What Scientists Keep Finding at Australia's Black Mountain Has Shocked the Entire World

In 1890 a police constable named Ryan tracked a fugitive to the entrance of a cave at Black Mountain and followed him inside. Neither of them ever came back out. That story did not make it into the first Black Mountain video on this channel. This one covers what was left out. The boulder explosions that occur when tropical rain hits superheated granite and the rock simply detonates. The documented pockets of bad air inside the cave system that can render someone unconscious without warning. The three vertebrate species that evolved inside one rock formation and exist nowhere else on Earth, with a combined worldwide distribution of less than six square kilometres. The carnivorous bat that hunts inside the passages in total darkness. And the large striped animal that Queensland Parks and Wildlife has formally documented sightings of near the mountain, described as resembling a species that has been extinct for twenty thousand years.
