's a high efficiency heat pump.
Yeah.
The air handler, I can convert to 120 volts
and don't need heat strips.
So you don't need to supply 240 volts to the closet.
Okay.
So when that time comes, call me.
I will.
A lot of things change.
Yes.
That's how it's put in.
Yes, systems nowadays,
there's some of them that are real similar,
but yeah, that gas bill you told me about, that's high.
yes sir back
to where we
were led my
line i can
feel heat
coming out
the top of it
now for the
first time sub cooling is around seven
degrees superheat around 12.3 degrees
and just a little
bit more not much that coil does have a txv on it
so sub cooling is our number one reading we're
looking at over here that
sub cooling fluctuating
a little bit though i'll
weigh this drone when i
bring it back to the van i probably have
not used more than a pound see my sub my super heat going
down sub cooling going up
sub cooling this seems
to be hovering between seven
and eight super heats
at 13 point right now it's at 14 sub cooling right now
is about nine degrees so i'm gonna leave this
alone sub cooling does seem
to be jumping around a little bit
be good the rest of summer okay i do
know that by the way that man was talking
and finding that system you know a little bit low
on refrigerant most people would have sold him
a new system right there on the spot but i didn't
think it was very low i told him hey we can charge it up he opted
to do that and found out it didn't
need much refrigerant at all just barely over a pound
and i gave him options and asked him to call
me when it's time to replace that thing.
And to me, that's how you form long-term relationships
with customers. You treat them like family.
You give them options. You tell them the truth. You
don't try to upsell. And when the time comes,
I'm pretty sure he's going to call me. I told him
about a system, the ACIQ system that's coming out now
that doesn't need heat strips and it's a heat
pump. I think he would, around here, that is fabulous.
Our systems are based on our cooling
load or what technically is our heat load,
but how much cooling capacity we need. If I need 36,000
BTUs for cooling, that's more than enough for the heat around here.
So a heat pump with no heat
strips would be perfectly fine for him.
I hope you enjoyed the video. And if you're interested
in those ACIQ systems and want to be a dealer for stuff like that,
check out the links in
the description. Catch you on the next one.
