Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces had struck two Russian oil refineries in Omsk and Ukhta, including a major facility located 1,900 kilometres from Ukraine’s state border. Zelenskyy also shared footage on his official social media account showing the moment of a strike on one of the facilities, followed by a massive fireball and a powerful blaze engulfing the site. According to Zelenskyy, the Ukhta refinery was hit by AN-196 RS drones capable of flying approximately 2,500 kilometres, while the Omsk refinery was targeted a day earlier using FP-6 drones, modified versions of the FP-1. “We continue to respond to Russia’s strikes against Ukraine, and we are doing so with precision,” Zelenskyy said, adding that another data centre had also been hit in what he described as a mirror response. “The accuracy of our warriors is crucial. Glory to Ukraine!” he added. Ukraine has intensified its campaign against Russian energy infrastructure, targeting oil refineries and other facilities critical to the country’s fuel production and supply chains. The repeated strikes have disrupted refinery operations and added pressure to Russia’s oil-processing industry, as Kyiv seeks to undermine a key source of revenue supporting Moscow’s war effort.
