►LYRICS - Garden Song (Original)
I met my Lord in the garden
Where darkness first saw the light
In dust I was made to be like Him
He breathed into me a new life

I hurt my Lord in the garden
I gave it all up for a lie
Cursed and cast out, yet he pardoned
With clothes made of things that have died

The seed of a Savior is given
In the soil of His promise it grows
The vine sacrificed, our Lord Jesus Christ
So the fruit of His grace may be sowed

Sin grows like weeds in our gardens
We work by the sweat of our brow
In pain we will bring forth our children
Our mistakes like a snake
Keep us slithering in doubt

The seed of a Savior is given
In the soil of His promise it grows
The vine sacrificed, our Lord Jesus Christ
So the fruit of His grace may be sowed

I heard Him pray in the garden
"Father, Your will realized"
Betrayed by his friends and forgotten
He hung on a cross that was mine

But three days later in the garden
Behold, a man dressed in white
The stone rolled away and I saw Him
His name is Jesus Christ

The seed of a Savior is given
In the soil of His promise it grows
The vine sacrificed, our Lord Jesus Christ
Now the fruit of His grace we may sow

One day we'll have a new garden
He'll make every wrong become right
Our roots will grow deep in the Gardener's keep
And He'll tend to our souls with His light
