World War II was Our Ragnarök

Odin is one of the darkest and most mysterious gods in the European Pagan tradition. He is the god of war, death, battle frenzy, poetry, wisdom, and the sacred wolf-band. Even after the Christianization of Europe, Medieval kings claimed descent from him, and to this day, Odin continues to fascinate the European imagination. The psychologist Carl Jung went so far as to suggest that Odin had possessed Adolf Hitler in order to set off the events of the Second World War so that he could gather heroic souls for Ragnarök--the final battle between the forces of order and chaos in Norse myth. What is it about Odin that has inspired such wild speculation? Why has this ancient pagan god continued to haunt us? And was World War II the Ragnarök of the West? To answer these questions, we first need to understand the history of the Germanic peoples, from the Indo-Eurpeans through the Viking Age, and their ancient pagan religion and gods.
