“Apple may finally be entering the smart-home display market — and its new Home Hub could arrive as soon as October 13. But there’s one big reason you may want to wait before buying it.”

Apple’s long-rumored smart home hub could finally be arriving — reportedly on October 13, 2026.

The device, currently known by the rumored name “HomePad” and reportedly code-named J490, could be Apple’s first dedicated smart-home display. Reports suggest it may feature a roughly 6-inch touchscreen, a countertop version with a speaker base, a wall-mounted version, smarter Siri AI, smart-home controls, FaceTime, music, photos, widgets, and personalized experiences.
